Nestled in the vines of one of the most prestigious vineyards in Provence, Les Cigales is a converted grape harvest barn in a spectacular setting. This is a wonderful location for visiting Provence and the glistening Côte d’Azur with some of the most beautiful beaches of the Var within easy reach and jet-setting destinations such as Saint-Tropez ideal for a superb day out.
Live amongst the vines the Provençal way as you relax at Les Cigales. On one side of the villa is a light-filled and spacious open-plan living and dining area attractively furnished with hand-crafted walnut pieces, large comfortable sofas and fireplace. The generous-sized table can seat up to 16 guests for fine dining throughout the year. This space leads out to the magnificent swimming pool and garden.
On the other side of the villa is the fully-equipped modern kitchen boasting a professional gas range and electric oven, American fridge-freezer, two dishwashers, coffee machines and other kitchen gadgets – cooking here is an absolute pleasure. There is also an outdoor summer kitchen with plancha, gas cooker and ice-maker.
Reached via the kitchen, the enchanting walled garden is shaded from the sun by a large pergola where you can dine al-fresco accompanied by the sound of trickling water from a natural source, ideal for lazy breakfasts, lingering lunches and barbecues on balmy summer evenings.
After a day’s activity, fall asleep to the sound of the cicadas in one of Les Cigales’ five stylish bedrooms. Three of the double rooms (all with king or super-king beds) are en suite whilst the two twin/double rooms (each with an extra sliding bed) share a family shower room. The ground floor bedroom is self-contained, perhaps good for grandparents seeking a little privacy, and we especially love the master bedroom with its south-west facing balcony, a romantic spot to watch the sunset with a glass of local rosé.
The 12m long swimming pool is surrounded by sun-drenched terraces infused with sensuous Mediterranean scents of rosemary, lavender, thyme and pine alongside the lazy drone of cicadas. Complete with an aperitif pool and a ledge for small children, this is an idyllic place to while away a lazy afternoon on the many sunbeds or beneath the two shaded areas for a siesta out of the midday sun.
Amongst the large and beautifully landscaped garden, guests can enjoy the boules pitch and ping pong table or the hammock for quieter moments. There is also a children’s play area and even a chicken coop at the end of the garden where you can often collect fresh eggs.
For guests wishing to keep active, there is a gym room with a Pilates reformer – imagine an early morning yoga session or circuit followed by a swim in the pool as a great start to the day! For those of you who wish to truly unwind, relax in the jacuzzi under the stars on the raised terrace overlooking the vines – a truly tranquil and magical setting.
Experience a spot of pampering by making the most of the hammam and brand new sauna (at an extra cost). The owners can also organise massages, wine-tastings, a private chef and other fantastic services with advance notice.
Lazing on the brilliant beaches of the Côte d’Azur, discovering the magical region of Provence, browsing the local markets, visiting vineyards and sampling the finest Côtes de Provence wines, hiking or just idling your days away by the pool, Les Cigales offers the perfect base to enjoy the beauty of the South of France. Ideal for family reunions, weekends away with friends or special occasions all year round.

