Overview
Sit on the terrace with a glass of wine and relish the fine views across the mountains towards the sparkling blue of the Mediterranean. This beautifully furnished three bedroomed villa is superbly located near a pretty village, only a short drive to the beautiful town and many sandy beaches of Le Lavandou.
The many pretty windows of the living area make the best of its stunning views and access the large artistically designed terrace with covered area and natural shade from the ancient olive tree by the cascading bougainvillea. The kitchen and dining area is modern, brightly coloured and well equipped and the cooling light colours of the living room are interspersed with several colourful paintings.
Two doubles and a twin, each with air-conditioning, have their own contemporary shower rooms, making this an ideal base for a family or small group of friends. Guests can appreciate spending time by the pool in a lovely location, perfect also for exploring further afield in this glorious part of southern France.
The nearby hillside village of Bormes-les-Mimosas is best known for its pretty flower covered stone houses and has everything you need as well as an abundance of character. Down on the coast, Le Lavandou is a lively tourist town with a vibrant nightlife as well as the more traditional ritual of the daily fish market and twelve wonderful sandy beaches with long coastal paths to explore. The area has won many awards for the quality of its water and beaches and it has become a paradise for families as well as sailors, divers and lovers of watersports.
The Isles d’Or lie tantalising off the coast and are a short boat shuttle away from Le Lavandou or the elegant hillside town of Hyères. Spend a day in paradise on the island of Porquerolles where you can hire a bike, windsurf, paddleboard or just swim in crystal clear waters.
You can even take a summer boat trip or drive along the fabulous Corniche des Maures to the allure of Saint-Tropez with its marina, historic quarter and the glitzy beach clubs of Pampelonne beach. There is so much of the French Riviera to explore from this fabulous holiday home.

Location
About the surrounding area of Dans Les ArbresOnly 7km from the port and wonderful beaches of Le Lavandou, Dans Les Arbres is located in a residential area, also a short drive from the delightful hillside village of Bormes-les-Mimosas. It’s a steep drive up to the villa but you are rewarded with wonderful views of the surrounding landscapes and even as far as the sea.
There is a local restaurant and bakery just 500m whilst you will be able to pick up groceries in either Bormes-les-Mimosas or in the supermarkets close to Le Lavandou.
Bormes-les-Mimosas is best known for its pretty bougainvillea decorated stone houses, after all it is said to be one of the most flower-filled villages of France. It’s a beautiful old village and it has everything you need here from craft market and tourist office to restaurants, shops and a bank.
Le Lavandou lies at the foot of the Massif des Maures and used to be a small fishing port in a bay which extends over 12km along the Mediterranean. Destroyed in 1944 and rebuilt after the war, it is now a popular tourist destination with a huge marina lined with fishing boats and international yachts. The fishermen sell their catch in the market every morning and the Thursday farmers market has plenty of fresh local produce. There is a lively summer nightlife here with bars, night clubs and casinos as well as quieter restaurants and cafes.
Le Lavandou has twelve beautifully maintained and individually named fine sanded beaches with crystal clear waters. Indeed, the quality of the seabed, water and beaches has attracted many awards making the area a paradise for divers and lovers of water sports. There are many boat trips from Lavandou up the coastline towards Brégançon or Saint-Tropez and daily 20-minute shuttles to the enchanting Iles D’Or, each island heavenly but with a distinct personality.
Hyères, the “original French Riviera” much frequented by aristocracy, is an elegant old hillside town which looks over salt marshes to the golden islands. Ten minutes by sea is the most western of the Isles d’Or, Porquerolles, a touch of paradise where you can swim from its wonderful beaches, hire a bike, windsurf, paddleboard or simply enjoy an ice cream or croissant from the harbour café.
For a touch of glitz and glamour head to Saint-Tropez, renowned for its marina and its historic fishing quarter. The sandy stretches of the Pampelonne beach are great for spotting A-list celebrities in the beach clubs and admiring their expensive yachts in the bay. There is a wonderful drive by the sea along the Corniche des Maures which runs between Lavandou and the Saint-Tropez peninsular.
It’s hard to leave the sea but the Maures Massif is a huge mountain range with plenty to offer visitors – biking, walking and horse riding in the scrubland and forests of chestnut trees, pretty villages and many protected animal species. Travel the 776 metres up to the highest point Signal de la Sauvette for superb views across the mountains and the Iles D’Or and on the way back call into the peaceful village of Collobrières, the capital of the Maures and renowned for its cork oak and chestnut trees.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThis is just a wonderful part of France for kids with most activities centring on the beach and watersports interspersed with cycling, horse riding and hiking.
La Grande Plage de Lavandou is the central beach of the coastal town, gently sloping, great for children and one of twelve wonderful beaches along this part of the coastline. For a break from the sea, try Mini Golf Exotique du Lavandou.
At the southern end of Bormes-les-Mimosa, Plage de Cabasson is a nice family friendly beach with crystal clear calm water, coves to explore, a small summer pizzeria, picnic tables under the trees, shower, playground and toilets. From the shore there is a great view of the Brégançon fort.
There are fabulous boat trips along the coast from Le Lavandou and to the golden islands. Kids will love the 10 minute ferry trip from Hyères to the storybook magic of the island of Porquerolles where they can hire bikes, windsurf, paddle board, or take a sailing lesson.
