Only 4.5km from the heart of Saint-Tropez, Villa Serpolet is set in an attractive residential estate a short drive from Golf Club Saint-Tropez. Toulon Hyères Airport (49km) is just under an hour away.

It’s fantastic being so close to Saint-Tropez (4.5km), around 10 minutes by car, depending on summer traffic. Soak up its charm and glamour as you wander around its old quarter, stroll by the marina and experience its upmarket bars and restaurants. The twice-weekly Provençal market is a great way to pick up delicious local produce and look out for all sorts of boat trips departing Saint-Tropez to tour the French Riviera coastline alongside ferries to Cavalaire-sur-Mer, Sainte-Maxime and beyond.

To the south of Saint-Tropez is the gloriously long beach, Plage de Pampelonne (10km), offering a great range of summer watersports, also home to Saint Tropez’s exclusive beach clubs including Nikki Beach and Le Club 55. Even closer is the little bay at Port Cogolin (3km) and Plage de Grimaud (5.5km), again with seasonal water-based activities.

Hire a little boat to explore the small coastal town of Port Grimaud (5km), known as the ‘Venice of the Côte d’Azur’ due to its canals and bridges. It’s especially atmospheric in the evening when the colourful houses and canalside restaurants are beautifully lit up – look out for the Monday evening marché nocturne in July and August. There’s also a lovely market on a Thursday and Sunday morning from April to October.  

Slightly further inland, visit the historic hilltop villages of Grimaud (9km), Gassin (6km) and Ramatuelle (8.5km), all enjoying amazing views of Saint Tropez bay and the Mediterranean coastline.

You are well located for a wealth of activities from playing golf on the prestgious18-hole Golf Club Saint-Tropez (4km) to watching polo matches at the Polo Resort & Country Club (4km). Discover wine-tasting at a small handful of Saint-Tropez’s wine châteaux nearby or venture to La Croix-Valmer (10km) for more beautiful vineyards. Meanwhile, families can enjoy mini-golf, tree-top adventures, go-karting and summer amusements across the area.

Hire bikes to cycle and mountain bike through the Maures forests, ride horses by the coast or countryside, come across stunning coastal hikes around Plage de l'Escalet (13km) and Plage de Gigaro (14km) or just head into the hills for picturesque lunches in old villages such as La Garde-Freinet (18km) and Le Plan-de-la-Tour (16km).

The old quarter is a warren of winding lanes with French designer boutiques, picturesque cafes and restaurants whilst Place des Lices hosts a vibrant Provençal market on a Tuesday and Saturday morning. Enjoy the most glorious vistas from Saint-Tropez’s 17th century citadel and maritime museum. Boat trips are another superb way to tour this part of the coast and passenger ferries cross the bay.

Just south of the town, follow Brigitte Bardot’s footsteps as you visit one of Plage de Pampelonne’s exclusive beach clubs, the most famous being Le Club 55 (always book well in advance). Stretching over 5km, Pampelonne’s long sandy beach is also loved for its vast range of summer watersports including jet-skiing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.

The picture-perfect villages of Saint-Tropez bay are beautifully located to make the most of the French Riviera scenery. On the hillside overlooking Plage de Pampelonne, Ramatuelle has attracted artists and writers over the years and is full of charm – look out for performances during its theatre and jazz festivals in the summer months. Meanwhile, hilltop Gassin is classified as one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages’ whilst flower-filled Grimaud is such a pretty medieval village with yet more stunning views of the coast.

Driving into the Maures hills, discover the characterful villages of La Garde-Freinet and Le Plan-de-la-Tour surrounded by oak and chestnut forests, a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, horse-riding enthusiasts and other outdoor adventurists.

Back to the coast, take a boat tour of Port Grimaud, known as the ‘little Venice of the Côte d’Azur’, and experience its atmospheric Monday evening summer market. Across the other side of the bay, Sainte-Maxime is a lovely sheltered seaside town with pretty cafes, a daily market and gorgeous beaches. Families adore this area – there are tree-top adventures, tennis, mini-golf, a water park and coastal paths for biking and hiking.

Golf-lovers can appreciate a choice of courses – Golf Blue Green as well as the prestigious Beauvallon Golf Club and Golf Club Saint-Tropez. Wine connoisseurs should head to the wine châteaux of Saint-Tropez and Pampelonne as well as the vineyards of La Croix Valmer.

Not forgetting the idyllic shores of soft sand and crystal-clear sea of La Croix Valmer’s coastline from Plage de Sylvabelle to Plage de Gigaro, also home to a wonderful coastal walking trail with the most incredible flora and fauna alongside sensational views of the Mediterranean as you hike towards Cap Lardier and beyond.
