Overview
Villas which evoke such a feeling of calm, aesthetic harmony, beauty and sheer perfection are rare – Villa Zen is one of those villas.
It sits on a hillside amidst pretty landscaped gardens overlooking woodland, with views up to the ancient village of Châteauneuf de Grasse, and just below its sister villa, Villa Jolie. Each villa has been designed to feel quite private and independent from the other, and larger parties benefit from the possibility of booking both villas together and sharing the whole estate (Villas Jolie and Zen).
The magic is everywhere you look, whether indoors or outdoors - high quality furnishings, meticulous attention to detail, soothing colour schemes, original artwork…everything has received complete care and attention. The spaces are vast and light and offer plenty of creature comforts like air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, high quality equipment, a TV den, a wood-fired pizza oven and a built-in barbecue. The gardens are filled with lavender, rosemary, olive trees and fruit trees and even a vegetable garden, providing a stunning frame for the sleek swimming pool with jet stream for serious swimmers.
If you can drag yourself away from all the comfort and beauty, everything here is at your doorstep. The village is a short walk away via country lanes. Markets are held in Valbonne and Mouans Sartoux only minutes away, Antibes (with its Aquapark) and Cannes are only 18-22km away, the pretty artists village of Saint Paul de Vence is an easy 30-minute drive and Nice is just 35km away.
Villa Zen is the perfect blend of both natural and man-made beauty with all the best that the French Riviera has to offer.

Region
Fall in love with Grasse and its surrounding villages as you experience the Côte d’Azur hinterland staying in one of our handpicked villa rentals in and around Grasse. Pass lavender, jasmine, roses and flower farms as you drive into the hills of the Provence-Alpes-Maritime – no wonder Grasse is known as the ‘perfume capital of France’.
As well as the Museé International de la Parfumerie, visit the perfume houses of Galimard, Molinard and Fragonard for guided tours and even perfume-making workshops. Elsewhere, explore the historic winding lanes and come across artisan shops, café terraces and the impressive Rubens frescoes inside Cathédrale Notre-Dame du Puy de Grasse. There’s a lovely daily flower market at Place aux Aires whilst Place aux Herbes hosts the larger twice-weekly market on a Wednesday and Saturday morning.
A short drive from Grasse, encounter a wealth of picture-perfect villages and beautiful landscapes for walking, hiking, horse-riding and cycling. The perched village of Cabris is especially bucolic with incredible vistas over the Tanneron forest and Lac de Saint-Cassien. There are more glorious views from the small village of Spéracèdes with its pastel-coloured houses and olive trees.
Discover century-old hiking trails through the Siagne valley as well as pretty villages, ancient bridges and idyllic swimming spots. Visit the illuminated caves of stalagmites and stalactites just outside Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne before pottering around the authentic village admiring its fountains, café terraces and inviting food shops showcasing goats cheese, honey, olive oil and other products of the region.
South of Grasse, drive to the charming hilltop village of Opio, also famed for its olive oil, and don’t miss the Friday morning market in Valbonne, a very charming town dating back to the 16th century, home to a wonderful town square with pavement cafes and restaurants.
Golf lovers have a great choice of courses in the region including Golf du Claux Amic, once a 17th century hunting estate with stunning views and Golf Grande Bastide just south of Opio as well as prestigious courses close to Mougins and Cannes. As well as endless hiking trails across Grasse’s surroundings, other activities include a range of land and water-based activities in and around Lac de Saint-Cassien, only 15km from Grasse, as well as tree-top adventures and zip-lines with French Riviera views at Riviera Nature just north of the town.

Owner Profile
How long have you owned the property?
We bought the plot in 2004 when it was used by the previous owner to keep sheep and grow grapes and olives. The first villa was completed in 2008 and the second in 2012.
What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
It’s a beautiful, large plot of land in a quiet and protected area with lovely views of the village of Chateauneuf.
Are there any interesting stories in its history?
As well as previously being used to grow grapes (and still produces a modest olive harvest for oil) the land was previously used to grow flowers for the perfume industry in Grasse.
Have you ever had any famous guests staying?
Of course! Being discrete for the individuals, we have had Saudi royalty and famous musicians stay in the properties
For anyone coming to stay is there anything in the surrounding area they should...
Really do?
Have a drink (or a meal) in the square in Valbonne.
Really eat?
La Place de Mougins in Mougins village.
Really see?
The view of the French Riviera from Gourdon village.
What insider tip would you pass on about the property or the area?
Bring a comfortable pair of shoes and walk, walk, walk – through the narrow streets of the local villages; around the local markets and brocantes; on the country walks in the hills; through the renowned artist villages of Vallauris, St Paul de Vence and Mougins…

Beautiful villa
First impressions of this beautiful villa are great!

Fabulous villa
We have just returned from the most wonderful week here. The villa's layout and decor was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 1 child. The outdoor area is beautiful with a number of comfortable seating areas and a fantastic pool. The outdoor dining area was really well set up with a gas BBQ and pizza oven, it made cooking a pleasure. Michelle was extremely helpful with all my questions before we arrived and also left us some fabulous welcome gifts. The housekeeper was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We all had a wonderful week and would have happily stayed longer!

Outstanding villa & wonderful host!
Wish our time at this magnificent villa had been longer. We were six adults who unanimously rated this place as a 10! The house includes everything you can think of to make your stay pleasant, it is well decorated and very clean. The surroundings are beautiful and the villa is located close to many nice small villages. Michelle, our host, has been attentive to all of our needs both before we arrive and while we were there. We felt most welcome and hope to come back again.
