A private French Riviera hideaway, yet only a very short drive to the exclusive beach clubs of Saint Tropez’ Plage de Pampelonne, Villa Côte d'Azur is a tranquil paradise set in stunning gardens and woodland with its own heated pool, private tennis court and helipad.

Villa Côte d'Azur exudes an air of understated elegance with its terracotta tiled floors and traditional Provençal interiors. A fruit basket, flowers, groceries, wine and champagne are there for your arrival. The rental price also includes the staff - daily housekeeping, a superb chef and concierge service, and the use of a Mercedes V class "in resort" up to 8pm.

Across this beautiful home, natural tones and graceful décor add to an ambience of space and light. Air-conditioned throughout, the spacious wood-beamed living room opens out to the covered terrace and barbecue for summer dining at its best or prepare feasts in the perfectly equipped French kitchen.

The seven inviting en-suite bedrooms are scattered across the villa, all with doors opening to terraces or balconies, including a studio-style apartment on the lower floor. Even the bathrooms are so pretty, most with romantic bathtubs or walk-in showers.

It’s such a quiet setting, within 3.5 hectares of enclosed grounds featuring oaks, pines and glorious gardens. After a game of tennis on your private court, relax beneath the shade of the al-fresco lounge or find a serene spot by the grand fountain. The heated swimming pool, gated for young guests’ safety, enjoys a vast terrace for sunbathing and dining al-fresco by the poolside summer kitchen.

Passing woodland and vineyards, it’s just over a 5-minute drive down to the sandy shores and exclusive beach clubs of Plage de Pampelonne, Saint-Tropez’ famous beach which also features a vast range of summer watersports. Reserve your place by the pool, restaurant or champagne bar at internationally renowned Nikki Beach or experience the casual vibe at the legendary Le Club 55.

Venture up to the gorgeous village of Ramatuelle, set above Pampelonne Beach, where you can potter around the narrow lanes visiting little art galleries and characterful restaurants, then drive across the winding lanes to soak up the glamour of historic Saint-Tropez, with its upmarket yet charming reputation.

Explore the Mediterranean by private yacht, head out for lunch in picture-perfect spots such as Gassin and Grimaud, hike or cycle through the Maures landscapes or walk along La Croix Valmer coastline – all superb ways to discover the incredible natural beauty of this part of the French Riviera.

Villa Côte d'Azur is in the Var department of southern France, close to the glitz of Saint-Tropez. Reached via an unsurfaced road, this holiday home enjoys such a beautiful and private setting within 3.5 hectares of stunning gardens and woodland, including a private tennis court and helipad. Yet you are only a 7-minute drive from Saint Tropez’ famous Plage de Pampelonne and exclusive beach clubs such as Le Club 55 and Nikki Beach.

A long stretch of sandy shore, gaze out to yachts resting in the bay as you soak up the ambience of Pampelonne Beach, only 2.5km away.  Book ahead if you wish to experience one of the much-loved beach clubs and restaurants, especially in July and August. There is also a great range of watersports along the beach including sea-kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, windsurfing, jet-ski, pedaloes and more.

The former fishing village of Saint-Tropez is 7km away. Experience its charm as you explore the town’s old quarter with its narrow lanes, pretty shops and traditional restaurants, and visit the atmospheric Provençal market on Place des Lices. Of course, there’s also the exclusive boutiques, high-end restaurants and mega yachts in the marina with many A-list celebrities attracted to Saint Tropez’s picture-perfect yet upmarket vibe.

Even closer is the gorgeous hilltop village of Ramatuelle (5km), perched high above Pampelonne beach with the most glorious views of the Mediterranean. With pretty flower-filled lanes, little art galleries and some lovely restaurants, it’s the perfect spot for a relaxing lunch in characterful surroundings.

The traditional villages of Gassin (7km) and Grimaud (17km) are also beautiful places to visit or venture further into the Côte d'Azur hinterland to La Môle (24km) in the Maures hills, a paradise for hikers and experienced cyclists, and La Garde-Freinet (27km), a fortified 11th century village surrounded by cork oaks and chestnut groves.

