Sitting in an exclusive location in the hills around Gassin, overlooking Saint-Tropez and the sea beyond, Villa Camus is the perfect place to stay for a holiday on the French Riviera. This modern and spacious home can sleep up to twelve guests in six chic bedrooms, making it a great base for a break with extended family or a group of friends.

As you enter the villa, you will find yourself in rooms flooded with natural light and beautiful decor. Contemporary yet also filled with warm tones in the soft furnishings and artwork, the design of this villa will appeal to all. The main living areas are set on the first floor in order to make the most of the incredible sea views, which can be seen from each room and from the vast terraces. The living room has large comfortable sofas and is a relaxing spot to unwind with a glass of local rosé wine in the evening. Adjacent to the living space is the open planned dining room and kitchen, which is fitted with top-of-the-range appliances and eye-catching marble.

Whether you prefer dining al-fresco with views of the setting sun over the Riviera or enjoying a bowl of popcorn in the cinema room, this house has plenty of comfortable space for large groups to get together.

All six beautiful bedrooms are thoughtfully designed. Two are set on the ground floor, three on the first floor and the final bedroom is on the second floor. All of the rooms boast a neutral palette with pops of calming colours, and each of the rooms has access to outdoor space and a high-end en-suite bathroom.

The outside space is just as wonderful as the interiors of the home. Guests can relax in the leafy grounds of the garden in the shade of a tree, swim in the private pool or dine al-fresco soaking in the wraparound views.

The homeowners have plenty of experience hosting guests as they also manage a local 5* hotel. The elegant feel of the hotel can be felt in the gorgeous house, and everything guests could need has been thought of, including a gym, a cinema room and air conditioning. Guests are also able to book a whole range of extra services while staying at Villa Camus, such as a driver, a butler, transfers from the airport and even a masseur. The hotel is also close by, and those staying at the villa can use the brilliant facilities there; you could choose to have your breakfast prepared at the house or indulge in the hotel buffet breakfast. If you would like a foot massage or a facial, why not book a treatment at the hotel spa and then unwind in the relaxation area. You can even reserve a table at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant, just a short walk away.

As Villa Camus is a mere 6km away from Saint-Tropez, you can be wandering around the bustling streets in no time at all. Saint-Tropez is well known for its wide range of beaches, and whether you prefer to spend your days trying out water sports or making use of the exclusive beach clubs, there is a beach here which offers something for everyone. One of the most famous beaches is Pampelonne beach, whilst others, such as Gigaro beach, are more off the beaten track and lined with scenic walking routes. As well as a breathtaking coastline, Saint-Tropez has a fantastic range of designer shops, fine-dining restaurants and a charming old town packed with historic buildings.

With the nearest beach just 2km away and the bustling centre of Saint-Tropez town only 6km away, Villa Camus offers guests the ideal location for a holiday exploring the French Riviera.

As the owners also manage an exclusive 5* hotel, just a few minutes' walk away, guests can use the hotel's amazing range of facilities. If you want to head out for the day but do not wish to travel far, then head to the hotel where you can stay all day! Guests can enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast, visit the incredible spa, lounge in the relaxation area and finally indulge in dinner at the gourmet, fine-dining restaurant.

The chic port town of Saint-Tropez is also within easy reach, just 6km away from the villa. Saint-Tropez has transformed over time from a fishing village in the medieval era to the luxurious hub for celebrities and lovers of designer shopping that we see today. The town is a wonderful place to have so close by and has lots to see and do. Of course, there are incredible shopping opportunities, some of the best restaurants in the region, and countless yachts bobbing on the water. There are also other sides to Saint-Tropez, such as a range of beaches; the closest beach to the villa is a tranquil spot called Plage de la Moune, with white sand and clear waters. Saint-Tropez also has some beaches with elegant beach clubs lined with sun loungers where you can sip cocktails from the on-site bars with waiter service, including Bouillabaisse beach and Pampelonne beach. Make sure to spend some time exploring the stunning old town, where you will find an amazing market, ancient churches, museums and a fine art gallery, all clustered around the imposing citadel.

