Just south of the river Oise sits the village of Villers-Saint-Frambourg-Ognon, where the pastoral charm of this Picardy château will win your heart. Work and play are equally at home in this serene, country-style home just 45 minutes outside of Paris.
Up to 12 guests can stay in the château and appreciate the modern comforts, like the recently re-done en suite bathrooms and updated kitchen. Outside, there is a pretty stone terrace with tables, where you can dine al-fresco beside the neatly kept garden. Children will have plenty of playtime in the large garden, or on the trampoline and swing-set. Larger groups can also rent the separate annexe located next to the pool, which sleeps an additional 5 guests.
The location of this château leaves nothing to be desired; all within an hour’s drive you’ll find the historical commune of Senlis (6 km), the castles and Musée Condé at Chantilly (17 km), Paris (60 km), and the Palace of Versailles (75 km). But there’s no need to travel far afield - local walks through the forests of Halatte, Compiègne and Ermenonville will also delight you and yours.
The village of Villers-Saint-Frambourg-Ognon has kept its authenticity since the first Lords of Ognon took up residence. In 1526, François 1st took hunting expeditions in the area, right in the heart of the "three forests" Halatte, Ermenonville and Chantilly.
The house is also designed to accommodate business seminars and equipped with a dedicated room with a large screen, and catering for meals.
Château de Garmeaux is only 20 minutes from Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport and 50 minutes from Paris-Beauvais-Tillé Airport.

Location
About the surrounding area of Chateau De GarmeauxLocated 20 minutes from Roissy and 50 minutes from Paris, 6 km from Senlis.
An ideal spot from which to visit the beauties of the area, with the old town of Senlis, the castles of Chantilly, Pierrefonds Ecouen and Abbeys of Chaalis and Royaumont.
For children, Asterix and Disneyland Park are reachable in half an hour.
You can make a return trip to Paris in the day, to see the latest exhibitions, galleries, or do a spot of shopping.
The area is a golfer's paradise: Raray, Chantilly, Mortefontaine, whilst polo players and riders will be ideally suited as well with the nearby Stables Balagny, of Chantilly and Fleurines.
Many pleasant walks can be taken in the close by forests of Halatte, Compiègne, Ermenonville, Chantilly with Rousseau's Parc at Ermenonville.
For lovers of good food, do not miss the star restaurant in Chantilly and "Les trois canards" in Villers-Saint-Frambourg-Ognon.
If you want to go shopping, Chamant (3 km from Villers-Saint-Frambourg-Ognon) has fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bread, meat, fish, cheese and wine and you can buy your newspapers. You can also go to Senlis to the supermarket, Bio shop and small traditional French traders with specialties of the region. The owner can indicate where to find super fresh eggs and poultry, and where to find the best chef, if you need one!
Saint-Maximin is a big center for all kind of shops and fast food: Decathlon, Fnac, Truffaut, H&M, a pharmacy, Volkswagen, etc.
To get to Villers-Saint-Frambourg-Ognon, your best flying to Roissy and renting a car. Or drive your car on the highway that goes from Lille to Paris, come out at Senlis, take the direction of Compiègne, turn right, cross Chamant and take Villers-Saint-Frambourg-Ognon's direction. You can also take the train any time of the day from Paris to Chantilly or Creil or Pont-Sainte-Maxence (half an hour), and then come by taxi (15 mins).

Best Suited For: All AgesThe garden is surrounded by high walls and children will like the indoor and outdoor games. Teenagers will love hiking, accrobranches, riding or golf playing. There's more fun to be had on a day trip to Disneyland, Parc Asterix or even Versailles.
Alternatively, you can choose to stay at home and relax, sun bathe, swim or have a walk in the forest, do some sport around (golf, horse riding, hiking) or visit some beautiful medieval or renaissance sites, make a day trip to Paris to go shopping and visit the finest restaurants.

What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
My parents have restored and enlarged this property especially my mother. I spent all my childhood here, and I fell in love this "maison de famille", and so I decided to keep it!
Are there any interesting stories in its history?
The house was acquired by my great grand-father, a banker called Baron Seillière Demachy and he build a big castle in Renaissance style in the XIXth century. Today many of my cousins live in this village
Have you ever had any famous guests staying?
In the XVIth century, Ognon was the property of the Seigneurs de La Fontaine, who hosted François 1er who used to come hunting int these three forests of Halatte, Compiègne and Chantilly

A perfect place
Chateau de Garmeaux is a beautiful, homely, big château in the country side. It has enough rooms to sleep 10 people plus enough bathrooms. It has a well lived in atmosphere with a well equipped kitchen and large living rooms. The rooms are spacious and warm. We enjoyed the lovely garden. The furniture are all beautiful antiques. A perfect place for family and friends to enjoy in the country side close to lovely Chantilly with its old castle, and fsee matches at the Stade de France!

Pleasant Christmas stay
We had a very pleasant Christmas stay at Chateau de Garmeaux, everything went very well. We were warmly welcomed by Susana, the house is magnificent, even prettier than in the photos, it's perfect for a large family, there were three children with us, they love the château, I think we will come back in summer, to enjoy the swimming pool in the garden.

A great Family Holiday
We thoroughly enjoyed our week's family holiday in Chateau de Garmeaux in August 2016. The Chateau itself exudes comfort, luxury and happiness. The garden is most pleasant with plenty of space and games for both children and adults. The private pool is a delight. The concierge who lives on site could not have been more helpful. Senlis and Chantilly are well worth a visit and Paris is an easy day-trip. All in all a great family holiday.
