Bastide des Vergiers sleeps up to 14 guests across its main residence and adjoining apartment. Embrace the charm of the interiors with comfortable living spaces, two well-equipped kitchens and a blend of old and new furnishings to add to the characterful ambience throughout.
Sleep peacefully across the bastide’s seven bedrooms. There are four bedrooms upstairs in the main house including an especially spacious master double on the top-floor, and another three bedrooms (which can be made up as a twin or king-size double) in the apartment.
Outside, the grounds are simply glorious with atmospheric terraces, mature trees and the inviting swimming pool surrounded by parkland. Relax on the poolside sun loungers and watch on as children play across the grass or find a quiet spot by the historic bastide for apéritifs on warm summer evenings.
Despite your natural environment, this setting is not too remote with a handful of neighbouring houses and you are just a short drive from useful amenities. Just a little further, only 7km by car, is the enchanting town of Aix-en-Provence with its café terraces, galleries, museums and vibrant markets. Stop for a coffee along Cours Mirabeau, ride the Paul Cézanne carrousel and shop to your hearts delight in the historic centre.
Elsewhere, be inspired by the landscapes of Mont Sainte-Victoire with its vineyards and idyllic villages, a paradise for wine enthusiasts or keen hikers and cyclists. You could even venture to the Mediterranean coast with picture-perfect Cassis just an hour away – after a long lunch by the colourful harbour, hop on a boat tour to admire the spectacular scenery of the Calanques.

About the surrounding area of Bastide des VergiersThis handsome bastide is just a short drive from the beautiful town of Aix-en-Provence. It’s fantastic being only half an hour by car from Marseille Airport (32km) and even closer to Aix-en-Provence’s TGV train station (22km) with fast services to and from Paris/Brussels.
Within one hectare of grounds and next to a small cluster of houses, enjoy a picturesque setting that is not too remote, just on the northern edge of Aix-en-Provence’s suburbs. There is a large supermarket in a five-minute drive or head a little further to the village of Venelles (4km) with its shops and restaurants.
Aix-en-Provence (7km) is a charming destination in the heart of the Provence region, offering a perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Known for its stunning architecture, vibrant markets, café terraces and the iconic Cours Mirabeau (home of the Paul Cézanne carrousel), Aix-en-Provence provides a truly authentic southern French experience.
Meanwhile, Mont Sainte-Victoire is a paradise for wine-lovers, hiking enthusiasts and keen cyclists. Be inspired by the landscapes so loved by artists such as Paul Cézanne as you visit picture-perfect villages including Le Tholonet (13km), Pourrières (38km) and Puyloubier (34km).
The Mediterranean also awaits – one of the prettiest seaside villages for a day trip is Cassis (59km) with its colourful fishing houses, excellent restaurants and vineyards. Cassis is the gateway to the Parc national des Calanques for walking and hiking routes or take a boat trip (or canoe/kayak excursion) to admire the incredible scenery from the sea.

What’s more, you are not too remote – a good-sized supermarket is just a 5-minute drive away whilst there are restaurants in both nearby Venelles and Aix-en-Provence.
Venelles also has a large sports complex around 10 minutes by car with an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, skatepark and other facilities. For rainy days with little ones, discover the soft play centre 3km away.
Of course, you are just a short distance from Aix-en-Provence with its galleries and museums such as Cézanne’s Studio and, on the edge of the town, the unique Fondation Vasarely with its art exhibitions. There are playgrounds and green spaces across Aix-en-Provence's outskirts including Parc de la Torse. Youngsters will also adore the Paul Cézanne carrousel in the heart of the Provençal town.
You can reach the sea in around an hour – Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, for example, is a lovely seaside resort for all the family or be enchanted by Cassis and tour the incredible Calanques by boat. The Étang de Berre also offers family attractions, lakeside beaches and summer watersports, especially around the pretty town of Martigues.
