How wonderful to be able to stroll to the local Farmer’s market every evening and pick up a wealth of delicious seasonal produce during your stay at Villa La Sorgue, a delightful village house with a private pool in traditional Provençal village of Velleron.
Market lovers also note you are only 6km from L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, famed for its antique stores and Sunday morning brocante, one of the most famous flea markets in Provence. That said, you may prefer to spend your time canoeing along the Sorgue River, hiking through the landscapes of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse or cycling to your hearts content in the foothills of Mont Ventoux.
Indeed, Villa La Sorgue enjoys a superb setting for guests wishing to soak up the authentic ambience of village life in Provence whilst also being so well located for so many highlights of the region. It’s such an attractive little home for 2-4 guests with a small, pretty lounge and dining area, a characterful wood stove, an open kitchen on the side alongside a double bedroom and modern shower room. A separate garden studio is home to the second en suite double bedroom and also features a private terrace.
Villa La Sorgue’s Provençal garden is gorgeous with a shady mulberry tree for al-fresco feasts, deck chairs by the small pool for warm summer afternoons alongside a stone bridge crossing the flowing natural stream – it really is so charming.
The heart of medieval Velleron is a short stroll away with a small handful of restaurants, a bakery and a small supermarket just on the edge of the village. The Sorgue River flows past the foot of the village, close to the market place which hosts a fantastic Farmer’s market six evenings a week (April to September, three times a week during other months). Only farmers from the Velleron area can sell their produce – the market has gained a fine reputation over time and attracts thousands of visitors each year. Wander back to your holiday home with strawberries, cherries, olives, melons and other seasonal delights of Provence.

Velleron is known throughout Provence for its wonderful Farmer’s market where local producers sell their seasonal delights at the foot of the village. The market takes place from Monday to Saturday at 6.00 p.m. (April to September) or three evenings a week from 4.30 p.m. at other times of year (the market is always closed on Sundays and public holidays). It is such a great way to fill your fridge – depending on the season, the area is known for its strawberries, cherries, asparagus, melons, olives, herbs and so much more. It has been listed as one of the 100 most outstanding markets in France.
Meanwhile, the medieval centre of Velleron is also a short walk away – climb the historic lanes (and steps) of this authentic working village and come across a bar-restaurant, pizzeria, patisserie and bakery and a few other places to eat. There is also a small supermarket on the edge of the village and larger supermarkets near L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (7km) is another great highlight of the area, a picturesque town loved for its antique stores, pretty cafes, waterwheels and famous Sunday morning brocante/flea-market. It is such a charming town to wander around and truly soak up the Provençal ambience.
A little further are Lagnes (13km) and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (12km) for tree-top adventures, hiking trails and canoeing/kayaking along the Sorgue River. Continue on to the landscapes of the Luberon for lavender fields, vineyards and iconic perched villages classified as some of the most beautiful in France including Gordes (26km), Ménerbes (26km) and Roussillon (35km).
In the other direction, cyclists will love the many routes across the Vaucluse countryside and foothills of Mont Ventoux – Bédoin (30km) is a mecca for cycling fans attempting the challenging mountain ascent. Meanwhile, be enchanted by characterful local villages such as Pernes-les-Fontaines (6km) and its many fountains and Saint-Didier (10km) with its café terraces and plane trees.

There is plenty to keep families entertained across the region. Just over a 10-minute drive away is Passerelles des Cîmes with tree-top trails for a range of abilities, not far from Fontaine-de-Vaucluse with its hiking trails and canoeing/kayaking opportunities along the Sorgue River.

We had a lovely stay at this property
We had a lovely stay at this property. It is in a small village with a few restaurants (one very good one!) bars and bakeries and a small supermarket. The property is a perfect place to relax, it has a lovely spec with a beautiful garden and a very helpful owner. I would highly recommend it and I am sure we will return at some point.

A wonderful time
We had a wonderful time in Velleron. The house was superb, the location was exactly what we were looking for and the owner was fantastic, helping us with tips for the area, etc. There is honestly nothing we can think of that can be improved, apart from the fact that we weren't able to stay another week as you were already booked!

We will be back with joy
The house is lovely and tastefully decorated. We took full advantage of the garden and the swimming pool while being able to easily go shopping on foot. We will be back with joy!

Beautiful house
Beautiful house, nicely decorated, we brought our bicycles and had a great week! The nearby farmers market is excellent!

Wonderful
We had a wonderful time at Villa La Sorgue. The house and garden are amazing and very well designed. The house is very nice furnished and the garden is beautifully landscaped. With great attention to detail, the small property creates a harmonious feel-good atmosphere. Our whole family felt very comfortable. Everyone found their favorite spot to splash around, read or watch the fish and ducks that could sometimes be seen in the stream. The surroundings of Velleron are also very pleasant for cycling. The farmer's market is also a big plus for the village, which we visited almost every day. We will definitely come back.

What more to say, everything was top!

Thank you!
Only positive feedback! We really enjoyed our stay. We really loved the house and the caretaker was amazing! She was very friendly and passionate about the house and the area. She gave us many very good tips for trips and restaurants. Big thanks!! The house was exactly what we hoped for: spacious, very stylish, with a great garden, relatively small but nice pool and with air conditioning in the house (was needed with the 37 degrees :-). No points for improvement possible! We would love to come again!

A special holiday
Our two week stay in Villa La Sorgue in Provence was amazing! The house was perfect and had everything we needed. The caretaker was lovely! She gave us great recommendations and helped make our stay extra special. We enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful garden and pool. It is situated in a convenient location close to many towns and sites. We loved walking to the local farmers market in the evenings and walking to the delicious bakery in the morning. It truly was a very special two weeks. We would definitely visit again!

Lovely holiday
Villa La Sorgue is very pleasant to live in, quiet, pretty, tastefully decorated both inside and outside. The garden is very elaborate and harmonious, you feel really good there, especially in the evening under the coolness of the Mulberry tree. We spent 15 days there very pleasantly. It is nice to be able to park the car on the premises. The welcome and attention given by the hosts is very sincere and comforting!

An absolute joy
The house is just lovely - beautifully planned and thoughtfully finished with elegant touches throughout. The garden is a joy to look at and to be in. Very nicely put together and planted. The caretaker is also a joy - she couldn't be more cheerful, helpful and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble! We loved our stay and the authentic village atmosphere. Well done to you all!