Location
About the surrounding area of Les CigalesLes Cigales is set in a pretty hamlet in the vines of a prestigious vineyard, a five-minute drive from an old Provençal village in the Var department of southern France.
The local village, just under 4km away, is full of charm with its winding lanes and historic buildings, pretty fountains and panoramic views from the top where you can admire many of the vineyards that make up the surrounding landscape. As well as restaurants, cafes and shops, you’ll find the wonderful Farmer’s market on a Friday morning. There is also a supermarket complex just a couple of kilometres from the villa, en route to the village.
Other great Farmer’s markets to discover include Pierrefeu-du-Var (8km) on a Saturday, the coastal town of Le Lavandou (40km) on a Thursday morning and Hyères (24km) on a Sunday morning (when there is also an atmospheric flea market/brocante). A little closer to home, Puget-Ville (5km) also has a brocante on a Sunday morning.
Wine-tasting is a given in this region which produces some of the greatest Côtes de Provence wines as well as other well-known appellations. Wine-tasting and vineyard tours can be arranged by the owners and you can buy wine from the vineyard next door.
The Var region offers so much across all the seasons. There are many hiking trails through the hills, cycling and mountain biking are popular in the area and horse-riding stables can be found within a few minutes by car. There are also tennis courts within 5km and various golf courses including Golf de Valcros, near La Londe, around half an hour away.
Despite this rural location, the beaches of the French Riviera can be easily reached. The nearest beach is in La Londe-les-Maures, around half an hour away or head to the lovely seaside town of Le Lavandou (40km) with its sandy beaches, including Plage de Saint-Clair which has been voted as one of France's most beautiful beaches. La Presqu'île de Giens (30km), just south of Hyères is also superb or head further east to the incredible La Croix Valmer coastline, especially wonderful for walkers who can follow the coastal path and come across unique beaches such as Plage de Gigaro (70km).
Hyères (24km) is a beautiful city to explore, as is Toulon (25km) with its great harbour. The well-known fishing village of Saint-Tropez (70km) is just over an hour away; make sure you visit the world-famous Pampelonne Beach with its exclusive beach clubs such as Le Club-55, often frequented by celebrities. Perhaps combine the day out with a visit to one of the many idyllic villages such as Gassin, Ramatuelle, La Môle or Bormes-les-Mimosas.
Take a boat from one of the harbours to some lovely islands just off the coast, including Porquerolles with its magnificent beaches. The island can be explored by foot or bicycle; take a picnic for a great trip out with all the family.
For another spectacular day out, head inland to the famous Verdon Gorge (120km), one of France’s most amazing natural wonders and a great place to hire boats, kayaks and canoes.

We had the best time and made very special memories
We recently chose to stay at Les Cigales to celebrate 2 x special birthdays and it was truly breathtaking. Not only was the house and the surroundings stunning but Jane made the whole experience so easy.
For one of the birthdays, Jane helped us organise a private chef who was spectacular and really helped to make the experience special.
In addition, Jane also helped us arrange a vineyard tour which was a great experience.
The house had absolutely everything we could need and we loved it that much we ended up spending most the days by the pool and stayed in and cooked most evenings in the outdoor kitchen.
Our children also loved it and were able to collect fresh eggs from the hens at the bottom of the garden. There were endless things to do, such as; sauna, home gym facilities, private pool, bowls, supermarkets 5 min drive away and most importantly relax!
As a family we had the best time and made very special memories at Les Cigales, would highly recommend and we will certainly be wanting to book again in the future. -
We had the best time
We had the best time at Les Cigales! The home is beautiful and spacious, and stocked with everything you could need. Our favorite part of the home were all of the outdoor amenities. The landscaping is beautifully planned and maintained, and there were so many places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The pool, spa, sauna, and boules court provided endless entertainment. Our children loved the chickens, rabbits, and fish pond, and looked forward to seeing them all each day. The fresh eggs, fruit, and vegetables from the grounds were also a highlight for us. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating, providing us with many great recommendations of things to do in the area and assisting with making reservations as needed. The location of the house was also great, as it was private yet very close to town and a supermarket. It was a great central spot to easily do day trips to the beach, wineries, Gorges du Verdon, many historic villages and cities with great museums, and even Italy! We really could not have asked for a more perfect holiday!

WOW WOW WOW, Les Cigales is simply TERRIFIC.
WOW WOW WOW, Les Cigales is simply TERRIFIC.
We had the most amazing time, relaxing around the stunning pool, and sipping chilled rosé in the jacuzzi perched and admiring the beautiful Provence vines.
We prepared dishes in the outside kitchen, using local produce and herbs fresh from the bountiful gardens and followed with a boules game in the evenings on the immaculately prepared pitch.
The villa itself is perfect – a tasteful décor lovely art, spacious rooms, a lovely covered terrace for dining and airy bedrooms with the comfiest of beds and balconies affording spectacular views over the Provence countryside.

