The villa features four thoughtfully designed bedrooms, each a haven of comfort and style. On the ground floor guests will find two bedrooms, each with double beds, as well as a single bedroom with access to a small furnished balcony. The master suite is located on the first floor and is a sanctuary of tranquillity with a double bed, and shared bathroom with free-standing tub, and a large furnished terrace with sea views.
But of course, on the isle of Crete, the magic really happens in the sun-soaked outdoor spaces and on this front Residence Harmony really delivers. What you should know…
- The swimming pool is unfenced so please be mindful of children at play.
- The owners are the descendants of the property and have kindly allowed lots of the original antiques and artefacts to remain in the property, which they ask guests not to handle the ones in the main house living area
- Residence Harmony is ninety metres above sea level, which means you get great sea views, but the fifteen minute walk to the beach can be a bit steep
- We recommend hiring a car to make the most of your stay on the beautiful island of Crete

About the surrounding area of Residence HarmonySurrounded by the lush smoke-green of olive groves and panoramic sea views, Residence Harmony is well-situated a short distance from Chania (a 25-minute drive) in a quaint Cretan village, and just 500m from a long, wave-lapped beach that offers all kinds of water sports. Whether you’re looking to hope in a kayak, stand up on a paddleboard, or even paraglide, this is the spot for you.
The nearby town of Platanias (9-minute drive) offers everything you could need for your vacation: a long beach, a variety of restaurants and bars with a vivid nightlife, and in the old village (Upper Platanias) many points of cultural and historical significance.
Chania itself is one of Crete’s two main cities. Walk through the old port’s picturesque alleys and historic neighbourhoods, stroll along to its 16th-century lighthouse and indulge yourself in the irresistible Cretan atmosphere and cuisine.
Crete is a fantastic place for hiking, perhaps most notably in the Samaria Gorge where you’ll find the deserted village of Samaria along with breath-taking natural landscapes and a wide range of flora and fauna including the rare species of wild goat known as the kri-kri.

How to reach Chania
There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.
By ferry: If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa. Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesHorse riding at Deres Village (20-minute drive) is a fantastic option for kids of all ages. The company runs tours for riders of all levels of experience and what each tour has in common is stunning scenery as you climb through olive groves and gaze down through deep valleys and the open expanse of sea beyond.
If you’re looking to mix a bit of education into your children’s holiday experience there is no shortage of fantastic museums and sights, including the Archaeological Museum of Chania and the Maritime Museum of Chania.
Or if natural history is more to the children’s liking, a short drive to the village of Ano Vouves (an 18-minute drive) provides the opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the oldest olive trees in the world. Though the tree’s exact age is unknown, conservative estimates place its age at over 2,000 years, while scientists from the University of Crete have estimated it to be as old as 4,000 years. What is more, the tree remains productive to this very day.
