Region
Languedoc-Roussillon is one of those areas of France where you can feel like you’re totally cut off from the rest of the country. Commercial tourism has been very slow to capitalise on the region, meaning you can still enjoy a slice of authentic French rural life at its finest. A mixture of landscapes also makes it a great place to visit, with a good stretch of coastline offering a totally different experience to more bucolic interiors. Whatever you’re looking for, our range of villas and chateaux in Languedoc means you can get exactly the kind of holiday you want with accommodation that’s perfectly tailored to you, your friends and your family.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThe spacious layout of Villa Caravelle is ideal for family groups and children, with its four bedrooms, three bathrooms and multiple living spaces both inside and out, there is plenty of space for families to spread out. Kids will particularly love the sparkling swimming pool, perfect for splashing and playing on warm days. The expansive terrace and fenced garden provides a safe and secure space for children to enjoy the grounds while parents keep a watchful eye.
Families can enjoy a visit to the Canal du Midi, 30 minutes away by car, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, perfect for leisurely boat rides and cycling along the scenic towpaths. The historic city of Carcassonne with its impressive medieval castle is an exciting day out; children will love exploring the castle’s towers and ramparts, participating in interactive exhibits, and enjoying the daily knight shows and medieval reenactments. Additionally, the O2 Aventure adventure park offers treetop courses and zip-lining for a fun and active outing.
For a more nature-oriented experience, at Lac de Jouarres, just a 10-minute drive away, families can swim, paddleboard, and have picnics by the water. The Réserve Africaine de Sigean, a large safari park, is perfect for a day trip, allowing kids to see animals like lions, giraffes, and rhinos up close.
