This contemporary home, built into the hillside close to a picturesque village, is a perfect balance of modern living and natural beauty and boasts a private heated swimming pool surrounded by towering pine trees.

Inside, the open-plan living areas boast clean lines, minimalist design, and bright spaces. The light-filled entrance hall leads you through to the spacious living room, where large windows allow the scenery to become part of the experience. Whether relaxing by the TV or dining in the expansive kitchen, the panoramic views of the valley create an ever-changing backdrop.

Each of the four bedrooms offer a restful retreat at the end of the day with queen-size double beds, air-conditioning and en suite bath or shower rooms. Sleeping up to 8 guests, there are three doubles on the main floor with access to the covered terrace or poolside patio, whilst the fourth bedroom is upstairs with its own private balcony overlooking the hillside, pines and pool below.

Whether you’re dining al-fresco as the sun sets on the west-facing terrace by the barbecue or enjoying the morning light beside the heated swimming pool, there’s always a perfect spot to relax. Indeed, the swimming pool area is tucked away for privacy, providing a peaceful oasis where the only sound you’ll hear is the gentle hum of cicadas or the wind rustling through the trees.

Situated on the edge of a picturesque village, the villa is ideally located for exploring the region – there are hikes and bike rides on your doorstep. Elsewhere, from walking through olive groves in Les Alpilles to visiting nearby towns like Saint Rémy de Provence, and Arles, the possibilities are endless. In the Bouches-du-Rhône department, on the edge of Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park, this part of Provence offers a unique gateway to some of the most enchanting destinations in southern France.

In a private hillside setting on a residential lane close to a small picturesque village, there are bike rides and hikes directly from your doorstep. The local village is simple yet is home to a restaurant (on the edge of the village), grocery shop and tabac as well as a fruit and vegetable market.

Just a short drive away, the enchanting town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (10km) invites you to step back in time. Famous for its Roman ruins, galleries and its connection to Van Gogh, Saint-Rémy is a haven for art and history lovers. Wander through the bustling market square on a Wednesday morning, visit the Saint-Paul de Mausole asylum where Van Gogh painted many of his masterpieces, or explore the remnants of the ancient Roman city of Glanum.

Meanwhile, the dramatic landscapes of Les Alpilles and the village of Les Baux-de-Provence (11km) are just waiting to be explored. Perched high on a rocky hill with its centuries-old fortress, Les Baux offers panoramic views of the surrounding valley and is classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’. The surrounding countryside is ideal for hiking, cycling, or simply soaking in the beauty of this breathtaking region.

In the other direction, the twin towns of Tarascon (7.5km) and Beaucaire (9km) offer an authentic taste of Provence’s cultural heritage by the banks of the Rhône. Explore the medieval Château de Tarascon, a fortress that stands proudly over the town, and stroll along the picturesque streets of Beaucaire, a town with a rich history and beautiful riverside views.

Arles (16km), with its wealth of Roman architecture, is another must-visit destination. From the grand Arènes d'Arles to the hauntingly beautiful Théâtre Antique, the city's ancient monuments tell the story of its glorious past. Arles is also renowned for its art scene, having inspired some of the world’s most famous artists, including Van Gogh and Gauguin, and hosts the annual Arles Photography Festival, Rencontres d'Arles.

For a truly cultural experience, take a day trip to Avignon (25km), home of the majestic Palais des Papes, and Nîmes (37km), with its well-preserved Roman monuments. The iconic Pont Saint-Bénézet in Avignon and the famous Roman amphitheatre in Nîmes are just a few highlights of these timeless cities.
