Overview
If you are searching for the perfect place to stay in order to experience authentic Provencal living, Maison Patrice is the place for you. Set in the outskirts of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, close to forests and mountain peaks, this home offers guests a wonderful base for exploring Provence’s towns and countryside.
Set on one level, Maison Patrice is a warm and welcoming family home which can sleep up to eight guests. This typically French house has shuttered windows which overlook the courtyard garden and lovely details such as the open fireplace. Packed with art work and everyday comforts, the villa is a true home from home rather than a stark holiday rental.
As you enter the house, you will find a spacious living and dining room with plenty of space for your group to gather and dine together. The shelves here are lined with books so you can snuggle up on the sofa to read a book with a cup of tea after a long day of sightseeing. In this area there is also a dining table meaning the room is great for socialising. If you require an additional bed, you can make use of the double sofa bed within this room.
Just next to the living space, there is a fully-fitted kitchen which is equipped with every appliance and gadget you will need for preparing drinks and meals for your nearest and dearest. There is even a Nespresso machine so that you can make your morning coffee with ease. You could opt to dine in the living area or take your meals outside as the garden has a number of dining tables.
When it is time to turn in for the night, you can choose between the three bedrooms. All of the rooms are air conditioned for your comfort and have a calming, neutral colour palette. The master bedroom boasts an ensuite bathroom, while there is also a spacious family bathroom available.
Outdoors there is a pretty, courtyard-style garden with a private pool, the ideal place for cooling off on a hot day. Out here you can also find a lounge area and multiple dining tables, one of which is covered by gorgeous vines to provide shade.
When you wish to visit some of the town's historic and cultural attractions, it could not be easier! The ancient Roman town of Glanum and the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole monastery are both just 1.5km away. Additionally, the shops, cafes and restaurants of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence are a mere 1.5km away.
If you would like to take a day trip to another town or village, there are plenty nearby, including the papal city of Avignon which is 26km away and Les Baux-de-Provence which is 10km away.

About the surrounding area of Maison PatriceMaison Patrice is located in the lovely neighbourhood of Saint Paul, just 1.5km away from the bustling town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. While staying here, you will have the historic and cultural attractions of the town on your doorstep as well as access to the peaks and valleys of the Regional Park of the Alpilles which is the backdrop to the home.
Sitting in a leafy suburb, Maison Patrice offers guests a peaceful small town setting close to walking trails and family-run vineyards. Some of Saint-Rémy’s best-loved tourist attractions are also here close to the home. Just 1.5km away from the villa is the stunning Saint-Paul-de-Mausole monastery which has stood since the 11th century. This beautifully-preserved monastery is worth visiting in its own right, but has been made famous due to the fact that Vincent Van Gogh, the Dutch painter lived here for a year of his life. While struggling with his personal life, Van Gogh retreated to a small room in the monastery where he created 143 paintings. In the centre of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, you will also discover Van Gogh walking tours and museums, the artist draws many tourists to the area each year. As you stroll around the town you will be able to spot many details and buildings from his work. In addition to the monastery, you can also visit the ancient Roman town of Glanum; this spectacular collection of ruined buildings includes homes, bath houses, a triumphal arch and a mausoleum.
The heart of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is just 1.5km away and has everything you could need during your holiday. This typically Provencal town is a maze of picturesque streets and historic buildings where you can find a great range of shops, markets, cafes and restaurants.
If you would like to get out of the town for the day, you have countless opportunities for exploring the great outdoors nearby. Regional Park of the Alpilles boasts fields of lavender, limestone mountains and dense woodlands where you can hike with your party or just enjoy a delicious picnic in the serene setting. Sports enthusiasts can utilise this vast parkland to hike, mountain bike, take part in a horse back ride or even go paragliding!
From your base at Maison Patrice, you can also drive out to visit other villages and towns. One of the finest is Les Baux-de-Provence which is 10km away by car. This charming village sits 250m high on a rock face and has been named as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village has a good selection of artisan shops and cafes with outdoor tables which gaze out of the surrounding countryside. Many visitors flock here to see the countless historic buildings and attractions such as the castle ruins and pretty churches. At the bottom of the hill, you can also pay a visit to a fantastic attraction known as the Carrieres de Lumieres where you can see the art work of world-famous artists projected on the interiors of a cave, the artist changes every year.

If you are searching for a quintessentially French holiday destination with a lovely climate and delicious food, this is the place for you.
There are so many villages nearby that you and the children could discover a new one each day if you wished. One of these is Paradou which is 12km away from the home. The village is easy to navigate on foot and has medieval castle ruins as well as lush gardens for you to visit. Another attraction that children always enjoy is a little museum called La Petite Provence; here you can learn more about village life in times gone by.
