This artistic abode feels like a corner of Luberon paradise on the edge of the village of Bonnieux. Surrounded by oaks, herbs and olive trees, soak up the aromas of Provence as soon as you step into the glorious grounds of this stunning home.
Mas de Bonnieux is the perfect getaway for friends or an extended family wishing to spend quality time with each other whilst also experiencing the beauty of the Luberon. The bastide sleeps up to 17 guests across its seven bedrooms, each one so thoughtfully decorated with fine furnishings, works of art and individual charm. There are four spacious bedrooms on the ground floor, all with en suite bath or shower rooms, and a further three bedrooms and two shower rooms (one en suite) upstairs.
Imagine cycling into Bonnieux for morning pastries and fresh bread before returning to serve croissants and fresh coffee beneath the shade of the pergola. Guests have plenty of space to relax across the elegant lounge and wood-beamed dining room with a wonderfully long table for indoor feasts or board games. The kitchen is in the heart of the house and is brilliantly equipped with its Lacanche stove, two ovens and range of useful appliances.
It's idyllic outdoors whether you are sunbathing on the poolside decked terrace, swimming in the heated pool, playing table tennis or boules, challenging a family member to a game of giant chess by the oak trees or simply relaxing on the outdoor lounge with a glass of Luberon rosé as evening nears. The Provençal garden will delight your senses in every way.
Don’t miss the Friday morning market in Bonnieux, a fine way to pick up seasonal delights to serve back at home. On any day of the week it’s a charming and authentic village to explore with its narrow lanes, stone houses, bakery, butchers and small handful of restaurants including a high-end hotel-restaurant on the edge of the village just 500m away.
In the heart of the Luberon, this is a great location for visiting other iconic villages including Lacoste, Ménerbes, Gordes and Lourmarin. Follow shady marked trails through Bonnieux’s cedar forest a short distance away, make the most of the home’s bikes for cycle rides, or venture further afield to the likes of Aix-en-Provence and Avignon, both just an hour away from your beautiful French holiday mas.
What you should know…
- Guests often choose to cycle or walk into Bonnieux – just be aware that it’s especially hilly on the way back (as usual in this part of France, it is country lanes/roads with no pavement).

Location
About the surrounding area of Mas De BonnieuxThis beautiful mas is located in the heights of Bonnieux in the heart of the Luberon region of Provence. Both Avignon (49km) and Aix-en-Provence (48km) are around an hour away by car.
Mas de Bonnieux is set in vast grounds, situated along a country track which is located off the road leading to Apt (12km). This is a picturesque setting with a handful of neighbouring residences dotted across the area. There is a high-end hotel restaurant around 500m away or continue to the historic village centre with its bakery, butchers, a small handful of restaurants and delightful Friday morning market.
You can walk to Bonnieux in around 20 minutes, as long as you don’t mind the hills, especially on the way back (as usual in the Luberon, the walk is along country lanes/roads with no pavement). Cycling is another popular way to reach the village (and keep fit!).
South of Bonnieux, follow marked walking trails through the magnificent Forêt des cèdres du Luberon - the forest dates back to the 19th century and it’s a wonderful place for every age.
You are well located for visiting the many idyllic villages of the Luberon such as nearby Lacoste (7km) as well as Ménerbes (12km), Gordes (19km) and red-hued Roussillon (13km), all three classified as ‘Plus Beaux Villages’. Discover gorgeous weekly markets, restaurants with terraces, wineries and incredible panoramic views as you drive past orchards, vineyards and forests. Gastronomes note that the pretty villages of Lourmarin (11km), Ansouis (20km) and Cucuron (18km) are all home to Michelin starred restaurants.
