Superb!
We had a large family and friends reunion over Christmas and New Years and everyone loved the chateau. The property has everything - the adults enjoyed cooking in the incredible kitchen and the kids loved exploring the never ending buildings, grounds and gardens. The chateau is absolutely first class in every detail and is warm and toasty even on the coldest days. The owner was exceptionally easy to work with and had decorated the chateau for us which made everything over the holidays so easy. Definitely ask for Yvette if your group and family want special meals and dinners - Yevette is a gem and produced huge qualities of amazing Normandy food and made the trip especially memorable. The fireplace is a real highlight, as is the abbey and stations of the cross further down on the property. We would recommend this chateau without reservation and are already planning a return visit.

An outstanding historic venue ideally situated.
As a group of 15 friends we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spectacular Chateau. From the information provided before arriving, the wonderful welcome and tour from Francoise, the immaculate interior and grounds to the wonderful food by the staff. The facilities and the chance to experience staying in this amazing home have been an absolute privilege. Everything has been thought of to make this a holiday you will never forget.

Two weeks in July at Chateau des Reves
We stayed two weeks at the Chateau des Reves, with invited friends and family. It was a splendid time. The house itself, while large, is not overwhelming, but is cozy, charming and comfortable. The 4 reception rooms and well maintained, spacious grounds provided everyone of us with areas to congregate and also be to be private. Everyone has asked us the central question posed to those who rented a country house in France: how were the bathrooms? Here, they were excellent, newly tiled with first rate fittings and strong water pressure; each was en suite with the 8/9 bedrooms. The kitchen was also well equipped with an Aga type oven/stove.
One of the joys of northern France is the endless summer daylights; the sun set in July about 10:45 p.m. Our guests and family would go to play tennis or swim at 9 p.m. and we would sit down to dinner at 12 a.m, being unwilling to shorten the glorious days. Also, there were no mosquitoes and windows could be open at night.
Needless to day, we have recommended rental of Chateau des Reves to our friends and acquaintances and will most probably return in 2016, -
Spectacular Chateau in Normandy
Fifteen friends shared this magnificent home while attending the World Equestrian Games in Caen. My commitment is to return to fully enjoy this Chateau without the distraction of dressage.
The photos and information provided are all very accurate. Arnaud the owner was very available and helpful to deal with during the booking and provided excellent information regarding the locale and guides (for a DDay tour).
The residence itself is jaw-dropping. Once the front gates open you immediately realise that you've made an excellent choice. The housekeeper Francoise was a smiling face there to welcome you.
There are ample areas for entertaining, both inside and out and a spectacular dining room. All the bedrooms are ensuited and very comfortable. Several are imposing to say the least. A couple of the bedrooms are relatively small (relative to the size of the chateau rather than the size of a typical European hotel room), but the communal areas are so numerous that it was very easy to find a quiet place to relax. The pool was well heated and the bikes were well used for morning rides to the local village. The grounds were exceptional - a twilight wander over the grass or through the trees with a glass in hand was a fantastic way to end the day.
The kitchen was well equipped; however thankfully we didn't really need to avail ourselves of this because of the wonderful Gwenaelle, the cook. After the week we were working on ways of taking Gwenaelle with us! After a day touring or at the dressage, to arrive 'home' at 7pm and have Gwenaelle preparing a wonderful repast in the kitchen was for many of us a highlight. Excellent food that we were more than happy to consume every night.
I will certainly be returning, probably next time with my extended family. Whilst this fabulous chateau is full of history and antiques, it is so very livable and felt very much like a home for all of us.
For someone who travels frequently and widely, this was on of the best week's holiday I've had. And largely made that way because of the Chateau and it's staff.

Wonderful hospitality
Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality to the Defense Attach Office during this past D-Day week here in Normandy. Everyone enjoyed the experience immensely and will remember the visit for the rest of their lives. To those other Americans considering leasing some sort of chateau or staying at a B&B for an experience in Normandy, I can strongly recommend the Chateau as an unforgettable experience that is absolutely enjoyable. Arnaud and Berengere are as kind and honest as one could ever expect to encounter. The others that work at the chateau are also just top notch personnel - very helpful, kind, and considerate; they represent the very best of the French people. The chateau is in impeccable shape and offers many amenities for everyone to enjoy; it's a great place for a group to have a wonderful experience. It is a fascinating place full of history that will certainly inspire even the novice historian buff. Everyone that I know that has stayed here has absolutely loved the place. If you are considering the Chateau as a possible visit location in Normandy, I can strongly recommend the place; you can't beat it!

Everything was perfect
I am sorry for delay in writing to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Chateau. The entire family had a wonderful time in that very beautiful place. Everything was perfect. Francoise and Gwenelle were both truly helpful and made our stay comfortable and well fed! You have done such a beautiful job on the Chateau itself with each room having an ensuite bathroom, wifi, and cable television. All the modern conveniences in an historical setting. I will recommend to friends and I will not be surprised if you hear from them. Again, thank you, and best regards

We had a truly exceptional experience
Having stayed at the Chateau this June we can echo the sentiments of the American Embassay, and add a few comments. We brought our entire family (three generations) and had a truly exceptional experience in this fairy tale setting. The historical tours of the area, including the WWII sites, were fascinating, but simply staying here was a treat in itself, from swimming, cycling, and relaxing, to playing soccer on the lawn, or playing in the children's manor and engaging in an eleborate treasure hunt. It was a superb vacation and our hosts were extremely gracious. We hope to return.
