Overview
Close to Saint-Tropez, the Maures forest and the sandy shores of Port Grimaud, Domaine Du Verger is a wonderful new estate sleeping up to 46 guests across four stylish villas, each with a private pool. Furthermore, a fifth stunning swimming pool awaits where you can all gather for Provençal feasts in the vast pool house or admire Mediterranean landscapes from the roof terrace.
Covering seven hectares in the hills behind Grimaud and Beauvallon, the four villas are beautifully set around an orchard and gardens. Each one has been thoughtfully designed with ample living and dining spaces, air-conditioning throughout and even glimpses of the glistening sea from many of the al-fresco terraces and gardens.
Offering flexible options for a family reunion or large get-together, many of the 25 bedrooms can be made up as a queen-size double or twin and most have their own private bath or shower room. Enjoy a peaceful breakfast on your terrace, perhaps with the aroma of summer lavender, admiring the olive and cypress trees in this idyllic French Riviera setting.
Cool off in your villa’s private swimming pool or wander up to the communal 20m long heated pool with its superb pool house. Sunbathe on the poolside gardens or roof terrace, play ping pong and table football in the games room or kick back in the pool house with sliding doors framing the magnificent vista.
Saint-Tropez is merely 11km away, an enchanting former fishing village with a glamourous vibe, historic old town and atmospheric markets, not to mention the famous beach clubs and watersports of Plage de Pampelonne. Closer to home are many more delightful spots from the family-friendly beaches and activities of Sainte-Maxime to the charm of Port Grimaud with its Venetian style waterways, perfect to explore by boat.
Awaken your senses at Grimaud’s Thursday morning Provençal market or hunt for antiques on a Sunday, followed by lunch in a picturesque restaurant set in the village’s medieval flower-filled lanes. Other picture-perfect places dotted across the Côte d'Azur hinterland include Ramatuelle and Gassin or head into the Maures forest for long hikes and characterful hilltop villages surrounded by oak, pine and chestnut trees.

Location
About the surrounding area of Domaine Du VergerDomaine Du Verger is set across a seven-hectare estate in the hills behind Grimaud and Beauvallon, a short drive to the beach and around 11km from glamourous Saint-Tropez.
Drive down to the beaches around Port Grimaud for sandy shores and a range of watersports or continue onwards to the relaxed seaside resort of Sainte-Maxime. Across this bay you will find inviting restaurants, some by the sea, and a good range of supermarkets for all your essentials within a short distance.
Around 8km away is the hilltop village of Grimaud, a delightful place for lovely restaurants, café-bars and artisan shops along its flower-filled lanes. The Sunday morning antique market is especially charming whilst the Provençal market on a Thursday morning will awaken your senses with delicious regional produce for sale.
Down by the coast, Port Grimaud is another perfect spot for a morning out exploring – hire a boat to tour the waterways and admire the pretty houses and little bridges, then stop off for lunch by the marina.
Saint-Tropez is of course one of the most exciting draws of this area, reached by car in around 11km or beat the summer traffic by picking up a ferry from Port Grimaud. As well as its glitzy marina, impressive boutiques and upmarket restaurants, you can also soak up the charm of Saint-Tropez’ old town with its warren of winding lanes. Don’t miss the atmospheric Provençal market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning whilst beach lovers should head to Plage de Pampelonne with its watersports and trendy beach clubs.
Other picture-perfect villages dotted across this part of the Côte d'Azur hinterland include Cogolin, Ramatuelle and Gassin or head into the Maures Massif, passing chestnut, oak and pine forests, to visit La Garde-Freinet and Le Plan-de-la-Tour.
To experience a wilder part of the coastline, the beaches close to La Croix Valmer are a must - Plage de Gigaro is idyllic and there are some superb coastal walking trails as far as the incredible Cap Lardier. On your way back to Grimaud, stop off in La Croix Valmer’s vineyards to purchase some exceptional Côtes de Provence wine grown in this micro-climate of sunlight and sea air.

