Designed to mirror the outside world, creating an environment of calm and oneness with nature the architecture consists of stone and glass in a thoroughly eco-design. The entire area has rustic interior walls, wooden furniture and flooring, and a calming, natural colour scheme. The large sofa sits alongside the sleek dining table with space for the whole group to enjoy a meal on the cooler winter evenings (though there’s a stunning outdoor dining area for when its warm!) The adjoining kitchen sits beautifully against a backdrop of light through the vast windows and enjoys all the latest mod cons. The large island provides plenty of space for everyone to get involved in meal prep, and acts as a breakfast bar too!
There are three bedrooms, two doubles on this ground floor and the master bedroom on the first-floor. Each bedroom is sleek and stylish, with rustic stone walls, designed for simplicity, offering everything you need for a perfectly comfortable stay in a luxurious setting. The two ground-floor twin/doubles both enjoy direct access to the garden through huge patio doors that allow in plenty of natural light. The master-bedroom is indeed a masterpiece. With a row of vast bright windows inviting in the warmth and light of the world beyond, and offering exquisite views of the surrounding luscious, leafy scenery. Within the room there is a king size bed, a 42” LCD television, plenty of storage and a writing desk and chair.
A terrace on the first-floor with two comfortable chairs and side tables creates the perfect spot for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning sun. There is also a luxurious, masterfully designed, marble-panelled ensuite bathroom with a Jacuzzi, shower and double basin for the master-bedroom. The ground floor bathroom enjoys plenty of natural light, as well as locally quarried marble and stone features, with a hydro massage shower and WC. Both bathrooms are supplied with locally produced, organic Cretan toiletries. There is also an extra WC on the ground floor.
In the garden, the vast pool extends away from the veranda in an expanse of bright blue, with olive and orange trees overhanging. By night, the pool is a sparkling expanse of welcoming cool in the heat of the Cretan evening. On the terrace there is a charming seating area with comfortable sofas and a small coffee table. In fact, the garden offers a number of areas in which to socialise, or seek some peace and tranquillity, including a large dining area, several seating areas, and a row of sun loungers by the beautiful pool. Whether you’re after a glass of wine and a chat, an afternoon picnic in the sun, or a solitary hour with a good book, you’ll find your ideal space in the enchanting garden.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa GalaChania, the capital of Crete, is one of the most famous towns of the Greek islands, particularly for its authentic culture and character and historic structures including its beautiful Venetian Harbour.
It is an incredibly well-preserved Venetian town with all kinds of Medieval architecture, framing a bustling metropolis of museums, churches, narrow shopping streets, waterfront restaurants and crafts shops. Alongside the stunning coastal areas and mountainous landscapes are an array of outstanding remains and glorious buildings of an ancient era, including a picturesque harbourfront and interesting venetian lighthouse.
Chania is also the perfect location to try all kinds of local cuisine, wine and traditional feasts – some of the best local restaurants include: The Well of the Turk, Antigoni, Karnagio, Chrysostomos and Above Chania. Furthermore, for educational and historical adventures you can visit the Maritime Museum, or the Archaeological Museum, or take a trip to one of the many surrounding monasteries or historical sites including the Samaria Gorge, Venizelos Graves or the unique architectural complex of Tabakaria.
To the north of the island are the more touristic beach areas, and to the south are the more secluded and traditional beaches, punctuated by small seaside villages, and of course there are thousands of deserted coves and isolated bays for private enjoyment, if you look hard enough! The West Coast beaches of soft sand and coloured pebbles, such as Falasarna, are around 38km away from Villa Gala, and the South Coast beaches with crystal waters, including Sougia, are about 53km away.

How to reach Chania
There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.
By ferry: If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.
