Overview
With gorgeous views of the Côte d'Azur hills and close to Nice and the French Riviera, Villa Cerise Noire is a superb villa for a relaxed holiday exploring idyllic villages, brilliant beaches as well as atmospheric towns and cities across this popular part of southern France.
Soon after you awake, imagine opening your floor-to-ceiling automatic windows, then stepping out to the terrace where you are greeted with panoramic views of woodland and vineyards – you can even catch a glimpse of the winery Château de Bellet. On the spacious upper terrace enjoy your breakfast and lounge in the sun, then as the day goes on you may prefer the shade of the lower terrace, the perfect spot for cooler al-fresco dining by the barbecue, near the olive trees dotted across the garden.
The open-plan living space upstairs is fantastic with modern interiors and contemporary style, as are the three upper floor bedrooms, including a master double with a large en suite. Yet we also love the lower floor with its TV lounge/playroom, a fourth bedroom, a shower room which is so handy for the swimming pool and a separate kitchen-diner, perfect perhaps for accompanying grandparents or friends looking for a little extra space. The cosy bar is also very impressive!
Make the most of the south-east facing heated infinity pool – as well as a shallow beach area ideal for younger guests, you will adore the jacuzzi jets as you lay back and enjoy the views around you. Across the terraced grounds you will also find a boules court, table tennis and a pretty raised terrace with a shaded picnic table ideal for a chilled glass of Côtes de Provence.
Perched above a country road in the hills, in a private setting with only a small handful of other villas as your neighbours, in one direction you can reach the villages and hiking trails of the Nice hinterland or drive south to the buzz of the French Riviera. Nice, Monaco and Cannes can all be easily visited for a superb day out or spend time lazing on the beaches of Cagnes-sur-Mer, Beaulieu and Juan-Les-Pins.
Not to mention the incredible beauty of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Cap d’Antibes, best discovered on foot or by boat, and idyllic hilltop villages such as St Paul de Vence, Biot and Mougins, all beautiful gems of the Côte d'Azur and easily reached from your holiday home.

Perched above a country road that leads to villages in the Nice hinterland and with easy access to the nearby Route de Grenoble autoroute, guests benefit from being close to many parts of the Côte d'Azur and beyond. There is a bus stop situated on the road below the villa but a car is needed to be able to fully explore this region.
Following the winding road, you can reach a boulangerie as well as a restaurant and cafe in around 4 to 5km, passing landscapes so typical of this region with pine and olive trees – look out for the A.O.C. olive oil that is produced in this area which has an excellent reputation. Meanwhile, wine-lovers will appreciate the vineyards and wine-tasting at Château de Bellet (6km).
A large supermarket and petrol station are slightly closer, just over 5-minutes in the car, whilst further amenities can be found in Saint-Martin-du-Var (11km), an attractive village by the Var river. Also a short drive away, the old village in Carros (8km) is a fantastic spot for admiring mountain and Mediterranean views whilst Gattières (8km) is a joy to explore with its medieval lanes and flower-filled squares.
Furthermore, there are a number of stunning hiking trails across the Nice hinterland (the GR5 for example passes close to nearby Aspremont and Castagniers), as well as cycling, tennis, padel and golf opportunities.
Of course, so many of the popular destinations along the French Riviera are also easily reached. The beautiful city of Nice (18km) is a wonderful day out with its vibrant markets, galleries, museums and parks or drive further towards the beauty of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, perhaps stopping off in atmospheric Villefranche-sur-Mer (26km).
Following the coast towards Monaco (33km), there are some gorgeous beaches around Beaulieu-sur-Mer and don’t miss the exquisite hilltop village of Èze, home to Michelin star dining and magnificent French Riviera views.
In the other direction, the glitz of Cannes (36km) awaits with its palm-fringed shores, boat trips and watersports or you may prefer the old charm of Antibes (30km), home to Musée Picasso in its ancient citadel. Follow Picasso and Hemingway’s footsteps at Plage de la Garoupe, an idyllic and glamourous bay on the spectacular Cap d’Antibes or spend time appreciating the extraordinary vistas as you follow the coastal trails around the peninsula. Then there’s the sandy beaches, watersports and beachside restaurants of chic Juan-Les-Pins close by.
Not forgetting the flower many famous gems of the Côte d'Azur hinterland including the picture-perfect village of St Paul de Vence, pretty Vence and flower-filled Mougins, all reached in around half an hour from Villa Cerise Noire.