Guests seeking the authenticity of the French Riviera will also adore the coastline around La Croix Valmer, known for its vineyards, coastal walking trails, beachside restaurants and incredible natural scenery. Plage de Gigaro (15km) and Plage de Sylvabelle (13km) are two wonderful beaches to discover, especially idyllic in quieter months.

Region

Once a traditional fishing village, Saint-Tropez is now one of the most glamourous destinations of the Côte d’Azur and welcomes visitors from across the world.

However, there’s more to Saint-Tropez bay than exclusive beach clubs, glitzy boutiques and fine dining restaurants. From the family-friendly beaches of Sainte-Maxime to the vineyards of La Croix Valmer, Oliver’s Travels guests can truly admire this enchanting corner of the French Riviera whilst staying in one of our handpicked villas in and around Saint-Tropez.

Soak up the luxurious yet laidback vibe of Saint-Tropez as you wander around its marina lined with huge yachts contrasting colourful fishermen’s houses overlooking the bay. The old quarter is a warren of winding lanes with French designer boutiques, picturesque cafes and restaurants whilst Place des Lices hosts a vibrant Provençal market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning. Enjoy the most glorious vistas from Saint-Tropez’s 17th century citadel and maritime museum. Boat trips are another superb way to tour this part of the coast and passenger ferries cross the bay.

Just south of the town, follow Brigitte Bardot’s footsteps as you visit one of Plage de Pampelonne’s exclusive beach clubs, the most famous being Le Club 55 (always book well in advance). Stretching over 5km, Pampelonne’s long sandy beach is also loved for its vast range of summer watersports including jet-skiing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.

The picture-perfect villages of Saint-Tropez bay are beautifully located to make the most of the French Riviera scenery. On the hillside overlooking Plage de Pampelonne, Ramatuelle has attracted artists and writers over the years and is full of charm – look out for performances during its theatre and jazz festivals in the summer months. Meanwhile, hilltop Gassin is classified as one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages’ whilst flower-filled Grimaud is such a pretty medieval village with yet more stunning views of the coast.

Driving into the Maures hills, discover the characterful villages of La Garde-Freinet and Le Plan-de-la-Tour surrounded by oak and chestnut forests, a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, horse-riding enthusiasts and other outdoor adventurists.

Back to the coast, take a boat tour of Port Grimaud, known as the ‘little Venice of the Côte d’Azur’, and experience its atmospheric Monday evening summer market. Across the other side of the bay, Sainte-Maxime is a lovely sheltered seaside town with pretty cafes, a daily market and gorgeous beaches. Families adore this area – there are tree-top adventures, tennis, mini-golf, a water park and coastal paths for biking and hiking.

Golf-lovers can appreciate a choice of courses – Golf Blue Green as well as the prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club and Golf Club Saint-Tropez. Wine connoisseurs should head to the wine châteaux of Saint-Tropez and Pampelonne as well as the vineyards of La Croix Valmer.

Not forgetting the idyllic shores of soft sand and crystal-clear sea of La Croix Valmer’s coastline from Plage de Sylvabelle to Plage de Gigaro, also home to a wonderful coastal walking trail with the most incredible flora and fauna alongside sensational views of the Mediterranean as you hike towards Cap Lardier and beyond.

How fantastic for families to be just a 7-minute drive from the famous long beach, Plage de Pampelonne, with its sandy shores and huge range of watersports. In the summer months, look out for stand-up paddle boarding, sea kayaking, water-skiing, windsurfing, pedaloes and more. The Saint Tropez coastline is also a popular place for snorkeling and diving.

By the coast and in the hinterland you will find horse-riding opportunities and some wonderful walks (especially along La Croix Valmer coastline further west). Heading towards Grimaud and Cogolin, enjoy paintballing and go-karting as well as mini-golf and the amusement park, Azur Park (usually open evenings in the summer months til early September).

Find water parks slightly further afield in Sainte Maxime and Fréjus or make the most of the many boat excursions departing from Saint Tropez. on 17/06/2023

We had a wonderful time. I should attribute our experience to one or another thing but I cannot since the entire visit was outstanding.
The Villa is magnificent and so well cared for and maintained. The design elements both internally and outside are difficult to characterize in a trite word or two. Just outstanding.