We will stay longer next time!!!
An amazing villa, everything you need for a perfect holiday away from the madding crowd. Surrounded by stunning vineyards (the most delicious pale rosé) and all the comforts from squeaky clean beds scented with lavender, to a fully fitted kitchen. Ample room for all as it sleeps 12. One of the best bits is the garden which is simply enchanting, boasting a large swimming pool with multiple seating/sunbathing areas… to a large Al Fresco dinning area and a raised hot tub with spectacular views of the surrounding vineyard.
There is even a Hammam (an extra well worth while out of season) and well- equipped gym. Jane is the best host, she catered for everything we needed but also gave us space to enjoy our stay.
We will stay longer next time!!!

We had the most amazing family holiday
We had a fantastic week at the villa. We all liked it from the moment we arrived and it only got better the more we explored its many spaces. It has everything a large family group needs; very well-equipped kitchens, big pool, generous and secluded grounds and many places to sit and chat in larger or smaller groups. Jane was extremely helpful and welcoming throughout. The nearby coastal towns of Hyeres and Le lavandou were fabulous, along with all the markets and vineyards. We had the most amazing family holiday.

I can’t wait to come back!!!
LES CIGALES was undoubtedly the best villa I have EVER stayed in. 11 of us spent a fabulous week in the most beautiful property I have ever seen. Jane looked after us so well, not only when we were actually on our holiday but in the t-run up to the trip as well.
We just absolutely loved it!!! The beds are extremely comfortable, everything was clean, the pool was fantastic and the gardens beautifully manicured. I can’t wait to come back!!!

Truly a magnificent GEM
This villa is the most beautiful I have ever stayed in and I travel for my job. This is truly a magnificent GEM nestled in the heart of vines and spectacular Provencal countryside. The owner, Jane, has put a huge amount of time into creating a home from home only a whole lot better. The design and feel of the villa are so carefully and tastefully done, while feeling very personal and not at all ‘corporate to let’ like some properties we have stayed in. The attention to detail is incredible!
Everything has been taken care of in terms of the supplies within the house of linens, crockery etc. The kitchen has salt, pepper and spices etc which we replaced as we used but it meant that it was easy to cook as all the basics (and more) are there. The kitchen has 2 dishwashers, large fridge with ice, a separate small fridge for cold drinks and an outside kitchen with a plancha and ice making machine, making day to day cooking and cleaning enjoyable rather than a chore. The outside spaces each have their own feel – the back of the villa is very practical for dining and gets the morning sun so great for breakfast and enjoyable shade in the afternoon. The pool area has plenty of options for sun and shade seating and the pool itself is actually big enough to feel like you can have a proper swim. The scents, sounds and visions of true Provence are everywhere.
The villa is right in the middle of vines and is very peaceful. The small town of Cuers is a few minutes’ drive and has cafes, butchers’ bakers etc and a market on Friday mornings. It’s fairly sleepy but none the worse for that! The beautiful coast (which boasts the most beautiful beaches in France) is 30-40 minutes away and a visit to the Golden Islands or Porquerolles is a must. There is a good large Intermarche supermarket 5 mins drive away.
Jane is amazing – incredibly friendly full of useful advice on the villa and area and very quick to respond to any queries in advance of our travels and during our stay. We booked the private chef on a couple of evenings during our 2 weeks stay which we can’t recommend highly enough as a wonderful holiday treat!
We would have loved to have been able to stay for many more weeks and hope to be able to return and share with other family and friends next year.
Thank you so much for the holiday of a lifetime!

