Overview
You’ll be spoilt for choice when you take a holiday in the seriously stylish Agni Lodge, on the northeast coast of Corfu, set in the Greek Ionian Sea. This exquisite property is made of a two-bedroom lodge, and a separate one-bedroom studio, and can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, ideal for a family or couples sharing. Agni Lodge is part of a large impressive estate, and for bigger groups, the adjacent luxury villas can be rented at the same time.
Agni Lodge is hewn into the rocks over two levels, surrounded by a secure local stone wall, and tall trees for shade and privacy, and commands those eternally lovely, uninterrupted Ionian Sea views. The property comes complete with its own private parking, complimentary air conditioning, and Wi-Fi throughout. The star of the show is the centrepiece turquoise blue infinity sea view swimming pool, housed on a stone-flagged terrace. The interiors have been furnished to the very highest standards, with impeccable taste, using a subtle palette of hues of blues and dreamy creams. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the property with lots of natural light and let in cooling sea breezes. Whilst elegant luxury sums up the ambience of this serene villa.
The ground floor is home to a light and airy living space, with doors that open onto the pool terrace. The charming sitting room is furnished with a powder blue sofa, a contrasting armchair and footstool, white coffee and side tables, facing an open fire, and a flat-screen television, all under a pretty chandelier. The adjacent black and white kitchen is fully fitted with all the modern built-in appliances that you will need to cater for your holiday, including a fridge freezer, oven and hob, and that must-have morning coffee maker. A wood and white informal dining set completes the ground floor. On the lower level, there are two beautifully-appointed bedrooms, both with double beds, one with an ensuite bathroom, and one with an ensuite shower room. The self-contained studio is a bijou delight. The studio has a separate seating area with a baby blue sofa, an adjacent white galley style fully-equipped kitchen with a four-seater dining set, a wrought iron four-poster double bed with billowing curtains, and an ensuite bathroom.
The sea view terrace is sublime, with its step entry infinity sea view swimming pool, surrounded by sun loungers with shady parasols. Shady nooks are home to soft seating areas with comfy chairs and a view out to sea, where you can sit back, relax, and watch the yachts sail by. A pergola houses a wicker seating set, perfect for a morning coffee meet-up, and cocktails at sunset. Outdoor dining takes pride of place overlooking the azure waters as far as the eye can see, and the ideal setting for feasting alfresco as the twinkling stars begin to shine.

Location
About the surrounding area of Agni LodgeVilla Agni Lodge boasts a perfect position, nestled into a hillside overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea. Located on the northeast coast of the Greek island of Corfu, the property is a short fifteen-minute walk to the village of Agni. The villa is a scenic forty-five minute drive from the international airport of Ioannis Kapodistrias, along the island’s coastline.
If you are island hopping, there are two ports in Corfu town and a thirty-kilometre journey to your destination. In the village, you will find supermarkets stocked with provisions to cater for your holiday, and local tavernas where you can enjoy traditional Corfiot dishes. Most especially Agni is famous for the freshly caught seafood, best eaten by the seashore. The lodge comes with a concierge service that can arrange anything from private tours and boat trips to your own chef, and in-villa spa treatments. The villa benefits from a path that leads straight to the sea, and the nearest beach can be found in the village of Agni, with sunbeds, a dive centre, crystal clear waters that make it ideal for snorkelling, and a small boat jetty for trips around the bay.
The nearby towns of Nissaki and Kassiopi also have inviting beaches and excellent facilities. Corfu has two hundred and seventeen kilometres of coastline, which is populated with beautiful organised beaches, including the recommended Chalikouna, Alonaki Bay, Halikouna, Paleokastritsa, Glyfada, and most notably St George’s in the south, with the longest sandy beach, and fabulous facilities, and do visit the secret beach of Arkoudillas, on the southern tip of the island. For those who want to keep fit the island offers a whole host of activities, including hiking, mountain biking, cycling, yoga, walking tours, snorkelling and scuba diving, horse riding, water rafting, sailing, and an international golf course too.
