Sleeping up to 8 guests, admire the contemporary décor of this attractive Provençal villa that has been recently renovated with style. The open-plan living space allows you to chill out on the corner sofa watching TV or cook for your family and friends in the brilliantly equipped kitchen with the most stunning vistas from its window above the sink. Keep your drinks cool in the wine fridge to enjoy on the outdoor terrace with more of those magnificent valley views. There’s also a pretty conservatory style room with sliding windows leading to the villa’s grounds.
The first two bedrooms both feature a queen-size double bed and one also benefits from air-conditioning – they share a bathroom and separate WC. Another ground-floor double bedroom is reached via the office and has air-conditioning, garden access and its own shower room. Finally, head up the open-sided staircase to the unique fourth double with dormer windows and an en suite with lovely views of the stars from its bath!
Appreciate the sense of privacy from the one hectare grounds with mature trees and admire the Luberon scenery around you as you make the most of the swimming pool, terraces and pétanque court. There’s an idyllic spot at the back of the house for al-fresco dining by the barbecue.
It’s a short drive to Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt to fetch your morning croissants and fresh bread. Take time to wander around its old lanes as you admire historic houses, beautiful doorways and the 11th century church. The weekly market takes place on a Tuesday morning, a fine way to pick up summer cherries, lavender, cheeses, wine, olive oil and other wonderful products of the Luberon.

Location
About the surrounding area of Maison PolarisFrom its hillside location, enjoy beautiful views of the valley from the mature grounds surrounding this contemporary holiday villa in the heart of the Luberon. In the Vaucluse department of southern France, the enchanting village of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt is only 2.5km away.
Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt is a picturesque and authentic village, slightly off the tourist trail compared to other iconic Luberon villages, but just as charming in every way. Wander around its cobbled lanes admiring historic houses, beautiful doorways and 11th century church, then enjoy lunch on a restaurant terrace. The small Tuesday morning market is a must visit – look out for local olive oil, wine, summer cherries, lavender, cheese and other traditional products from the region.
Food lovers will adore the market in the historic town Apt (7.5km) on a Saturday morning, the largest market in the Luberon. Alternatively, look out for smaller but equally enchanting markets across picture-perfect villages such as Gordes, Ménerbes, Roussillon, Goult and Bonnieux, all within a 20 to 30-minute drive.
The Luberon is also famed for its vineyards and wine-tasting opportunities as well as glorious walking, hiking and cycling opportunities, a fantastic way to appreciate the magnificent Provençal scenery of vines, lavender, orchards, forest and hills.
Beyond the Luberon, venture to the lavender fields of Sault (25km), canoe or kayak along the Sorgue River from Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (35km) and potter around the Sunday morning brocante in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (34km). Meanwhile, both Avignon (54km) and Aix-en-Provence (64km) are fine destinations for another quintessential day out in Provence.

Region
With some of the most enchanting landscapes of Provence, the Luberon awaits with its idyllic perched villages, swathes of lavender, cherry trees, vineyards and dense forest.
Become captivated by the scenery as you potter around artistic Gordes with its atmospheric Tuesday morning market before heading to hilltop Ménerbes, the village that inspired Peter Mayle’s ‘A Year in Provence’. Romantic Bonnieux enjoys the most glorious vistas, surrounded by a sea of vines and orchards, whilst red-hued Roussillon will take your breath away with its ochre landscapes and pine forests. They are all officially classified as ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ in France.
Yet there are so many hidden gems to explore as well. Discover the historic doorways, windmills and summer cherries of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, then head to Goult to embrace its Provençal charm with little shops and pavement cafes. Surrounded by fields of lavender, Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt is another historic jewel of the Luberon, often overshadowed by the handsome and historic town of Apt.
To the south of the Luberon, follow Albert Camus’ footsteps in Lourmarin, sip coffee by the picturesque bassin lined with plane trees in Cucuron and soak up the history of Ansouis – all three villages have a fine reputation for their high-end dining with a choice of Michelin starred restaurants.
Indeed, across the region look out for restaurant terraces serving Provençal cuisine with superb vistas alongside characterful markets showcasing seasonal delights from the Luberon and beyond (olives, melons, strawberries, cherries, truffles, chestnuts, lavender products and more). Most villages host a lovely weekly market whilst the largest in the Luberon is held on a Saturday morning in Apt. Just on the edge of the Luberon, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is famed for its antique stores and Sunday morning brocante. Meanwhile, wine lovers should visit the vineyards and wineries of the region producing Luberon and Ventoux AOC wines.
The walking, hiking and cycling opportunities in the Luberon seem endless and you will also find horse-riding, rock-climbing and tree-top adventures as well as canoeing and kayaking along the Sorgue near Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. Come across hiking trails for all abilities passing vineyards and forest or venture through the hills and mountain gorges for spectacular scenery. Cycling is also extremely popular – as well as more challenging routes, we especially love the family-friendly Véloroute du Calavon, a paved voie verte following a former railway line near the Calavon river passing poppies, lavender and orchards so typical of the Luberon.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesWith its mature and private gardens, family can enjoy the sense of space across the one hectare of grounds with a swimming pool and pétanque court positioned to make the most of the views. The interiors are bright and modern for a family holiday - please note that the open-sided and steep stairs (leading to one of the four bedrooms) are better suited to teens or adults.
Step back in time as you explore the very charming village of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt. There’s tennis courts on the edge of the village as well as a pump track as well as a municipal outdoor swimming pool open in July and August.
Around a 15-minute drive away is the summer tree-top activity centre, Colorado Aventures, with its trails and zip lines beneath the pine trees. Admire the red-hued landscapes by joining walking trails across Le Colorado Provençal or head to the pretty village of Roussillon and follow Le Sentier des Ocres.
There’s another tree-top activity centre, Passerelles des Cîmes, near Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. This area is also loved for its canoeing and kayaking opportunities along the Sorgue River.
Meanwhile, other family-friendly attractions just south of the Luberon include Parc Grimmland for fairytale inspired rides and amusements as well as the popular Zoo Barben near Salon-de-Provence around an hour by car.