Les Cigales is simply MAGICAL!
Les Cigales is simply MAGICAL! Our party of five adults and four children (ages 9-17) spent a week and wanted to stay forever. The villa is even more beautiful than the pictures, surrounded by amazing vineyards with delicious Provence wines. Every day we took a trip to a gorgeous place nearby, including lavender fields in Valensole, beaches in Le Lavandou, and the Ile de Porquerolles (you definitely need a car to get to the villa and explore). Afternoons, we relaxed by the glimmering pool with local wine, played lawn games, checked in on the adorable chickens (fresh eggs every morning) and bunnies, and made dinner in the fantastic kitchen using produce and herbs from the gardens. A real standout is owner Jane, who met us with wine and produce, arranged a private vineyard tour for us, a private chef who cooked us an amazing six course meal and gave the BEST recommendations. We are already planning our return – Les Cigales is our heaven.

THIS IS TRULY A 5-STAR EXPERIENCE
THIS IS TRULY A 5-STAR EXPERIENCE
The villa is AMAZING and the owner has thought of everything and provided us with all the necessary advice and amenities for a magic holiday.
The location is perfect nestled in the vines of Provence. All the rooms, beds, bathrooms, pool and surroundings are fabulous. Walking through the vines at night, gazing at the stars is a memory we will cherish forever.
We absolutely loved our stay – no one in our group wanted to leave after the 6 nights there. Thank you!
WE WILL BE BACK!!! -
Undoubtedly the most amazing holiday!
We had the most wonderful 10 days (which was too short!) in Les Cigales and, the owner, Jane took amazing care of everything we needed. The villa is spectacular – the kids loved the pool and trampoline and even the babies could play on the shallow ledge of the pool which has been designed especially. We were 3 families with 4 children and 2 babies which is normally quite difficult to accommodate but this villa was just perfect, providing cots and high chairs along with toys and entertainment for everyone – not at one moment did we feel on top of one another!
Almost every evening we had dinner on the beautiful back terrace once the babies were safely tucked up in bed. There is everything one could dream of in the kitchen – which made preparing meals a delight along with 2 dishwashers for the ease of the cleaning up!
There was a well-equipped gym with a pilates reformer which us girls just adored and weights for the men. I went for a morning run which was splendid.
In short – it was most undoubtedly the most amazing smooth holiday I have ever had with friends and all our children.

Magic, Magnificent, Spectacular, Beautiful, Amazing
Magic, Magnificent, Spectacular, Beautiful Amazing….
There are not enough words to describe LES CIGALES experience!
We decided to have a long ‘girlie weekend’ and although we pushed our budget a little – it was well worth our wonderful break and the Villa is so much more beautiful than the photos which seduced us to book!!!
We left on Thursday and caught a flight to Nice where we had booked a car and the journey to the villa was really easy – motorway all the way and Jane met us at the local supermarket which is only 5 minutes from the villa.
When we arrived, we were totally blown away by the spectacular setting…an oasis in the middle of vines and just parking the car transports you into another world!!!
We had plans to visit a vineyard or visiting a beach and discovering the local area (of which the choice of activities is huge) but ended up not wanting to leave our own paradise, drinking local chilled rosé, barbecuing (there is a fabulous outside kitchen with a plancha) and chilling around the spectacular pool which is like an oasis.
The villa is superbly equipped and Jane is so gracious that we felt completely at home the moment we arrived until the end of our stay.
The only complaint we have is that we should have stayed longer but we will definitely come again!
Thank you for letting us share such a fabulous experience.

I will NEVER forget it
The villa was beyond anything we were hoping for – beautifully decorated, huge amounts of space both inside and out, and little touches everywhere to make it utterly picturesque and special. I particularly loved the dressing gowns and rosé wine!!
The view around the villa is phenomenal and we spent many an evening with a glass of wine just watching the sunset on the vineyards. The kitchen facilities are fantastic, as is the plancha and outside eating space which was more than big enough for my group of 12 people. The sleeping situation was also perfect – with a couple who slept in the gym room which can be converted into a bedroom with shower and loo.
I am so glad I booked this villa to celebrate my 40th birthday – I will NEVER forget it and hope to go back very very soon.

