Heading east instead, soak up the allure of Cavalaire-sur-Mer with its beaches and family-friendly activities, swim from the picture-perfect shores of Plage de Gigaro, dine out in an exclusive beach club on Plage de Pampelonne or potter around the old town of Saint-Tropez admiring its designer boutiques, upmarket restaurants and glorious views across the bay.

About the surrounding area of Villa Du MarinVilla du Marin is set within a private domaine in a perched setting above the coast with views down to the Mediterranean and Îles d'Hyères. Located between Saint-Tropez and Toulon on the French Riviera, Toulon Hyères Airport is only 32km away.
The road winds down to Plage de Cavalière (2km) with its sandy shores, beachside restaurants and range of seasonal watersports (jet-ski, sailing and pedalo hire, for example). This is one of the many beautiful beaches close to Le Lavandou – others include the wilder bay at Plage de l’Éléphant (3.5km) alongside the popular beaches of Plage d'Aiguebelle (5km) and Plage Saint-Clair (6.5km).
Le Lavandou (8km) is a joyful and relaxed seaside town on the Côte d’Azur with lovely restaurants, shops, pretty fountains and a weekly Provençal market. Discover wonderful walks along the coastline as well as beach volleyball, mini-golf and other family-friendly activities. Boat trips depart the harbour to the Îles d'Hyères for more pristine beaches, incredible nature, hiking and cycling.
Meanwhile, potter around the flower-filled village of Bormes-les-Mimosas (12km), tee off at Golf de Valcros La Londe (20km), sample wines at vineyards around La Croix Valmer (17km) and swim from the picture-perfect shores of Plage de Gigaro (18km) with its magnificent coastal walking trail.
Within 30km you could be wandering around the designer boutiques of Saint-Tropez or dining by harbourfront overlooking luxurious yachts in the marina. For another exclusive experience, reserve a table at one of Pampelonne Beach’s iconic beach clubs or simply visit France’s most famous beach for its superb sandy shores and watersports.

Best Suited For: All AgesOnly 2km away, sandy Plage de Cavalière has a reputation for its summer watersports – you will find sailing, pedalo hire and adventurous water-based activities (jet ski, parasailing etc) as well as volleyball, beachside restaurants and sun loungers to hire. Some parts of the beach are backed by shady pine trees so typical of this part of the Côte d’Azur.
Elsewhere, make the most of other beautiful beaches such as Plage de Saint-Clair and La Fossette, both close to the centre of Le Lavandou, or seek wilder shores and remote coves for a sense of adventure. This coastline is truly wonderful and has earned Le Pavillon Bleu d’Europe certification. Take a boat trip to the island of Porquerolles for more idyllic shores, long walks and cycling opportunities.
Look out for a range of festive events across the year in the relaxed seaside resort of Le Lavandou. Tour the town via the summer road train, spot the charming fountains, check to see if summer fun fairs are taking place and enjoy a walk along the resort’s lovely promenade.
There are more glorious walks along the coast and countryside or hire bikes to explore several fantastic routes. Le Lavandou is also home to tennis courts, beach volleyball and mini-golf for a fun-filled family stay.
