This inviting holiday home is wonderfully located just a short walk from the heart of Lourmarin, one of the Luberon’s prettiest hilltop villages with its restaurants, boutiques, galleries and gorgeous market on a Friday morning.
After a morning pottering around the cobbled lanes of Lourmarin, stroll back to Maison Toumas and enjoy lunch on the covered terrace before dipping in to your private pool, just the right size for cooling off on warm summer days. Relax on the decked poolside terrace’s sun loungers or find a spot by the olive tree overlooking the pretty garden.
The air-conditioned interiors are modern and attractive – the light-filled lounge and dining area opens out to the shaded terrace whilst the contemporary kitchen is well-equipped should you wish to self-cater at home. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, one en suite with a shower, and a shared bathroom. With chic yet simple décor, you have everything you need for a fantastic holiday with your loved ones.
In a residential area on the edge of the village, you can wander to Lourmarin in around 10 minutes. It is such a picture-perfect village to explore – no wonder it has been classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’.
Visit other beautiful Luberon villages nearby such as Cucuron and Ansouis, both with Michelin starred restaurants and charming weekly markets. Drive through the cedar forest to reach the likes of Bonnieux, Lacoste and Ménerbes or venture further south to experience the museums, galleries, shops and café terraces of Aix-en-Provence with its rich heritage, French charm and close proximity to the Cézanne’s beloved Mont Sainte-Victoire.

About the surrounding area of Maison ToumasThe semi-detached Maison Toumas is located in an attractive residential neighbourhood on the edge of the famous Luberon village of Lourmarin, around a 40-minute drive north of Aix-en-Provence and less than an hour from Marseille Airport.
This residential area is set just off the main road connecting the two pretty villages of Lourmarin and Cucuron. Just follow a little path towards the tennis courts and then continue to the heart of the village. Within a 10-minute stroll you could be sipping your morning coffee on a pretty café terrace or pottering around the wonderful Friday morning market.
Indeed, Lourmarin is such a delightful place to spend time in with its narrow cobbled lanes, boutiques, galleries and excellent restaurants – no wonder it has been officially classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’. Check to see what may be happening at the village château which hosts concerts, festivities and events.
Admire the surrounding landscapes of vineyards, olive groves and almond trees as you explore this part of the southern Luberon. Enjoy walks, challenging hikes, horse-riding and even rock-climbing within driving distance as well as canoeing/kayaking along the Durance River. The nearby Étang de la Bonde (13km) is a pleasant spot for walks and summer swimming.
Visit other gorgeous villages such as Cucuron (7km) with its main square and shady plane trees overlooking a picturesque bassin alongside its Michelin starred restaurant and characterful weekly market. There is another Michelin starred establishment in Ansouis (10km), another beautiful village with its old lanes and castle, yet again classified as a ‘Plus Beaux Villages’.
Heading north, follow marked trails through the remarkable Forêt des cèdres du Luberon, perhaps combined with a trip to another iconic Luberon villages such as Bonnieux (14km), Lacoste (19km) or Ménerbes (23km). Market lovers should venture to the historic town of Apt (20km) on a Saturday morning to experience the Luberon’s largest market.
Beyond the Luberon, Aix-en-Provence (38km) is a charming day out whether shopping to your hearts delight, visiting museums and galleries or simply soaking up the town’s Provençal ambience as you sip coffee on a café terrace along Cours Mirabeau.

There are tennis courts even closer whilst the Château de Lourmarin is on the other side of the village – check to see if there are any concerts, events or festivities taking place at the castle during your stay.
Enjoy lovely walks, cycle rides and more challenging hikes through the Luberon countryside. Discover marked trails through the Forêt des cèdres du Luberon or continue further north towards Rustrel with its tree-top activity centre, Colorado Provençal, just over half an hour by car.
Beyond the Luberon, come across several other family attractions including Zoo Barben, Accro Passion (for more tree-top trails) and two popular theme parks, Le Village des Automates and Parc Grimmland, all within a 30 to 45-minute drive. A little further afield, there’s canoeing/kayaking along the Sorgue or Durance rivers.
If visiting Aix-en-Provence with your family, enjoy a ride on the iconic Paul Cézanne carousel, take a tour on the tourist road train, try some local marzipan sweets (Calissons d’Aix), then enjoy a picnic in one of the city’s parks before exploring an art gallery or museum.
