Maison du Pont is a stunning villa for an active yet relaxing holiday in Saint-Tropez, just a short distance from the sandy shores of Plage de Pampelonne.

Starting off in the large flower-filled garden, there is ample space for chilling out by the swimming pool, playing pétanque, cooking up a feast in the outdoor kitchen, then dining al-fresco with family and friends. At the end of the garden there is a charming pond with a bridge, fountain and little island to add to the picturesque ambience.  

The villa interiors are spacious and stylish with a wood-beamed lounge and gorgeous sofas leading through to a dining area and contemporary kitchen, all with doors opening out to the terrace and swimming pool. The villa features six bedrooms and bathrooms as well as a fantastic games lounge and gym. Guests will also appreciate the relaxation space with a sauna, hammam and massage area.

The villa and its grounds enjoys a prime setting on the road connecting Saint-Tropez and Plage de Pampelonne. Indeed, in just 2.5km you could be strolling along the sandy shores of the northern part of Saint-Tropez’s iconic beach or head a little further south to the exclusive beach clubs of Le Club 55 and Nikki Beach. Pampelonne is also loved for its great range of summer watersports.

In the other direction is the glitz of Saint-Tropez’s old town, a joy to explore with its upmarket restaurants, boutiques, galleries and harbourfront showcasing luxurious yachts. Charter a boat and skipper for a tour of the French Riviera or simply hop on a ferry across Saint-Tropez bay to experience the beauty of this part of the Mediterranean.

Maison du Pont enjoys a fantastic location only 2.5km from the heart of Saint-Tropez and a short drive (or cycle ride) to Plage de Pampelonne.

In an area of vineyards and residences, the villa is located on the main road that connects Saint-Tropez bay to the iconic Pampelonne Beach. It’s only 2.5km to the northern part of Pampelonne with summer beachside restaurants and long sandy shores. Further south along the beach are Nikki Beach (4.5km) and Le Club 55 (3.6km). Plage de Pampelonne is loved not only for its exclusive beach clubs but also a great range of summer watersports.

In the other direction, the heart of Saint-Tropez is also close by – in just over 2km you could be drinking coffee at Place des Lices or experiencing the twice-weekly Provençal market. Stroll a little further towards the waterfront and admire the luxury yachts by the harbour, then potter around the boutiques, galleries and artisan shops. Listen out for the church bells as you wander through the old quarter, then climb the citadel for the glorious views of Saint-Tropez bay.

From Saint-Tropez, take a ferry across to Sainte-Maxime (15km), a charming seaside town with a lovely market, restaurant terraces, more great beaches and other family attractions. Slightly closer is Port Grimaud (7.5km) – tour the pretty canals by boat and look out for the evening market in July and August.

Elsewhere, drive up to the picture-perfect hilltop village of Ramatuelle (8km) or pass Saint-Tropez’s wineries and vineyards (including Château Minuty) as you head to perched Gassin (9km). Flower-filled Grimaud (12km) is another gem of the region or continue further into the Maures hills to La Garde-Freinet (21km) surrounded by chestnut and oak forests.

There are more wonderful vineyards around La Croix Valmer (13km) as well as an idyllic coastline – look out for Plage de Gigaro and Sylvabelle, both around 15-16km by car. If you can find the time, the long sandy beach at Cavalaire-sur-Mer (18km) will especially appeal to families with its ‘Famille Plus’ designation.

From the family-friendly beaches of Sainte-Maxime to the vineyards of La Croix Valmer, Oliver’s Travels guests can truly admire this enchanting corner of the French Riviera whilst staying in one of our handpicked villas in and around Saint-Tropez.

Soak up the luxurious yet laidback vibe of Saint-Tropez as you wander around its marina lined with huge yachts contrasting colourful fishermen’s houses overlooking the bay. The old quarter is a warren of winding lanes with French designer boutiques, picturesque cafes and restaurants whilst Place des Lices hosts a vibrant Provençal market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning. Enjoy the most glorious vistas from Saint-Tropez’s 17th century citadel and maritime museum. Boat trips are another superb way to tour this part of the coast and passenger ferries cross the bay.

Just south of the town, follow Brigitte Bardot’s footsteps as you visit one of Plage de Pampelonne’s exclusive beach clubs, the most famous being Le Club 55 (always book well in advance). Stretching over 5km, Pampelonne’s long sandy beach is also loved for its vast range of summer watersports including jet-skiing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.

The picture-perfect villages of Saint-Tropez bay are beautifully located to make the most of the French Riviera scenery. On the hillside overlooking Plage de Pampelonne, Ramatuelle has attracted artists and writers over the years and is full of charm – look out for performances during its theatre and jazz festivals in the summer months. Meanwhile, hilltop Gassin is classified as one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages’ whilst flower-filled Grimaud is such a pretty medieval village with yet more stunning views of the coast.

Driving into the Maures hills, discover the characterful villages of La Garde-Freinet and Le Plan-de-la-Tour surrounded by oak and chestnut forests, a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, horse-riding enthusiasts and other outdoor adventurists.

Back to the coast, take a boat tour of Port Grimaud, known as the ‘little Venice of the Côte d’Azur’, and experience its atmospheric Monday evening summer market. Across the other side of the bay, Sainte-Maxime is a lovely sheltered seaside town with pretty cafes, a daily market and gorgeous beaches. Families adore this area – there are tree-top adventures, tennis, mini-golf, a water park and coastal paths for biking and hiking.

Golf-lovers can appreciate a choice of courses – Golf Blue Green as well as the prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club and Golf Club Saint-Tropez. Wine connoisseurs should head to the wine châteaux of Saint-Tropez and Pampelonne as well as the vineyards of La Croix Valmer.

Not forgetting the idyllic shores of soft sand and crystal-clear sea of La Croix Valmer’s coastline from Plage de Sylvabelle to Plage de Gigaro, also home to a wonderful coastal walking trail with the most incredible flora and fauna alongside sensational views of the Mediterranean as you hike towards Cap Lardier and beyond.

This spacious villa features a fantastic games lounge and plenty of space outside to play pétanque and swim in the good-sized swimming pool. The large pond in the garden with delight all ages (young children will of course need supervising outside).

The northern end of Plage de Pampelonne is 2.5km away – one of the French Riviera’s most famous beaches, families love the sandy shores, beachside restaurants (some especially exclusive) and watersport opportunities along this 5km-long stretch of coastline.

In the area around Saint-Tropez and Grimaud there are plenty of family attractions including Azur Park (open on summer evenings), go-karting, a tree-top adventure centre, mini-golf and more watersports at Plage Grimaud. Not to mention various boat excursions from Saint-Tropez, Port Grimaud and Sainte-Maxime.  

Indeed, Sainte-Maxime also offers family-friendly activities including great beaches, a tourist road train and, just outside the town, a waterpark and tree-top activity centre with mini-golf. In the other direction, Cavalaire-sur-Mer’s long sandy beach is also wonderful, as is the seaside town with its ‘Famille Plus’ label.