Region
Once a traditional fishing village, Saint-Tropez is now one of the most glamourous destinations of the Côte d’Azur and welcomes visitors from across the world.
However, there’s more to Saint-Tropez bay than exclusive beach clubs, glitzy boutiques and fine dining restaurants. From the family-friendly beaches of Sainte-Maxime to the vineyards of La Croix Valmer, Oliver’s Travels guests can truly admire this enchanting corner of the French Riviera whilst staying in one of our handpicked villas in and around Saint-Tropez.
Soak up the luxurious yet laidback vibe of Saint-Tropez as you wander around its marina lined with huge yachts contrasting colourful fishermen’s houses overlooking the bay. The old quarter is a warren of winding lanes with French designer boutiques, picturesque cafes and restaurants whilst Place des Lices hosts a vibrant Provençal market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning. Enjoy the most glorious vistas from Saint-Tropez’s 17th century citadel and maritime museum. Boat trips are another superb way to tour this part of the coast and passenger ferries cross the bay.
Just south of the town, follow Brigitte Bardot’s footsteps as you visit one of Plage de Pampelonne’s exclusive beach clubs, the most famous being Le Club 55 (always book well in advance). Stretching over 5km, Pampelonne’s long sandy beach is also loved for its vast range of summer watersports including jet-skiing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.
The picture-perfect villages of Saint-Tropez bay are beautifully located to make the most of the French Riviera scenery. On the hillside overlooking Plage de Pampelonne, Ramatuelle has attracted artists and writers over the years and is full of charm – look out for performances during its theatre and jazz festivals in the summer months. Meanwhile, hilltop Gassin is classified as one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages’ whilst flower-filled Grimaud is such a pretty medieval village with yet more stunning views of the coast.
Driving into the Maures hills, discover the characterful villages of La Garde-Freinet and Le Plan-de-la-Tour surrounded by oak and chestnut forests, a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, horse-riding enthusiasts and other outdoor adventurists.
Back to the coast, take a boat tour of Port Grimaud, known as the ‘little Venice of the Côte d’Azur’, and experience its atmospheric Monday evening summer market. Across the other side of the bay, Sainte-Maxime is a lovely sheltered seaside town with pretty cafes, a daily market and gorgeous beaches. Families adore this area – there are tree-top adventures, tennis, mini-golf, a water park and coastal paths for biking and hiking.
Golf-lovers can appreciate a choice of courses – Golf Blue Green as well as the prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club and Golf Club Saint-Tropez. Wine connoisseurs should head to the wine châteaux of Saint-Tropez and Pampelonne as well as the vineyards of La Croix Valmer.
Not forgetting the idyllic shores of soft sand and crystal-clear sea of La Croix Valmer’s coastline from Plage de Sylvabelle to Plage de Gigaro, also home to a wonderful coastal walking trail with the most incredible flora and fauna alongside sensational views of the Mediterranean as you hike towards Cap Lardier and beyond.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesFrom Sainte Maxime to Saint-Tropez and beyond, this part of the French Riviera offers a wealth of activities for families with children of every age.
There is a great range of beaches within a short drive. Plage de Port Grimaud is a lovely sandy beach with beautiful bay views – look out for watersports such as jet-skis, parasailing and paddle canoes as well as dinghy hire. Sainte-Maxime is also popular with families and offers water-based activities whilst famous Pampelonne Beach is another must-visit just south of Saint-Tropez.
In the area of Grimaud, find go-karting, paint-balling, horse-riding and some wonderful walks with coastal views or in the Maures forests. In the height of the summer, Azur Park near Gassin opens its doors in the evening for amusement rides and other exciting attractions. There’s also mini-golf from April to October.
Of course, boat trips are a fantastic way to appreciate the Côte d'Azur whether it’s a ferry from Port Grimaud to Saint-Tropez or a number of sight-seeing excursions. You can also hire a little boat to tour the charming marina of Port Grimaud, like a little Venice of the French Riviera.