Hollywood in Provence is not descriptive enough!!!
The villa and scenery offer a luxury experience that cannot be captured through pictures. Hollywood in Provence is not descriptive enough!!!
I booked Les Cigales for a family gathering (my parent’s birthday) which included kids of all ages - we all had the most wonderful experience. It is also a great place for friends if you’d like to chill in the country side and be surrounded by nature, good food and wine!
I ran 10 km every morning with my brother around the vines and towards the hills breathing in the pure fresh air. It’s the kind of run you do that reminds me of how lucky you are to be alive…I live in London, so I am not used to having so much nature around it was simply heaven.
We cooked in the fabulous outside kitchen and swam in the magnificent pool, finishing with cocktails in the jacuzzi in the evenings. The morning sunrises are sublime and the setting sun sets the sky alight before the stars start to twinkle (helped by the delicious rosé)!!!
There are also a lot of family activities available in the villa which makes it easy for everyone to find something to do without having to go anywhere.
Jane was absolutely amazing, very friendly and helpful with recommendations. We booked her private chef Alain who prepared the best birthday meal I have ever tasted and we had a fabulous party with some friends who we invited for the evening. My parents had the best birthday ever of which they will cherish the memory forever.
Don’t hesitate to book, trust me, this is a very special place that you will never find anywhere else!

Les Cigales was just absolutely stunning
Les Cigales was just absolutely stunning and an oasis for us in Provence. Exactly what a big group of 5 couples traveling on a France road trip needed when traveling from Nice, Provence to Lyon. Cuers is right smack in the middle and allows for easy access to either Saint Tropez, Hyeres, Marseille, Cannes, Nice, or Plateau Valensole. The accommodation was simply stunning, redecorated from an old barn, the rooms actually look better and more spacious than the already tempting photos! We enjoyed four wonderful nights cooking up a feast, enjoying the plancha and of course the many wines the area has to offer. Jane was incredibly welcoming and helpful from the beginning to the end of our stay - it is fantastic to be able to be guided by someone who really knows the region rather than taking pot luck from the internet. The villa also has a very useful house book with lots of great ideas of things to do.
If you are traveling in a big group of up to 12 people, Les Cigales is exactly the right destination for you. Our only wish is that we could have spent more afternoons around the heated pool just chilling with wines and friends, which means more nights (on hindsight perhaps next time)! Get this villa for your choice in Provence if its available (we were very lucky)! Simply our best accommodation throughout the whole of France!!! -
We only regret that we could not have stayed longer!
We wanted to go away as a family for Easter and spend 10 days savouring Provence and its local culture. My sister was to join us from Italy and my parents were coming from the states. We all joined up at Nice airport and rented cars to drive to Les Cigales. Jane, the owner, met us at the local supermarket and our adventure began.
The villa surpassed our expectations as it is located in a peaceful location with wonderful walks from the door and there are numerous amenities within easy driving distance. Easter is a charming time of year in Provence as everything is fresh and waking up to brace itself for summer. The weather was great and even the couple of days drizzle we had did not worry us in the slightest as we prepared scrumptious feasts and savoured them on the immense table in the sitting room, sipping delicious regional wine from the vineyards we visited. Easter Sunday was the best as we decorated the table and hid eggs in the garden for the children. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi an took the option hammam along with a couple of massages.
We only regret that we could not have stayed longer!

Far better than described!
We spent a wonderful few days at Les Cigales, in a very calm area in the middle of vines and conveniently located 5 minutes away from a large supermarket. The villa is far better than described, plenty of space to accommodate guests, large dining table for memorable dinners with friends and family. Beautiful swimming pool, fantastic jacuzzi, a pétanque pitch, plenty of activities for entertainment for everyone. The flight to Nice was easy and the journey very feasible for a long weekend. The owner made us feel at ease from the very first contact, was very accommodating and available all during our stay. We are all looking forward to returning to this beautiful villa and a special thank you to Jane, you are a wonderful host.

