What you should know…

  • The main house features a quirky upside down layout which gives the bedroom direct access to the pool terrace
  • Please note that if you would like access to both of the bedrooms, you will need to select "4 guests" at the time of booking. Those booking for "2 guests" will only have access to the accommodation in the main house, however, the outside space will still be completely private.

You will reach the fabulous Villa Karpos in one hour from the airport. Located on the hills on the edge of the hamlet of Rou, cradled by Corfu’s mountains, the villa enjoys a delightful, very scenic location with sensational panorama. There are some amazing walking paths from the front door of Villa Karpos, crossing the wonderful Corfu Trail and passing ancient, picture postcard villages. The nearest supermarket is in Sinies, 10 minutes away. The nearest beaches are Agni, Avlaki, Kalami, San Stefanos and Nissaki which you can reach in roughly 20 minutes.

Not far from the village, you will find Acharavi on the northern coast of Corfu. Acharavi enjoys a wonderful variety of shops and bars which are sprinkled along the central street and along the beach promenade. Its golden beach stretches the whole length of the town, a lengthy 3km. Visitors will find plenty of loungers and umbrellas for hire and a wonderful selection of beach bars.

Closer still, in the lively north eastern corner of Corfu is the beautiful resort of Kassiopi. With the dramatic Mount Pantokrator overlooking the resort and with a stunning harbour, this once quiet fishing village is a very popular holiday resort. It boasts traditional narrow streets overlooked by the ruins of an ancient Byzantine castle. Kassiopi offers breathtaking views out to sea towards the Albanian coast as well as excellent restaurants. You will enjoy a delightful, tranquil walk around the headland.

Corfu Town or Kerkyra as it is otherwise known, is 45 minutes away in the car. It is one of the most beautiful and elegant towns in Greece. Though 7th in size, it is one of the most populated in the whole of the Ionian Islands. The town’s stunning architecture has many strong influences including Sicilian, Venetian, French and English and the town is brimming with elegant mansions, magnificent palaces, beautiful squares and majestic fortresses. The entire old city is declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Corfu Town’s unique charm, sophistication, character, atmosphere and faultless cuisine should not be missed!

The island of Corfu has over 120 beaches in total, a few hundred villages, nearly a thousand churches, a significant mountain range, valleys, waterfalls and forests as well as more than 3 million olive trees, three lagoons and numerous caves. The fauna and flora is world famous due to the Durrell family and especially since the TV series. You might need to book a two week holiday at Villa Karpos to see everything you want to.

The Island/Getting There

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Teens

Villa Karpos offers just one bedroom, so really it is ideal for a romantic break. However, you could take a young child with you or book the adjoining cottage for older children. You may prefer though to book another villa where things are easier with children.

There is a long list of things to do on Corfu with children. There are many beaches to choose from, from hidden, quiet coves to magnificent, highly organised stretches of sand with water sports and dining facilities everywhere. As well as Acharavi being an excellent family friendly beach, another of the north coast beaches, Avlaki, is also popular. You will find several schools teaching children to sail or windsurf. Avlaki is also a good spot for equestrian fun at the local Dimitris stables. Children of all ages are welcome and if the riders are proficient they may even get to discover the gorgeous coastline with the guides.

Children adore Aqualand, Corfu’s water park. It is just the place for a thrilling day out. The park caters for all ages and boasts a lazy river, wave pool, kayaking, rafting and extreme slides such as the Double Twister, Kamikaze and the Hurricane Twist.

For a completely different non-water based day you could head to the majestic Mount Pantokrator. It is the highest peak in Corfu and a popular pilgrim spot. It boasts the most amazing views of the whole of Corfu Island. On a clear day you can even see Albania and Italy even though Italy is 130km away!

In Corfu Town, children enjoy climbing the walls of the Old Fortress, the Venetian fort built in the 15th century and the New Fortress. The fortresses boast fantastic views of the turquoise waters. Also in Corfu Town, you can take a trip in Kalypso Star, the glass-bottomed boat that leaves the harbour to explore the Ionian Sea’s fascinating marine life. A 10 minute boat trip from Corfu Town takes you to the tiny island of Vidos where you can enjoy feeding the rabbits, seeing the peacocks, swimming and having lunch at the charming taverna.
