Modern Ideal for Kids Walk to Beach Walk to Village Romantic

The perfect marriage of authenticity and luxury, Villa Venus sits a stones throw from perfect white sand and crystal clear waters. Nestled amongst olive groves in five acres of private land, the villa offers stunning views and an outdoor seating area that has to be seen to be believed.

A wooden promenade stretches out from double doors on the first floor. Saunter along barefoot as you listen to the sounds of the sea. Spot your private infinity pool down to the left, twinkling lights of the coastline to your right. As you reach the end of the decking you’ll find a covered seating area with a spectacular view of the perfect turquoise ocean. The view is truly remarkable, this is the perfect spot to enjoy some drinks before dinner, watch the sunset or curl up with a good holiday read.

Set over three floors, the sun-kissed villa benefits from heaps of natural light. On the top floor you’ll find the main living space with high wooden ceilings, welcoming wooden floors, huge windows and beautiful stone walls. A huge and comfortable corner sofa looks out over the ocean. At the other end of the room you’ll find the dining table and fully equipped kitchen furnished in a rosy pink. Step out the glass double doors onto the balcony to enjoy your meals al fresco.

The pale stone walls run through the entire villa, ensuring that each room feels filled with light. On the lower floors, each of the five bedrooms are elegantly minimal and gently lit, with choice furnishings that complement the space. Bathrooms are beautifully designed and of high-spec, allow yourself to relax completely under waterfall showers.

In the unlikely event you choose to stay indoors, Villa Venus has loads to do for you and the kids. There’s video games, board games, a DVD player, a great music library as well as table football and a ping-pong table in the playroom.

Moving outside, there’s much to be enjoyed besides the ocean deck - the obvious pièce de résistance. Private gardens surround the villa and the swimming pool (which can be heated on request). Lounge the days away on the sunbeds by the pool or take respite from the sun and take a relaxing dip as you gaze out over the sea. The nearest beach is picture perfect and it’s just five minutes’ walk away. Dip your toes in the sparkling water, enjoy deliciously simple lunches at the café or indulge in Cretan delicacies at the beach restaurant.

Nestled in a fabulous position with gorgeous views overlooking Loutraki Bay, Villa Venus will be a holiday home you won't be forgetting anytime soon! It has an excellent location in walking distance to the beach and amenities, whilst the picturesque town of Chania, with its famous Venetian port, is only a short 20 minutes car journey away.

Chania, located on the northwestern coast of Crete, is a destination rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. One of the most iconic experiences in Chania is exploring its Old Town, where narrow, cobbled streets wind past Venetian, Turkish, and Greek architecture. The Venetian Harbor, with its 16th-century lighthouse and bustling waterfront, is perfect for a leisurely stroll or a meal at one of the many seaside restaurants. The Archaeological Museum of Chania and the Maritime Museum offer a deeper insight into the region's history, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts.

For those who love nature, a hike through the Samaria Gorge is an unforgettable adventure. Located about 42 kilometres from Chania, this 16-kilometer gorge is one of the longest in Europe and offers breathtaking scenery, including steep cliffs, rare plant species, and glimpses of the native kri-kri (wild goat). After the hike, visitors often relax on the shores of Agia Roumeli, a secluded beach at the end of the gorge.

Chania is also known for its stunning beaches. Elafonissi Beach, famous for its pink sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters, is a serene spot ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Similarly, Balos Lagoon, located on the Gramvousa Peninsula, captivates visitors with its white sand and shallow, warm waters, making it a family-friendly option. Both beaches are a short drive or boat ride from Chania and are among the most beautiful in Crete.

How to reach Chania

There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.

By plane:
Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.

By ferry:
If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.

Kids love Crete! Other than the fine weather, tasty food and sun-bleached beaches, there’s plenty to do to keep the little ones captivated.

A trip to The Botanical Gardens of Crete is a real visual spectacle. A few hours set amongst the mountains and foothills will expose vegetation and wildlife the likes the kids have never seen! There’s a restaurant within the grounds too, so after you’ve worked up an appetite, re-fuel at this cute eatery.

If you have any football fanatics in your party, The Greek National Football Museum is a fine way to spend the afternoon. There is no entry fee and you will learn lots about the Hellenic Football Federation. Don’t forget, Greece won the 2004 UEFA European Championship…keep your eyes peeled for an effigy of the great Angelos Charisteas!

If your looking for something exhilarating and educational, visits to Dinosauria Park and the Aquaworld - Hersonisos should find a place in your itinerary. Aquaworld is a renowned site that nurtures & showcases rescued sea life, whilst educating visitors on how to preserve the ocean. Dinosauria Park hosts several interactive displays and educational games that will teach children about all the periods of the Mesozoic era.

Reviews

  • The views were spectacular!

    on 01/08/2023

The villa was even more impressive than the photos. We loved the place & had a fabulous holiday. Eftichia came in everyday bringing fresh bread & homemade pastries. She was wonderful & did a very good job keeping the villa clean & tidy. The views were spectacular. We would all love to stay there again one day.

  • Stunning

    on 25/09/2022

We had an unforgettable stay at Villa Venus. The views are stunning and so is the house itself. It was perfect for our family stay. Eftichia, who visited us every day, was so friendly and generous with the fresh food she prepared for us. It really made us feel at home. We loved the pool and playing table tennis in the garden, and it was fantastic to have the beach and a lovely taverna close by. Can't recommend it highly enough!

  • Simply Idyllic

    on 07/06/2018

Perfect villa in fabulous location, with incredible views from private jetty overlooking the sea.

  • A Special Stay

    on 07/10/2017

We had a great time. The villa has a fantastic position and had everything you could need whether eating in or out. The pictures unlike other villas we have stayed, don't do the villa justice and the views from the infinity pool and the decking were amazing. The villa is at the end of a lane and very secluded, not overlooked and ideal for a relaxing break if you want to get away. The pool was great for the kids and with a Fusball table and table tennis there is lots to keep children entertained. George, was a great host and we especially enjoyed the homemade pie we received. The villa is cleaned daily and Efftia could not do more to make the stay comfortable including a lovely chocolate cake. Their attentiveness made the stay special and its the small touches you sometimes remember.
