Region
Languedoc-Roussillon is one of those areas of France where you can feel like you’re totally cut off from the rest of the country. Commercial tourism has been very slow to capitalise on the region, meaning you can still enjoy a slice of authentic French rural life at its finest. A mixture of landscapes also makes it a great place to visit, with a good stretch of coastline offering a totally different experience to more bucolic interiors. Whatever you’re looking for, our range of villas and chateaux in Languedoc means you can get exactly the kind of holiday you want with accommodation that’s perfectly tailored to you, your friends and your family.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesMaison Palmes is positioned near the famous Cap d'Agde, a vibrant beach resort area known for its sandy shores and crystal-clear waters. The beaches here are family-friendly, with shallow spots ideal for younger children to splash around safely. Many of the beaches also offer amenities such as playgrounds, snack bars, and water sports rentals, making it easy to spend a full day by the sea.
For animal lovers, a visit to the Aquarium Marin du Cap d'Agde is a must. The aquarium features a fascinating array of marine life, from colourful tropical fish to majestic sea turtles. Nearby, Aqualand, one of the largest and best known water parks in France, offers a thrilling day out with its variety of water slides, wave pools, lazy rivers and paddling pools.
Exploring the town of Agde itself is also a great way to immerse children in a bit of history and culture. The town's narrow streets are lined with historic buildings, and a visit to the Agde Cathedral, a fortified church dating back to the 12th century, offers a glimpse into the region's past. For a more active outing, families can rent bicycles and spend a day out exploring the scenic Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers gentle cycling routes suitable for children.