Another town you should definitely add to your itinerary is the sister town of Sainte-Maxime which is 14km away. Sainte-Maxime has beaches such as Nartelle beach, as beautiful as those around the bay in Saint-Tropez, but the town is a little quieter in the height of summer, so you can unwind on the beach with a good book in peace. The town is an excellent place to visit in the late afternoon for a wander around, followed by dinner at one of the authentic seafood restaurants which serve the catch of the day. The town is charming, with historical attractions such as medieval churches, a defensive tower and a lovely folk museum where you can learn about everyday life in times gone by. Sainte-Maxime also often hosts communal celebrations, fetes and saints’ days which are fun to be involved with as everyone gathers together in the pretty town squares enjoying food and music.

A fabulous day trip with family or friends is a boat ride to the nearby Golden islands. Boats depart throughout the day from Saint-Tropez harbour to this collection of three unspoilt islands, the largest of which is Porquerolles. Here you can swim or snorkel in the clear, protected water or take in the scenery on a long hike or bike ride. There are also several cafés and restaurants on the islands, so there is no rush to get back in time for dinner.

Region

Once a traditional fishing village, Saint-Tropez is now one of the most glamourous destinations of the Côte d’Azur and welcomes visitors from across the world.

However, there’s more to Saint-Tropez bay than exclusive beach clubs, glitzy boutiques and fine dining restaurants. From the family-friendly beaches of Sainte-Maxime to the vineyards of La Croix Valmer, Oliver’s Travels guests can truly admire this enchanting corner of the French Riviera whilst staying in one of our handpicked villas in and around Saint-Tropez.

Soak up the luxurious yet laidback vibe of Saint-Tropez as you wander around its marina lined with huge yachts contrasting colourful fishermen’s houses overlooking the bay. The old quarter is a warren of winding lanes with French designer boutiques, picturesque cafes and restaurants whilst Place des Lices hosts a vibrant Provençal market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning. Enjoy the most glorious vistas from Saint-Tropez’s 17th century citadel and maritime museum. Boat trips are another superb way to tour this part of the coast and passenger ferries cross the bay.

Just south of the town, follow Brigitte Bardot’s footsteps as you visit one of Plage de Pampelonne’s exclusive beach clubs, the most famous being Le Club 55 (always book well in advance). Stretching over 5km, Pampelonne’s long sandy beach is also loved for its vast range of summer watersports including jet-skiing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.

The picture-perfect villages of Saint-Tropez bay are beautifully located to make the most of the French Riviera scenery. On the hillside overlooking Plage de Pampelonne, Ramatuelle has attracted artists and writers over the years and is full of charm – look out for performances during its theatre and jazz festivals in the summer months. Meanwhile, hilltop Gassin is classified as one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages’ whilst flower-filled Grimaud is such a pretty medieval village with yet more stunning views of the coast.

Driving into the Maures hills, discover the characterful villages of La Garde-Freinet and Le Plan-de-la-Tour surrounded by oak and chestnut forests, a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, horse-riding enthusiasts and other outdoor adventurists.

Back to the coast, take a boat tour of Port Grimaud, known as the ‘little Venice of the Côte d’Azur’, and experience its atmospheric Monday evening summer market. Across the other side of the bay, Sainte-Maxime is a lovely sheltered seaside town with pretty cafes, a daily market and gorgeous beaches. Families adore this area – there are tree-top adventures, tennis, mini-golf, a water park and coastal paths for biking and hiking.

Golf-lovers can appreciate a choice of courses – Golf Blue Green as well as the prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club and Golf Club Saint-Tropez. Wine connoisseurs should head to the wine châteaux of Saint-Tropez and Pampelonne as well as the vineyards of La Croix Valmer.

Not forgetting the idyllic shores of soft sand and crystal-clear sea of La Croix Valmer’s coastline from Plage de Sylvabelle to Plage de Gigaro, also home to a wonderful coastal walking trail with the most incredible flora and fauna alongside sensational views of the Mediterranean as you hike towards Cap Lardier and beyond.
