Experience the very best of the Côte d'Azur hinterland at this wonderful villa close to Grasse, the perfume capital of France.
Across this spacious bastide and its guesthouse, up to 17 guests can embrace its French charm and exquisite character. Step into the main house’s beautifully tiled floors and appreciate the space across its lounge, dining room and rustic French kitchen with doors leading out to the various terraces surrounding the bastide.
Stairs wind upstairs to a TV lounge in the hallway, a library (which also acts as a sleeping area) and six pretty bedrooms, most with an en suite shower or bathroom. A separate pretty guesthouse, just near the entrance of the grounds, sleeps 4-6 further guests and features its own lounge and fully-equipped kitchen.
Across the vast grounds so typical of Provence, admire the many olive and cypress trees and wander past summer roses, then up the steps to the glorious swimming pool. A magnificently arched pool house also awaits, just perfect for spending long summer days in the romantic surroundings of your garden and pool.
In a partially residential quarter, you are just a 4km drive from the heart of historic Grasse with its narrow medieval lanes, perfume studios, café terraces, daily flower market and grand Cathédrale Notre-Dame Du Puy. Visit nearby Valbonne on a Friday morning for one of the area’s best markets and venture to other picture-perfect villages dotted across the landscapes such as Opio, known for its olive oil, and artistic Mougins which was once so loved by Picasso.
Down by the French Riviera coastline, around half an hour away, soak up the glamour of Cannes and potter around historic Antibes before finding a palm-fringed beach or picturesque bay to swim in the Mediterranean. Return to the beauty of Maison Frédéric in this very special part of southern France.

In the outskirts of Grasse, you are merely a 2km drive from useful amenities including a choice of supermarkets and the Canal de la Siagne also passes very nearby, perfect for pleasant walks or jogs. The heart of historic Grasse is just over 4km away, famed for its perfume heritage and home to the Musée International de la Parfumerie. As you explore the charming town, come across its market at Place aux Herbes and admire the pretty cafes, shops, restaurants and bars. The 12th century Cathédrale Notre-Dame Du Puy houses impressive 17th century paintings by Rúben.
Elsewhere, visit the market town of Valbonne (6.5km) on a Friday morning for one of the region’s best Provençal market whilst the pretty village of Opio (7km) is known for its olive oil. Further inland, follow the winding road towards perched Gourdon (15km) with its sensational views back towards the French Riviera, or venture towards Cabris (11km) to dine out in one of its restaurants.
Towards the coast, follow the footsteps of Picasso in Mougins (10km), a flower-filled village with art galleries and gastronomic restaurants, before reaching the glamourous town of Cannes (16km) with its beaches, boutiques and boat trips. It’s a wonderful place to spend the day, not just because of its glitzy reputation, but also for the opportunity to soak up its authentic side at Cannes’ bustling markets or as you potter around its old quarter, Le Suquet.
Historic Antibes (20km) is also full of charm whilst Cap d'Antibes is a paradise for walkers keen to follow the peninsula’s coastal trails. The chic resort of Juan-les-Pins (20km) is the place to go for beachside restaurants and also offers watersports and boat trips whilst there is a wealth of family attractions just north of Antibes around Marineland.

Region
Fall in love with Grasse and its surrounding villages as you experience the Côte d’Azur hinterland staying in one of our handpicked villa rentals in and around Grasse. Pass lavender, jasmine, roses and flower farms as you drive into the hills of the Provence-Alpes-Maritime – no wonder Grasse is known as the ‘perfume capital of France’.
As well as the Museé International de la Parfumerie, visit the perfume houses of Galimard, Molinard and Fragonard for guided tours and even perfume-making workshops. Elsewhere, explore the historic winding lanes and come across artisan shops, café terraces and the impressive Rubens frescoes inside Cathédrale Notre-Dame du Puy de Grasse. There’s a lovely daily flower market at Place aux Aires whilst Place aux Herbes hosts the larger twice-weekly market on a Wednesday and Saturday morning.
A short drive from Grasse, encounter a wealth of picture-perfect villages and beautiful landscapes for walking, hiking, horse-riding and cycling. The perched village of Cabris is especially bucolic with incredible vistas over the Tanneron forest and Lac de Saint-Cassien. There are more glorious views from the small village of Spéracèdes with its pastel-coloured houses and olive trees.
Discover century-old hiking trails through the Siagne valley as well as pretty villages, ancient bridges and idyllic swimming spots. Visit the illuminated caves of stalagmites and stalactites just outside Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne before pottering around the authentic village admiring its fountains, café terraces and inviting food shops showcasing goats cheese, honey, olive oil and other products of the region.
South of Grasse, drive to the charming hilltop village of Opio, also famed for its olive oil, and don’t miss the Friday morning market in Valbonne, a very charming town dating back to the 16th century, home to a wonderful town square with pavement cafes and restaurants.
Golf lovers have a great choice of courses in the region including Golf du Claux Amic, once a 17th century hunting estate with stunning views and Golf Grande Bastide just south of Opio as well as prestigious courses close to Mougins and Cannes. As well as endless hiking trails across Grasse’s surroundings, other activities include a range of land and water-based activities in and around Lac de Saint-Cassien, only 15km from Grasse, as well as tree-top adventures and zip-lines with French Riviera views at Riviera Nature just north of the town.
Kids
