Overview
Totally unique, utterly exquisite, and with private beach access, Villa Livadi is a majestic palatial home with extensive grounds and impressive architecture!
Striking columns and balustrades add the perfect hint of grandeur to this incredible villa on the coast of Crete. The entrance is enchantingly historical, including a magnificent staircase in the entrance hall, as if entering an old castle or a stately home, yet once inside, you’re sure to feel right at home as the interiors ooze comfort and contentment. Huge archways, intricate bannisters and tapestries blend beautifully with the marble, stone and delightfully carved wood filling the villa with timeless elegance, beauty, and rich indulgence! Huge living spaces for the whole group invite you to gather, chat and enjoy fine foods, whether at the incredible dining area or in the several lounges.
In the main villa, each of the seven bedrooms is simply superb. A fabulous mix of double and twin rooms, each as inviting as the next! From ornate wooden headboards to luxurious roll-top bathtubs, the attention to detail is wonderful. Many of the rooms also feature fabulous glass doorways, leading you either into this enchanting garden or onto a private terrace overlooking it, and of course, with views out across the Mediterranean Sea. Casual seating here is perfect for a late evening glass of wine or a little peace in the mornings. Alongside each bedroom is a sublime ensuite or nearby bathroom, with marble walls, ornate double vanity sinks and elegant walk-in showers. A bungalow with an additional bedroom, sea views and garden access offer one final, fantastic space for guests, with a bonus kitchenette and living area!
Finally, this spectacular garden elegantly rounds off an exceptional villa. The spectacular pool, a magnificent centrepiece, seems to extend into the distant balustrades, while the striking columns rise distinctly ahead, framing the beautiful sea views. Down the sides of the pool are numerous loungers, welcoming you to settle in and soak up the sunshine in between refreshing dips into the cool depths of the pool. A pergola to one side offers a little shade for some alfresco dining, with a big barbecue beside it for memorable meal times in the fresh air! As you descend the quiet pathway through your garden, you’ll find your private route to the magnificent Ferma Beach below!

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa LivadiTucked on the south-eastern coast of the incredible island of Crete, Ferma is a fantastic location for your stay on this superb island, with the best of local life right at your fingertips! Of course, the beach is simply a few feet away, and accessed by your very own private path. But what’s more, the whole area is known for its beaches! From the golden bay of Agia Fotia, to the calm expanse of the Agios Andreas, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to sandy, picturesque spots to swim, paddle and sunbathe!
In the town itself, you’ll find fantastic restaurants and tavernas, only a few minutes from the villa. Meanwhile, over in the bustling town of Ierapetra there are tons more plus fantastic shopping and lively bars - just a 15 minute drive from the villa.
Ierapetra is in fact the southernmost city of Europe and is the picturesque site of an old Venetian fort. Tucked just ten minutes outside the city, you’re ideally placed to enjoy its magnificent beaches, indeed some of the longest and finest sandy beaches on the whole island of Crete!
If you’re looking slightly further afield, you could do much worse than to visit the enchanting market town of Sitia, where the friendliest locals in Crete are waiting to greet you. Its small harbour and picturesque bay are framed by fabulous mountains inland, and a perfect sense of peace across the whole town makes for a wonderful spot for a wander, a peaceful coffee in the sunshine, or a fine alfresco meal overlooking the harbour.
The locals, like across much of Greece, are tremendously friendly and welcoming, and will ensure you can enjoy this spectacular spot on the coastline with joy. Crete is the largest of the Greek islands, and is abounding with beautiful crystal-clear waters, soft sand beaches, picturesque coloured pebbles, monasteries, caves and rich, verdant nature! Across the island you will find a vast array of beaches, including larger, more developed, traditional beaches, and much more secluded ones, ranging all the way to thousands of deserted coves and isolated bays! Small seaside villages punctuate the coast, with the occasional larger town.

Region
On the northern coast, the thriving city of Heraklion is the perfect destination for visitors wishing to learn all about Crete’s incredible history whilst soaking up the hospitality and vibrancy of the island’s impressive capital.
Heraklion is also a wonderful gateway to the charming coastal village of Agia Pelagia, the popular resorts of Hersonissos and Kato Gouves, the nightlife of Malia as well as the stunning landscapes of the Psiloritis Natural Park.
The city’s heritage dates back thousands of years, as can be seen just south of Heraklion at the fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site, the Palace of Knossos, once the centre of Minoan civilisation. Keen historians should also visit the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion and Historical Museum of Crete.
Meanwhile, back in Heraklion’s old town, admire stunning views as you stroll along the Venetian fortifications dating back to the time when the island was under Venetian rule, then look out for beautiful architecture from the Ottoman Empire.
Shopping in Heraklion is a delight. Pick up Cretan delicacies at the bustling Central Market, then explore the heart of the old town with narrow lanes and grand squares, coming across little shops, boutiques and historic churches as well as cafes, restaurants and bars. In the height of the summer, embrace the city’s wonderful ambience with café terraces, outdoor theatre and bars and clubs near the waterfront.
Enjoy the hearty cuisine of Heraklion where traditional dishes are prepared using locally sourced ingredients such as dakos salad made with Cretan tomatoes, feta and olive oil or slow-cooked stamnagathi with wild greens from the island. Grilled octopus, Cretan fish soup and other seafood specialities are served with pride in tavernas and restaurants across the region.
Head to the family-friendly shores of Ammoudara beach with its blue-flag, sun-beds and beachside bars, also a popular spot for kite-boarding. A little further west is the picturesque fishing village of Agia Pelagia with another gorgeous beach, turquoise coloured water and tavernas overlooking the sea.
Venturing east instead, the popular tourist resorts of Hersonissos and Kato Gouves offer long sandy shores, summer sun-beds and a wealth of watersports as well as waterparks, boat trips, cafes, restaurants and bars. Nor forgetting the nightlife and beaches of Malia as well as the Minoan Palace of Malia, not far from the idyllic Potamos Beach.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesBoasting a terrace that stretches in every direction, Villa Livadi is a fabulous choice for the whole family (or two!) to get together with children of all ages, for a memorable holiday together.
This incredible garden includes a stunning lawn area, complete with its very own playground for the youngsters, while the older children and teenagers will adore this stunning private pool, in a perfectly secluded location, for swimming, splashing and playing all kinds of games.
What’s more, you’re right on the sea-front – so the whole family can head in for some fun in the waves and the sand, ensuring that kids of all ages will be entertained throughout your stay! Of course, beaches of all kinds can be found across the hundreds of miles of coastline of the beautiful island of Crete, with crystal-clear waters and vast white sand stretching to the horizon.
A local favourite is undoubtedly Galini, beside a stunning, small village it boasts the most spectacular turquoise water and is wonderfully secluded! But if you’re more after sun loungers, a few cafes and a bit more life - fear not! Agia Fotia offers plenty of beds as well as cafes, taverns and hotels nearby - and most importantly has the most fantastic scenery, nestled as it is into the mountains!
The stunning landscapes around each beach ensure the kids can entertain themselves merrily, while you keep one eye on them and the other enjoying your surroundings! With plenty of entertainment for both them and you, you can be sure you won’t be wondering what to do with them.
Villa Livadi also comes with a whole array of services, so don’t feel like all the pressures on you! If you’d like a nanny, or someone to do the shopping and other practicalities, so you can focus on the important things like having fun - just say!
And with a private yacht, with a skipper and host, you can guarantee the kids a day to remember as you hop between the many surrounding islands, or visit countless sandy bays, impossible to access from the land. The kids will love gliding over the dazzling water, and you’ll be well looked after so can be sure to relax yourself!