Corfu is steeped in ancient and modern history, with ruins and temples two thousand years old, medieval fortifications, Byzantine fortresses, Venetian palaces, Greek Orthodox cathedrals, churches, monasteries, and museums galore. The UNESCO World Heritage site of Corfu old town is well worth a visit, and only forty-five minutes from the lodge. The old town has thousands of years of history, Venetian architecture, French influences, and English rule. Follow the ancient winding streets to discover fortresses and palaces, Byzantine and Archaeological museums, destination squares, thirty-seven churches and a cathedral, souvenir shops, and a whole host of inviting restaurants, cafes, and bars. Visit Achilleion Palace, once the summer home of Sisi, Elizabeth, Empress of Austria, take a trip to Mon Repos Palace, the summer residence of the King of Greece, and the birthplace of Prince Philip, or see the home made famous by Gerald Durrell’s My Family and Other Animals. For the twitchers, the protected Korission Lagoon near the south coast village of Agios Matteos is a must, with over a hundred and twenty bird species, and some notable butterflies, set in sand dunes, its nature’s paradise.
Get a taste of Corfu with an olive oil or wine tour, sample the delights, and then take some home with you. If it’s nightlife you are after, many of the beach clubs offer after-sundown sets, top of the list is Pazuzu Club in Glyfada or Fabrica at Acharavi. Party until dawn at the holiday hot spot destinations of Sidari, Acharavi or Kavos, or take a gamble at the Corfu Casino. Venture a few kilometres to Benitses Bay, where you can take daily boat trips, cruise along the shore, or island hop to Paxoi and Antipaxoi, tiny islets in the Ionian Sea.

How to reach Corfu island
There are two ways to get to Corfu island: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: During April to October, several direct flights arrive to "Ioannis Kapodistrias" Airport from Europe as Corfu is one of the most popular travel destinations in Greece. During these months, the airport also receives many domestic flights every day from Athens and Thessaloniki.
By ferry: Travelling by ferry is the most popular way of transport in Greece. Ferries to Corfu depart from Patra and Igoumenitsa. If you are travelling from Europe, Corfu is easily accessible by ferry from Venice, Bari, Brindisi or Ancona too. You can easily book your tickets using the link below or the search engine - the port you are looking for is "TBC".
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThere are loads for kids to do and see when you holiday on the fascinating island of Corfu. Starting with the property, and your own private infinity swimming pool, and as there are no set hours they can play and splash all day. The nearest beach is in the village of Agni, within walking distance, but a short car drive would be more comfortable.
The adjacent towns of Nissaki and Kassiopi also have organised beaches, and crystal-clear waters suitable for kids. Recommended family-friendly beaches are Paleokastritsa, near the old fortress, Agios Gordios on the west coast next to a church, and Glyfada and Ipsos beaches, for being organised, and offering great facilities. All the family will enjoy a day out at the Aqualand Corfu Water Park, where they can slip down the forty-nine different slides, splash in pools, jump in the jacuzzi, and play video games. Your daredevil offspring will be thrilled with a day out at Sidari Watersports, where they can parasail across the complex. For those seeking adventure, your kids can try their sea legs wakeboarding, water skiing, or stand-up paddle boarding, and if they don’t take to the water, there’s a whizz around the island Vespa tour. In the Corfu Aquarium, your children will love spotting fifty species of local fish.
For the more adventurous, don their walking boots and go Radar Hiking where they can discover, just like Gerald Durrell, author of My Family and Other Animals, the flora and fauna of the island. If you don’t fancy walking, take a Jeep or Quad Bike Safari across off-road terrain, and stop at authentic villages, where you can learn about Corfu culture and traditions. All aboard the daily boats from Benitses Bay, superb for a swim and snorkelling in the sea, and barbeque on board. Charter your very own private yacht for a family fun lazy day at sea, just ask the concierge team, and they’ll arrange it all for you.
Take the kids to Corfu town, where they can climb ancient fortifications, explore Byzantine and Venetian castles, stroll through the public gardens, listen to bands at the music pavilion, and play cricket on the English pitch in the old square. Visit many of the museums, including the unique Banknote Museum, displaying Greek money from coins to the Euro, and the Doll Museum in the Casa Palante, which brings traditional Corfu society to life. And if all that gets too tiring, hop aboard the city bus tour for a sample of all the major sites and sights!
