On the ground floor, you’ll find a vast living space with a fireplace connecting the lounge and dining area. A traditional yet fantastically equipped kitchen opens onto a spacious covered terrace, complete with an outdoor kitchen and barbecue, perfect for hosting al-fresco meals at any time of day. The ground floor also features a master suite with a private bathroom and additional single bed, ideal for families. Upstairs, three additional triple bedrooms await, each offering en-suite facilities to ensure privacy and relaxation for all.
La Maison Libre’s garden is a haven of leisure. The meticulously landscaped 3,000m² garden, adorned with gorgeous flowers and mature trees, invites you to unwind in shaded nooks or sunny corners. Swim in the heated 10x5m pool, play a game of pétanque, or enjoy table tennis and badminton. Whether sipping a cool drink on one of the two south-facing terraces or exploring the nearby restaurants and art galleries, every moment here feels idyllic.
Conveniently located within walking distance of the town centre, this holiday abode offers easy access to shops, café terraces and cultural delights – follow Van Gogh’s footsteps and dine out in gastronomic restaurants. A little further afield, the beauty of Les Alpilles awaits with its endless olive groves, vines, pine forests and picture-perfect villages waiting to be explored.

About the surrounding area of La Maison LibreOnly half an hour south of Avignon, La Maison Libre is set in an attractive residential neighbourhood just south of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Following local lanes/roads (no pavement) you can walk to the heart of the town centre in around 15 minutes or follow the canal path towards the tree-lined main road leading to the centre.
Artistic Saint-Rémy is a quintessential Provençal gem. In the heart of the bustling town, stroll through its narrow, cobbled streets, where every turn reveals boutique shops, art galleries, and cafés with pavement terraces. On Wednesday mornings, the vibrant market bursts to life, offering an array of fresh produce, artisanal goods and Provençal delicacies, providing visitors with a true taste of the region's flavours.
A gateway to adventure, explore Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park with its rugged limestone peaks, picturesque villages, and glorious countryside. Outdoor enthusiasts can discover the park’s extensive network of hiking and cycling trails which wind through vineyards, centuries-old olive groves, and woodland paths. Discover charming villages like Les Baux-de-Provence (10km), perched dramatically on a rocky outcrop and offering breathtaking views of the Alpilles. Meanwhile, hilltop Eygalières (12km) enchants with its tranquil streets and historic stone houses, a perfect spot for lunch out in a gastronomic restaurant or a leisurely afternoon.
Beyond Les Alpilles lies the historic city of Avignon (22km), a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning Palais des Papes and the iconic Pont d’Avignon. Best Suited For: All AgesAcross the spacious gardens, families will appreciate the boules court, table tennis, badminton as well as the swimming pool of course. Inside the house there is air-conditioning throughout and all four bedrooms sleep up to three guests and have their own bath/shower rooms.
It’s also lovely to be able to walk to the heart of Saint-Rémy. There’s no pavements most of the way although there is a route along a canal path which leads to the tree-lined main road with a pavement (this is also near a little supermarket and playground).
Follow Saint-Rémy’s Van Gogh trail ending at Monastery Saint-Paul de Mausole and visit the archaeological site of Glanum just south of the town. Young art enthusiasts may also enjoy Carrières des Lumières, around 10 minutes by car, where famous works of art are projected on to quarry walls.
Les Alpilles offers opportunities for walking, hiking, cycling and horse-riding. Beyond this part of Provence, discover canoeing and kayaking along the Sorgue River near Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, not far from the tree-top activity centre, Passerelles des Cîmes.
The little farm, L'Arche de Méo, is a charming place for a picnic or spend the day admiring the animals and playing in the playground at Zoo Barben, less than an hour by car from Saint-Rémy.
