Overview
Appreciate the most wonderful views of the Côte d'Azur hinterland from this beautiful residence just a short walk from a charming perched village north-east of Grasse, around half an hour from the glistening beaches of the French Riviera.
This immaculate stone villa welcomes up to 14 guests across its spacious living areas and six bedrooms. Just imagine opening the doors from the wood-beamed lounge and dining room each morning and being greeted with such magnificent panoramic vistas.
Inside this fully air-conditioned family home guests can make the most of the elegant kitchen with its Lacanche range and breakfast bar, the Provençal style lounge with its Louis XVI fireplace and other relaxing spots including two TV lounges, an office (which can also act as a bedroom with a sofa-bed) and a conservatory-style reading room on the top floor with idyllic views. The six bedrooms can be found across all three floors, some with en suite bathrooms, others with doors opening out to the lower terrace and garden.
The heated swimming pool features massage jets and stands within the terraced garden alongside a poolside summer kitchen and barbecue and a raised platform for bathing in the sun. Just above this, set amongst the Mediterranean plants and close to the sleepy hammock, a terrace for al-fresco dining awaits with a glorious view through the trees.
Guests can enjoy the table tennis, yoga and gym lawn, boules court and swing alongside the various levels of olive, orange and fig trees across the terraced grounds. The outlook is simply idyllic whether you are sipping a morning coffee on the upper terrace or a glass of Côtes De Provence by the swimming pool. This is a very special place for anyone who has the privilege to stay here. Indeed, you may even be following the footsteps of Princess Diana's father who is said to have stayed here when he owned this house in the late 20th century.
A small yet authentic perched village can be reached in around a 10-minute walk, following the country lane up the hill, where you will discover a beautifully restored medieval centre with a village château and 14th century church alongside pretty houses, shops and restaurants. Grasse, the perfume capital of France, is only 9km away whilst historic Valbonne and its famous Friday morning market is just 15 minutes by car.
Other idyllic villages include Tourrettes-sur-Loup and Gourdon whilst one of the main attractions of this area is the Gorges du Loup and its waterfalls – it goes without saying that this region is a paradise for walkers and keen hikers.
Art lovers should venture to Vence, St Paul de Vence and Mougins, there are many golf courses for sporting enthusiasts whilst shopaholics can enjoy the Polygone Riviera near Cagnes-sur-Mer, not to mention the fine city of Nice. Finally, the alluring coastline of the French Riviera awaits from the palm-fringed shores of Cannes to the beachside restaurants of Juan-les-Pins, Antibes and beyond, all reached in around half an hour by car.

About the surrounding area of Villa BazilleIn the Alpes-Maritimes department of southern France, less than a 30-minute drive from the Mediterranean, Villa Bazille is located within terraced grounds close to a perched village just north-east of Grasse, the perfume capital of France.
You can walk up the hill following the country road (no pavement) and reach the edge of the village in around a 10-minute stroll (about 600m on foot). It’s a small yet charming village which is home to a boulangerie, grocery store and other shops, restaurants, boutique hotels and a sports centre with tennis courts, basketball and a football pitch. Soak up the village’s authentic ambience as you wander around its old houses until you reach the 13th century château and attractive church.
It's also fantastic being a short drive from the bustling town of Grasse (9km) known for its rich perfume heritage – take time to visit the town’s perfume studios as well as the Musée International de la Parfumerie. The 13th century Cathédrale Notre-Dame Du Puy is another must-see with its works of art by Rubens and there are some wonderful restaurants, pavement cafes and the daily flower market in the old town.
Historic Valbonne (11Km) hosts an excellent Provençal market on a Friday morning, one of the best in the region, whilst the hilltop village of Mougins (17km) is famed for its gastronomic restaurants and little art galleries – this is where Picasso lived towards the end of his life. Check what art exhibitions may be taking place at the fantastic Fondation Maeght on the edge of St Paul de Vence and make a small detour to visit Matisse’s Chapelle du Rosaire near Vence.

