Overview
Just a short stroll via country lanes from the archetypal Provençal village of St-Rémy and only 30 minutes from Avignon, Maison Coquette is a beautiful home in which to spend your holidays relaxing with loved ones.
Dating back to 1850, the owners have recently restored this home with style and elegance throughout. With wood-beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls, the Provençal ambiance prevails and fine furnishings and beautiful historic pieces are featured throughout the home. Sleeping up to eleven guests across five bedrooms, including a poolside annexe, the communal space is vast with a cosy office and delightful small salon as well as the more spacious living room with its grand open-hearth fireplace leading through to the convivial kitchen-diner, a wonderful place to create a feast for family and friends.
Outside the glorious terraces offer space for relaxation in the sun whether lazing in a hammock or sipping your morning coffee surrounded by the scents of Provence. An impressive pool house, which features the fifth bedroom, has delightful covered terrace with a summer kitchen and barbecue where long lunches can be spent enjoying local produce discovered at nearby markets. Not forgetting the heated swimming pool surrounded by decking and sun-loungers.
It’s just a 20-minute or so stroll past neighbouring villas into the heart of St-Rémy where you can dine fabulously at one of the many village restaurants from down-to-earth bistros to Michelin starred establishments. Wander through the narrow lanes of this charming Provençal village and discover artists at work in their galleries or follow the trail of Vincent Van Gogh; this is the place where he pained ‘Starry Nights’.
In the stunning Les Alpilles National Park, this is a remarkable area of vineyards, olive groves and landscapes of sunflowers and lavender. There are idyllic trails for hikers and cyclists, golf in beautiful surroundings and horse-riding through nearby countryside. Not forgetting the wealth of wonderful places to visit from Arles and Avignon to Gordes and the spectacular Luberon region nearby.
Maison Coquette is the perfect place to soak up the Provençal ambience whether you are lazing by the pool, dining with friends or family or exploring the captivating region around you.
