This enchanting stone home, with air-conditioning throughout, has been recently built yet it has a real sense of traditional charm alongside contemporary style. Walk into the inviting lounge to be greeted with beautiful furnishings in this chic yet characterful room. Light floods in from doors that open up to the wonderful bamboo-covered terrace with outdoor sofas and glorious views of the gardens and countryside around you.
The brand-new kitchen features only the very best appliances and a smart dining area also has doors leading to a lovely terrace. Four warm bedrooms have been furnished with simple elegance, using natural materials which create a calming ambience as you relax in tranquil surroundings.
Enjoy a glass of local wine as you take in the views from the delightful al-fresco lounge, looking out towards the landscaped gardens that slope down towards the surrounding woods and countryside. Gaze at the nature around you as you swim in the heated swimming pool with its unique hue, lounge in the sun by the poolside and enjoy summer evenings in the beautiful outside dining area listening only to the trickling of the fountain and the sounds of nature around you.
One of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, Les Baux-de-Provence, is just a short drive away where you can wander through its medieval lanes filled with shops and restaurants and explore its incredible château perched up high. Enjoy wonderful walks through the endless fields of olive groves, sample red and rosé wines in local vineyards and visit other idyllic villages and towns such as Maussane, Eygalières and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. You’ll also find horse-riding and rock-climbing nearby in Les Alpilles and beyond.

Location
About the surrounding area of Maison SafariIn the very heart of Les Alpilles, with mesmerising views, Maison Safari enjoys a rural setting yet is only a five to ten-minute drive to some of the region’s prettiest villages.
From the swimming pool you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful château in Les Baux-de-Provence. It takes just under ten minutes to drive to the incredible village, one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, where you can wander around the narrow medieval lanes, discovering shops and restaurants, then explore the ruins of the château with its amazing views across the region. It’s a stunning place to visit – get there early in the morning before visitors arrive from across Provence.
It’s also a short drive to Maussane-les-Alpilles, a charming village known for its olive oil production. This village has some excellent restaurants and picturesque cafes as well as a good selection of shops, some selling local produce, and a supermarket. It’s a pleasant place to stop for a leisurely lunch or meal out in the evening with restaurants in and around Maussane ranging from good pizzerias to Michelin starred establishments.
The Alpilles Natural Park is filled with enchanting landscapes of rolling hills, olive groves and vineyards; there are many places to sample both the wine and olive oil produced in the area, the latter being some of the finest in France. You can play golf at various courses across Provence, including the nearby Domaine de Manville and there are many walking and cycling routes across Les Alpilles and the neighbouring Luberon. Horse-riding, pony-trekking and even rock-climbing are other popular activities in this part of Provence.
Other wonderful places to visit include the idyllic village of Eygalières and the famous artist’s town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, especially on a Wednesday morning when the market sells some great local produce.
The historic city of Avignon is well known for its UNESCO World Heritage sites but there are also many wonderful markets, restaurants and bars to discover. Heading south, Arles also has a fascinating history and strong links to Vincent Van Gogh whilst you can reach the incredible Camargue within an hour with its white horses, pink flamingos, endless lagoons and Mediterranean beaches.

Best Suited For: All AgesThis region is filled with wonderful walking trails, cycling routes, horse-riding and pony trekking. You will also find rock climbing in Les Alpilles and the neighbouring Luberon region.
Just north of Les Baux-de-Provence is the amazing light show at Carrières de Lumières, a quarry where multi-media images are projected onto the rocks that surround you.
A little further north, Saint-Rémy is an enchanting town to visit with its little artists studios and lovely Wednesday morning market. Follow the Van-Gogh trail around the town, ending at Saint-Paul de Mausole where the artists famously painted ‘Starry Night’ amongst many other classics. You can also visit the archaeological site of Glanum, only a couple of kilometres south of Saint-Rémy.
Avignon is a great day out, a city full of historic delights. Tired legs can hop onto the road-train that takes you around the sights, enjoy the bustling markets and lovely restaurants or take a trip along the Rhône river.
Other family-friendly activities include the sweet model railway, Le Jarditrain, near Carpentras and also Zoo La Barben, a great place to see animals in this huge nature park.
