Built in the XVIIth century and renovated in 1997, Chateau Seiguier combines the charm of an historic rental with the comfort and amenities of a modern build.
Located between Chambord and Sancerre, Chateau Seiguier is the perfect place to explore the royal castles or the world-famous vineyards of the Loire valley. The village offers tennis courts and a horseback riding school for guests who like to get active, and there are five golf courses (including two of the best in Europe!) located between 15 minutes and an hour's drive away.
Wildlife fans can enjoy the occasional glimpse of deer under their windows, and anglers can try their hand at catching fish in the river or the chateau's private pond. Children will have a whale of a time playing outside or exploring the grounds, and there is a private access to the large, 15x5m swimming pool located in the 2.5 acre private garden. Endless fun awaits you all year round - this is one chateau where guests can't fail to be delighted with both the accommodation and location.
What you should know…
- The property is not totally detached, however there is a secluded garden with high walls (accessible only to guests at Chateau Seiguier).
- Quiet and non-intrusive property manager lives on-site in a separate part of the building with private access and facilities. Whilst she is on hand to help (if required), guests will have their own privacy.
- The Wi-Fi connection doesn’t extend to the top floor of the chateau.

Perfect and great value
Shabby chic on steroids. Not the fake and manicured shabby chic of a London suburb but the absolute real deal. Old French antique furniture. Massive 30 ft x 15 ft master bedroom with 18 ft ceilings of oak beams and the biggest bed I have ever slept in - at least 2 normal doubles conjoined + 2 ft longer !
Awesome, atmospheric, charmingly dilapidated but in a brilliant and still functional and reliable secure way. The pool was excellent and the hosts great too.
Lots to do within a 60 min drive and the location was tranquil and quiet. 7 min walk each morning for fresh croissants and bread. Simply adorable with the morning mist rising off the lakes. I totally forgot about work the moment we passed through the gates. Perfect and great value. -
Delightful
We all stayed last week at Chateau Seiguier and had a wonderful time. The facilities are excellent, gardens delightful to walk in, elegant drawing room with library and games for children of all ages, and above all - a decent sized swimming pool. The owner's sister and her husband were on hand for any queries and were most helpful and welcoming. We all voted it a great success.

Lots of space for a large group
The property is probably not the most chic in Oliver's Travels portfolio, but had plenty of space and was ideal for our large group of young adults. The pool was fabulous and there was plenty of space for badminton and football! The large wild woodland adjoining the chateau was great for kids and the dog to let off steam. Guests should be aware that this property is only a wing of the chateau - the middle part is rented as a B&B and the other wing is also rented by Oliver's Travels. However each part is fully self contained and the property is sufficiently large that the other guests had no impact on our stay. Great to be able to walk into the small town in 5 mins for every day groceries and bread and there is also a tennis court on the edge of the town which we were glad to have use of for free. We visited Chambord for the day - the nearest large chateau of the Loire Valley, but it was > 1h drive.

Wonderful holiday!
The chateau was exactly as shown in the photos, but better. Beautifully decorated, well stocked and very comfortable. We were a group of 9 and there was plenty of room for us. We had a wonderful stay.
-
Loved it!
We had a great stay in Eric's chateau which is a really neat joint as an American would say. We left behind a Bose speaker which Eric has returned to us at his own cost and all I can say is what a really neat guy as an American would say!
-
We have loved our stay!!!
The Chateau is very well appointed both inside and out. The decor inside is immaculate and imaginative. The gardens are extensive and and interesting. The pool whilst a few metres from the house is perfect fun and very clean.

Lovely building and impressive surroundings. All the rooms were clean and well laid out. The kitchen was very well equipped too. Eric, the Owner, was lovely and very helpful.
-
Chateau Great
We had a really enjoyable time. There was large rooms and very good accommodation. The swimming pool is great. The Suggested visits were great and especially excellent for horse-riding.
-
Thank You
What a lovely week! We did lots of horse-riding and there is an excellent local town centre. Eric is very friendly and helpful. The countryside happens to be beautiful, as well as the Chateau and pool.
-
Fantastic Location
Fantastic location with lots of space indoors and out. Some minor maintenance aspects could have been better, (e.g. Paintwork) but nothing out of the ordinary for such an old property.
-
So at Ease
A great getaway for a combined family holiday. The outdoor space and size of the Chateau was perfect, to the point where we were spending majority of our time in and around the pool, playing garden games and having general fun. Its fair to say that we felt completely at ease in the garden and house. Eric was available to sort out any minor issues, as well as give nice advice about the area. All in all - a great week, great location, great company and unending laughs.
-
We hope to be back
3 Families, 6 adults, 3 5-year old boys, 2 toddlers and a million laughs! This was a spectacular stay in a welcoming Chateau. Eric has been very informative and very helpful. Some lovely local restaurants, so keep an eye out. There are also some great local boat rides. Enjoy this fabulous house.

Beautiful Chateau
Beautiful Chateau in the countryside of France. Great for large families, beautifully decorated rooms and master bedroom. Nature is within walking distance. It was great for the kids, especially with pool.
-
Fantastic Week
Fantastic week spent in a beautiful house. Eric was the perfect host and very helpful. The grounds, garden and pool made for a perfect family holiday.
-
What a cool stay we had!
The chateau is bright and airy, lots of high ceilings. And loved the fact it was a 2 minute trot into town for a beer, a bite or quick shop. Massive garden, and loved fishing for trout in the private lake (again a 2 minute walk!). Seriously cool chateau with lots of quirk. Being from London, it’s not often you see stars in the night sky, which was the case every night in Brinon. Thanks Eric!
-
Lots to see and do
We had a great holiday in this beautiful chateau with lovely spacious gardens perfect for the kids. Not too touristy (in a good way!) around though plenty to do within a short drive.
-
Be back soon
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house, we had a brilliant time and will definitely be back again.
-
We loved our stay!
Firstly, many thanks for the use of your splendid chateau this last week. We all very much enjoyed ourselves. Great place indeed
-
Wonderful chateau stay
We spent a lovely week at the Chateau. It's really beautiful. We consider return to your castle next year.
Thank you for bikes! -
Our Summer Holiday
We chose this particular Chateau as it was dog friendly and also close to the village.
Although the website has some good pictures, it is far better in real life. Very grand and impressive.
This was a family holiday ages ranging from 40s right up to late 70s. We All loved the place , the pool,, the location was great for walking into the village for dinner or the local shops. We were blessed with very good weather which does make a difference, but I would recommend this Chateau.
From a very warm welcome from Eric (the owner) to Bernadette one of his staff, everyone concerned made our stay very enjoyable.
The dog loved it too !!!
Thanks -
Memorable French getaway!
Once more, we thank you for our stay at the Chateau. I am certain it will remain one of our fondest memories throughout our lives!
-
The ideal family holiday!
We enjoyed Brinon and the chateau very much. We took day trips to Chambord, Chenonceau, Blois, Orleans (where I lived for 3 years) and Sancerre. My daughter and two others made a day trip to Versailles. We had lunch at Auberge du 7 and dinner at La Solognote. Both were delicious.
