Overview

Pool Villa/House Beach Nearby Ideal for Kids All Bedrooms En-Suite Parking Space

If you are searching for a spacious, contemporary place to stay on your trip to the French Riviera, then look no further than Villa Dreyfus. The villa sits in an elevated position overlooking the stunning Gulf of Saint-Tropez and is only 4.5km away from the centre of Saint-Tropez.

The home is set within a large garden with trees and terraces lined with native planting. Several balconies and terraces look out over the main attraction, the uninterrupted sea views. The outdoor space has been designed for relaxation, so you can focus solely on getting away from it all. When you wish to cool down on a hot day, you can take a dip in the private pool, which is also heated for cooler days. The garden is also the perfect spot to dine-alfresco on a summer's evening.

Indoors, the high-end design and attention to detail continue as you find yourself in a beautifully decorated family home over two floors. The bedrooms are on the ground floor and all open to a veranda where you can wake up with your morning coffee. There is a master suite with a king-sized bed and a chic en-suite bathroom, and three well-appointed double en-suite rooms to choose from. Each room is neutrally decorated and has crisp linens for a great night's sleep.

Upstairs is where you will find the living space, as the home has been designed to make the most of the panoramic views. The large rooms all open out into each other to create a sociable area, with the dining room as the focal point. There is a living room with sofas, armchairs and shelves lined with books, a dining room for gathering together and a fully-fitted kitchen where you can prepare meals yourselves or hire a chef.

The property managers also run a nearby 5* hotel which is one of the finest in the area and guests at the villa are able to make use of the amazing facilities there. You could have breakfast prepared for you at the house or partake in the tasty buffet breakfast at the hotel, before visiting the spa for a facial and a swim or using their well-equipped gym. When you wish to dine out without travelling far you can also reserve a table at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant.

When you would like to see more of the local area Saint-Tropez is not far. This coastal town is known as a magnet for celebrities and those holidaying on the Riviera by yacht in the summer months; so there are plenty of world-class eateries and boutique shops to discover.

Saint-Tropez has a long and varied history which you can see when you wander around the historic port. Make sure to also head inland to the old town to look around the narrow winding streets and see the markets, churches and the citadel. When you wish to visit one of the pristine beaches, you can choose from beaches such as Plage de Pampelonne which is one of the most well-known in the area and has exclusive beach clubs or you could explore the coastline to find a little tucked away swimming spot.

Villa Dreyfus is the perfect place to stay for a break on the French Riviera. With countless beautiful beaches within easy reach, sleepy hilltop villages nearby and the centre of chic Saint-Tropez only 4.5km away, you will never be short of things to see and do.

When you need to pick up some groceries or would like to have lunch out, the closest amenities can be found in Saint-Tropez. Head to the coast early and secure a spot at one of the beach clubs at the Plage de Pampelonne (8.5km) which is a long sandy beach with clear waters where you can unwind for a few hours. Maybe you would prefer a more wild, natural beach, if so, you could try Plage de la Moutte a little further around the coastline which leads to hiking routes through scenic hills.

In the afternoon, avoid the heat of the day by wandering around the shaded narrow streets of Saint Tropez' old town, visiting the citadel and the Musée de l'Annonciade art museum as you explore. Closer to the pretty port you can shop at the Place aux Herbes market before perusing some of the designer stores before dinner.

Saint-Tropez is famous for its fine dining and boutique shopping, but if you are a nature lover, you can hike or cycle along picturesque trails through the local forests. If you would like to get out on to the water, then pay a visit to Riviera Water Sports which is just 6km away. At the centre you can try kayaking, sailing, jet skiing, wake boarding or hire a pedalo with the kids.

Another place to visit while staying at Villa Dreyfus is the pretty village of Gassin which is 6km away and is a hilltop haven away from the bustling town. Gassin is known as one of France’s most beautiful villages and is a lovely place to spend the morning wandering around inside the old defensive walls. While here you could also visit Château Barbeyrolles vineyard which is on the outskirts of the village. Guests are given an insight in to organic and biodynamic winemaking techniques on the tour with a knowledgeable guide.

Region

Once a traditional fishing village, Saint-Tropez is now one of the most glamourous destinations of the Côte d’Azur and welcomes visitors from across the world.

However, there’s more to Saint-Tropez bay than exclusive beach clubs, glitzy boutiques and fine dining restaurants. From the family-friendly beaches of Sainte-Maxime to the vineyards of La Croix Valmer, Oliver’s Travels guests can truly admire this enchanting corner of the French Riviera whilst staying in one of our handpicked villas in and around Saint-Tropez.

Soak up the luxurious yet laidback vibe of Saint-Tropez as you wander around its marina lined with huge yachts contrasting colourful fishermen’s houses overlooking the bay. The old quarter is a warren of winding lanes with French designer boutiques, picturesque cafes and restaurants whilst Place des Lices hosts a vibrant Provençal market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning. Enjoy the most glorious vistas from Saint-Tropez’s 17th century citadel and maritime museum. Boat trips are another superb way to tour this part of the coast and passenger ferries cross the bay.

Just south of the town, follow Brigitte Bardot’s footsteps as you visit one of Plage de Pampelonne’s exclusive beach clubs, the most famous being Le Club 55 (always book well in advance). Stretching over 5km, Pampelonne’s long sandy beach is also loved for its vast range of summer watersports including jet-skiing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.

The picture-perfect villages of Saint-Tropez bay are beautifully located to make the most of the French Riviera scenery. On the hillside overlooking Plage de Pampelonne, Ramatuelle has attracted artists and writers over the years and is full of charm – look out for performances during its theatre and jazz festivals in the summer months. Meanwhile, hilltop Gassin is classified as one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages’ whilst flower-filled Grimaud is such a pretty medieval village with yet more stunning views of the coast.

Driving into the Maures hills, discover the characterful villages of La Garde-Freinet and Le Plan-de-la-Tour surrounded by oak and chestnut forests, a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, horse-riding enthusiasts and other outdoor adventurists.

Back to the coast, take a boat tour of Port Grimaud, known as the ‘little Venice of the Côte d’Azur’, and experience its atmospheric Monday evening summer market. Across the other side of the bay, Sainte-Maxime is a lovely sheltered seaside town with pretty cafes, a daily market and gorgeous beaches. Families adore this area – there are tree-top adventures, tennis, mini-golf, a water park and coastal paths for biking and hiking.

Golf-lovers can appreciate a choice of courses – Golf Blue Green as well as the prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club and Golf Club Saint-Tropez. Wine connoisseurs should head to the wine châteaux of Saint-Tropez and Pampelonne as well as the vineyards of La Croix Valmer.

Not forgetting the idyllic shores of soft sand and crystal-clear sea of La Croix Valmer’s coastline from Plage de Sylvabelle to Plage de Gigaro, also home to a wonderful coastal walking trail with the most incredible flora and fauna alongside sensational views of the Mediterranean as you hike towards Cap Lardier and beyond.