WOW!!!
There is just one word that describes this accommodation: WOW!!!
I spent days and hours looking for a villa that fitted the need of our family (11) in total for my parents special wedding anniversary celebration in March, we did not want to travel too far but fancied a change of country and believe me, I could not have made a better choice! The villa is impeccably clean and most importantly, extremely well equipped, welcoming and beautiful. You can just feel the love and passion that was put into creating this little paradise. Rest assured when considering this villa: it looks even more beautiful in real life that on the pictures that inspired us to book.
There is so much to do and visit in this part of France and wonderful out of season. We went to the island of Porquerolles, visited the Italian market on Tuesday in San Remo, Monaco, Cannes, Nice, Moustiers san Marie, had wonderful lunches in the little Provencal villages, colourful markets, wine tasting and many other outings. The jacuzzi is fabulous and warm and we really enjoyed savouring cocktails in the evenings after our wonderful day trips. We could have stayed for months before discovering everything the area has to offer.
My parents had the most wonderful wedding anniversary week possible with all their loved ones and they will cherish the memories for ever. Jane is the most fantastic owner and a great tour guide; she is always available and made us feel completely at home. We most definitely will be back but hopefully for longer. -
She said YES!
I wanted a special place to ask my girlfriend to marry me on St. Valentine’s Day and as she is in love with Provence, I decided to look for a villa which could accommodate our respective family’s (12 in total). It was to be a surprise and therefore quite difficult to arrange from a distance but the owner was just AMAZING, and helped me to organise everything. My girlfriend said yes (pretty sure it had a lot to do with the villa which she said is the villa of her dreams) and we spent an amazing 4 days celebrating. We want to come back after the wedding with friends to share our wonderful secret paradise.

A dream
Where to start! Your house is outstanding, a dream, we fell in love from the first second, such good taste and fine details. Our wedding brunch at your location was such a dream: with friends and family playing pétanque, ping pong, badminton, singing karaoke and a blind test by the pool, with our family and friends and in laws bonding! It is a memory we will cherish for a lifetime. But what amazed us in addition to your incredible house is your warm welcome, big heart and kindness with us - you welcomed us like friends, made us feel at home and you have been an angel.

Thank you

Beautiful home
Wow! Where do we start? Your beautiful home was the setting for a wonderful week with 2 dear families and ourselves. The children loved the pool - and were thrilled to discover the disco lights which allowed them to swim in the darkness. The chickens and bunnies were very well fed - rewarding us with fresh eggs each day. The best evening by far was when Alain came to cook for us - he is a genius. Our tours to the vineyards have resulted in our bags/cars bursting at the seams. Thank you again for opening up your beautiful 'labour of love' so we can enjoy the perfect execution of a villa in Provence.

Lovely stay
Thank you so much for a lovely stay! This home is beautiful. Every nook and corner is so thoughtfully decorated and anything we could possibly need we found here. Our kids loved the pool and the outdoor gardens and we all really got to relax. Your recommendation for vineyards and bakery was excellent. Thank you for providing all that info. We loved our time here and hope to be back here one day again.

For everyone!
We've had an idyllic holiday - perfect for entertaining 3 year olds to 40-50 something’s! The pool was lovely and we used it every day. It was a completely relaxing contrast to our usual hectic lifestyles. The house and setting is absolutely beautiful and we'd love to come back. A la prochaine fois!

Perfect setting for a celebration!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with these rowdy Texans. This was a perfect setting to celebrate our 40th Anniversary with our friends. The ambiance, tranquil setting, friendliness and comfortable home (magnificent kitchen and pool area) all contributed to our fun and relaxing stay. We also immensely enjoyed dinner at Bistreau Ryon in Lavandou. As the first Texans to stay in your home we are proud to state "Layfayette" we have returned. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Perfect for a family reunion!
We travelled from Scotland, Sweden and Oman to have a fabulous holiday at Les Cigales. The weather was excellent, apart from 2 days of the summer "Mistral". The house was equipped with everything we needed and the pool was greatly enjoyed by the children. Many thanks.