An Idyllic Week in a Spectacular Villa
My family and some friends spent a week at the beautiful Villa Bazille in the South of France. It was an overwhelmingly positive experience. The place is immaculate and the grounds and views are extraordinary. It is the best place we have ever rented–and we have rented many lovely homes. The place is more expansive than it looks in the photos and we were lucky to have wonderful weather all week which allowed for all of our meals to be enjoyed outdoors. Communication and check-in were great. The property manager was delightful and even bothered to follow up when I inquired about how to get a doctor’s appointment…. we never wanted to leave the Villa anyway! I imagine I will come back again and again to this enchanting place and I am grateful that the owner shared it with us!

What a wonderful holiday!
It was hard to believe that the house and views could be as stunning as the pictures, but they most certainly were! The house has been finished to the highest standard and has everything you would possibly need. The area is very quaint and as long as you book restaurants in advance, there is enough in the village to keep you busy for a week.
The owner was very accommodating and helpful with our booking and answering any questions along the way. Would thoroughly recommend! -
Idyllic Perfection
We loved Villa Bazille…from the gorgeous building to the large grounds to explore…fantastic pool and tasteful decor. The owner has thought of everything in this place with the little touches making all the difference. Having a choice of outside spaces to eat was a treat & we loved having fresh figs from the trees in the morning! Views are spectacular from the terraces, and oh so peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you so much.

Villa Bazille is lovely
Great location. Beautiful property. The drive is not for the feint of heart, with lots of narrow back roads and tight switch-backs to navigate. Once there, it’s gorgeous with an incredible view… The kitchen, the outdoor table, the pool/deck, and that hammock! Bliss

Heavenly Villa
What a spectacular stay! We all felt we were so fortunate to stay in such a beautiful place. A very well appointed villa that lived extremely comfortably. The gardens were gorgeous and the pool turned out to be a perfect escape from the warm afternoons. Lots of space for everyone with many activities on the property to keep us busy, entertained and very happy. The large kitchen was well stocked with spices and basics and lots of extras that made cooking easy!… The small town nearby has several very good restaurants only a 10 min walk away. We took several trips through the hills on adventures and definitely preferred the D2210 as our favourite road -… Would definitely visit again. This truly was a heavenly villa.

Great family venue
As a family group of 12 we had a fantastic holiday, shops are a 10 minute walk for the baguettes, Grasse 15 minutes on public transport, we had a great driver, but we also had a car which is needed to maximise this location . The family loved the pool, table tennis and plenty of areas to have your own space.

Family and friends holiday
We enjoyed an excellent stay at Villa Bazille. We had a few snags but the owner was attentive and worked very hard to put things right promptly. I hope to come again.

Stunning property, amazing service and experience
Villa Bazille is a stunning property. Very rustic and charming from the exteriors but modern, comfortable and spacious in the inside. The views from the entire house are breathtaking, beautiful sceneries of the French country side. The host, agent and the cleaner provided outstanding service. Always available if we needed. I would especially stress that the cleaner that went above and beyond to help us when needed. The house is a nice 10 mins walk from the village. The walk and views are simply beautiful, The village itself is really charming and people were all really friendly. Our overall experience over Christmas with our family was everything we could have dreamed off. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to have the chance to stay there again in the future.

Gorgeous Villa 5 Stars
I stayed at Villa Bazille for a week with my family. The house was gorgeous, the views were stunning and the grounds were beautiful. The house is very well equipped, we did lots of cooking. There were games to play for adults as well as the children. We had a lovely time and would return within an instant. The owner was very communicative and helpful. Definitely recommend Villa Bazille as a wonderful place to stay for a relaxing holiday.

Just fantastic!
We have just returned from our summer holiday at Villa Bazille. In total 11 of us stayed at the Villa (friends and family) and had the most amazing time. The Villa is a as beautiful as the pictures suggest. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing with stunning views. The Villa itself is very well equipped – it even has a good quality ice cream maker! The owner was always available if we had any questions during our stay and the whole process of booking, check in and check out was smooth and without problem. We have stayed in many villas in Europe over the years but this by far was our favourite. I can’t recommend it more highly.
Don't miss out! Reserve now and get a full refund if you change your mind within 48hrs.
