This region has it all; historic towns, mountainous areas, rolling fields and a long breath-taking coastline. Just 3km from the nearest village, Villa Fougere is a great base from which to explore this diverse region.
Ideal for a family holiday or travelling with a few friends, the villa has all the room you need for spending quality time together making memories. The living space is bright and open-plan with comfy sofas and a large dining table where you can eat while enjoying views of the garden. The fully-fitted kitchen is just off the living area, making it a sociable space to cook.
There is a choice of three elegant bedrooms each with doors leading outside. The master bedroom with a dressing room, en-suite bathroom and doors onto the garden is the perfect retreat.
Stepping outside you will find yourself surrounded by a vast garden. The outdoor space is fenced and the inviting pool has an alarm system so this is a brilliant place to stay with children. Whether you wish to relax by the pool or bask in the balmy evening weather as you dine al-fresco, the garden is an idyllic area with number of seating spots.
The villa is located amongst the trees with a few homes dotted around nearby. This does not mean that you are cut off though as the closest supermarket is around 1km away and the traditional hilltop village of Callian is a mere 3km away! Callian is built around its 13th century castle and there are medieval churches, an old oil mill and even Roman ruins here. Of course, there are also plenty of useful amenities including shops, cafés, restaurants, bars and bakeries.
There is lots to see and do in this gorgeous region for day trips too, you can visit the other eight villages that make up the Pays de Fayence, which are a collection of nine hilltop villages altogether. Take a walk along the 425km of hiking trails through woodlands and countryside or maybe try golf at the local course (3km away) if you are feeling active. The town of Fayence is 6km from the villa and Lake Saint Cassien and its beaches is just 10km away.
A little further afield you can discover the stunning coast filled with beaches and pretty coves around 30km away and the glitzy Cannes is a 35km drive away.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa FougereVilla Fougere is situated in an enviable location; in a quiet residential area surrounded by woodlands yet set in the Pays de Fayence which is a collection of 9 beautiful towns perched on the nearby hilltops. This forested, mountainous region is packed with natural beauty and is also only 30km from the coast, meaning you can enjoy different aspects of Provence whilst on holiday.
There are 2 notable villages close to the villa; Callian and Fayence, both of these can be reached in under 10 minutes by car. Callian is a little medieval village with a number of historic buildings and monuments you can see including the castle, old Roman aqueduct and ancient churches such as the Notre-Dame-des-Roses which is an archaeological site. After wandering around you will find some great cafes or restaurants to enjoy lunch at a table on one of the pretty cobbled streets.
Fayence is slightly bigger; passing through the Saracen gate you will enter this rustic town filled with charming squares, religious sites, castle remains and quaint details everywhere you look such as fountains, carvings and a medieval bread oven. For panoramic views of the area, make your way up to the top of the clock tower and if those views are not staggering enough then why not head to the gliding centre for an incredible adventure. While in town you can also go shopping at the farmers market or visit the artisan shops before trying some of the local Rosé wine in a tucked away bar.
Lake Saint Cassien is a fantastic nearby attraction which your whole group will love. Just 10km away from the villa this vast lake has beaches, safe swimming spots, fishing areas and boats you can hire which all make for a fun filled day out!
If you want to visit the coast then you are only around 30km away from an array of magnificent beaches. The 7km long, white sand La Bocca beach is the place to start and there are also quiet coves dotted around the coast for if you want to get away from it all. Just a stone’s throw away from dazzling Cannes, this is a great spot to charter a yacht or take a catamaran trip to enjoy the coastline from the water.
While in the area, it would be a shame to miss Cannes which is widely-known for the film festival held there in May each year. While the festival is on there are nightly open-air screenings of films for the public to enjoy as well as concerts, parties and a real buzz to the atmosphere. Cannes is a lot more than the festival however and is home to lots of museums, a fortress, brilliant shopping and a wealth of places to eat and drink.
