This charming home in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence welcomes up to 6 guests with its inviting interiors and Provençal garden featuring a fantastic swimming pool.

There’s a great sense of space across the living and dining area with cosy furnishings, paintings and objets d’art alongside a stylish modern kitchen. Wood beamed ceilings, tiled floors and traditional furnishings contrast beautifully with contemporary touches following a recent renovation. Upstairs you will find three cosy bedrooms all attractively decorated alongside a shower room and WC (plus there’s a second bathroom downstairs).

We absolutely love the garden with its lavender, olive trees, terracotta pots and stone fountain. The swimming pool is charming with its sun loungers and chairs and there’s other picturesque spots for convivial evening apéritifs. The covered terrace is such a beautiful place for leisurely al-fresco meals on warm summer afternoons.

You can wander or cycle to the historic heart of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in around 1km – head there early on a Wednesday morning to make the most of the weekly market showcasing seasonal delights from the region. Saint-Rémy is also loved for its artistic heritage – visit little galleries and follow the Van Gogh trail before dining out in high-end restaurants serving the delicious flavours of Provence.    

This is a great base for exploring Les Alpilles with gems such as Eygalières, Maussane-les-Alpilles and Les Baux-des-Provence perfect for sightseeing and lunch. Enjoy long walks and cycle rides past vineyards, olive groves and pine trees, visit farms to sample local cheese and olive oil or venture further afield to soak up the rich history of Provence with Nimes, Avignon and Arles all amazing days out, all within an hour by car from your Saint-Rémy holiday home.

Les Lavandiers is in an attractive residential neighbourhood south-east of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, around 1km from the historic centre and half an hour south of Avignon.

You can stroll to the heart of Saint-Rémy in around 15 to 20 minutes following the country lane all the way to the centre (no pavement, as is typical in this part of France) or it’s a short cycle/drive. There is a small supermarket just south of the town, again about 1km on foot, not far from the tourist office and a much-loved children’s playground.

Spend time pottering around bustling Saint-Rémy as you visit art studios and little museums followed by lunch on a café terrace beneath the plane trees. Saint-Rémy offers a range of restaurants from traditional bistros to high-end establishments – this part of Provence is renowned for its excellent gastronomy. The Wednesday morning market is the highlight of the week – arrive early to stock up on seasonal delights and regional produce.

This is a superb base for exploring Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park. Enjoy lunch in a gastronomic restaurant in the picture-perfect village of Eygalières (12km) or head south to potter around the lovely shops and restaurants of Maussane-les-Alpilles (10km), not far from Les Baux-de-Provence (10.5km), one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’. Across Les Alpilles discover walking, hiking, cycling and horse-riding through landscapes of  pine forests, olive groves and farmland with glorious vistas of the iconic limestone peaks.

A little further afield, soak up the history or Arles (25km), Avignon (21km) or Nimes (48km), all fascinating days out, or pack a picnic and drive to the Pont du Gard (41km) to paddle by the shores of the Gard River as you admire the incredible Roman aqueduct, now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Families will love the sense of space across the living-dining areas as well as the garden with its fantastic swimming pool and table tennis.

It’s great to be able to walk along the road to Saint-Rémy (bear in mind there's no pavement most of the way). Just south of the historic centre, near the tourist office, there’s a popular little playground that youngsters will appreciate. Families may also enjoy following the Van Gogh trail, ending at Monastery Saint-Paul de Mausole (around 2km away) with its gorgeous lavender garden.

Family-friendly attractions within a 30 to 60-minute drive include the Vélorail des Alpilles in Fontvieille, tree-top activity centres near Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and Salon-de-Provence, Wave Island waterpark and the popular theme park, Parc Spirou Provence.

Discover canoeing/kayaking along the Gard or Sorgue Rivers, meanwhile animal lovers can visit the nearby little farm, L'Arche de Méo, or the larger Zoo Barben, just under an hour by car.

Security deposit €3000 charged to client's credit card as a pre-authorisation at least 2 weeks prior to arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

Departure time 10.00 a.m.
Minimum stay 7 nights - all other durations on request.
Changeover day Saturday - all other changeover days on request.
End of stay cleaning included? No. €250, payable locally. This is for a standard changeover clean. Guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
