Overview
The beautifully appointed Villa Levantes enjoys a fabulous spot with gorgeous sea views in Nopigia. Surrounded by lush greenery, olive groves and the village’s beautiful beach, Villa Levantes is a great pick for families and groups of friends alike. It boasts three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a stunning open plan living space, a fabulous terrace, a superb pool and a unique, glass-floored walkway that goes over the pool. The villa is beautifully presented with contemporary flair, unique design and modern furnishings.
The ancient, pretty, coastal village of Nopigia is utterly charming with a lovely welcoming taverna, a Byzantine church, a village store and a sandy, family friendly beach. Nopigia is 6km east of Kissamos and 30km west of Chania, nestled on a wonderful stretch of coastline east of Kissamos Bay and on the edge the Rodopos peninsula. You will discover many romantic, hidden, rocky coves and the remote beaches of Choni as well as the famous, spectacular beaches of Balos on the Gramvousa peninsula, Falasarna and Elafonissi which are within easy reach of the villa. You can walk from the villa to Nopigia’s village centre in less than fifteen minutes.
Villa Levantes is set in impeccably manicured grounds, a privileged location where you can totally relax. There are three villas in this wonderful olive grove so you could ask friends to come along and enjoy a holiday in Crete while still enjoying a little privacy of your own. You may want to look at Villa Pounentes or Villa Scirocco if you are interested.
The living space is a total delight, mostly in white but with vivid red colour splashes. It boasts a high, beamed, vaulted ceiling, glass doors drowning it in natural light, modern furniture, a feature fireplace and a smart kitchen with a breakfast bar styled dining space. The chef’s in your group will find everything they need for your self-catering holiday. As well as a plush white sofa, there are bright red accent chairs, red cabinets and red stools in the kitchen and a striking red light hanging from the ceiling. The doors open to the main terrace and swimming pool where you can head out with a good book, a chilled glass of delicious local wine and your sunglasses.
The villa is built around its swimming pool with the living spaces on one side and two of the bedrooms on the other. They are joined by a glass-bottomed corridor which sits over the pool. It is a fun design and makes the most of Villa Levantes’ idyllic location. With modern architecture, an excellent layout and outstanding attention to detail, the villa is very attractive and superbly comfortable.
Villa Levantes offers three minimalist yet stylish bedrooms, two at the end of the glass corridor and one under the raised living space. All three boast beautifully dressed, comfy beds. The villa enjoys two bathrooms, one with a bath and overhead shower and the other with a shower. Like the rest of the villa, they are immaculate, beautifully maintained spaces.
Outside, you will enjoy the views, the pool, the mature garden and the spectacular, tranquil surroundings. You just need to pick your spot to unwind and soak in the views. Dining alfresco on the terrace is joyful.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa LevantesVilla Levantes enjoys a delightful, slightly remote location in the charming village of Nopigia. It is very peaceful and the beach is simply wonderful. Nopigia is one of the oldest villages on the island and enjoys a few handy amenities as well as plenty of charm.
Very close by is the buzzy tourist resort of Kissamos, on the edge of the Gramvousa peninsula. Kissamos is also known as Kastelli Kissamou in reference to the former Venetian fortress that used to dominate the town. Kissamos enjoys many tavernas, beaches and plenty of shops. Surrounding the town are fertile olive groves and vineyards. The main beach is Mavros Molos which is sprinkled with trees, sunbeds and parasols. The Archaeological Museum of Kissamos is located on the main square, Stratigou Tzanakaki, boasting an impressive collection of local discoveries from a wide range of historical eras. A little further north of the main port of Kissamos is the quaint, colourful Old Port of Kastelli Kissamou which is brimming with brightly coloured fishing boats, a photographer’s dream.
On the Gramvousa peninsula, Balos Lagoon Beach is absolutely stunning and one of the most photographed beaches in Greece. The lagoon of Balos has silvery white sand and exotic, white, vivid blue and turquoise waters. The sea is very shallow and warm. Beyond the rocks at the boundaries of the lagoon, the water is deeper and ideal for snorkeling. The lagoon and wider area with rare species of flora and fauna are protected under the Natura 2000 programme. Eleonora falcons, shags and cormorants nest in the caves and the area is a shelter for protected monk seal and loggerhead sea turtle. You will think you are in the Maldives or somewhere as it is so beautiful. Balos can be reached by car, though be prepared for a bumpy ride or you can take a boat trip to the beach. North of Balos, in Cape Korykon, there are remains of the small Roman town of Agnio with the temple of Apollo and the picturesque chapel of Agios Sostis.
At the western base of the stunning Cape Gramvousa, 17km west of Kissamos, you will discover Falasarna Beach, another fabulous Cretan gem. The beach has been voted as one of the ten best beaches in Europe in the past. Falasarna Bay actually consists of five consecutive dazzling, silver-sanded beaches. It is huge as well as gorgeous and has such a dazzling, clear, turquoise blue sea. At the northern end of the beach there are ruins of the ancient Grecoroman city of Falasarna. There are several companies offering watersports including Falasarna Activities who offer wakeboard and jet ski tuition.
Elafonisi is also a magical place that consists of a small islet with white and pink sandy beaches. Visitors can wade out to the island to enter another world. The island is an internationally classified nature reserve and home to more than one hundred rare plants including summer flowering sea daffodils that look like white cups. The island is a nature lovers paradise. To the left of the sandbank, windsurfers enjoy the prevailing winds.
To the other side of Nopigia, along from the Rodopos Peninsula, is the lively resort of Platanias. Platanias is a large tourist resort which boasts electric bars and nightclubs so if you are looking for a buzzy night out you can head there. Next comes the lively Agia Marina where you will find a gorgeous beach, glorious sunsets and excellent feasts at its many restaurants. Roughly 30km from the villa is the charming and picturesque Old Town of Chania. Its atmospheric 14th century Venetian harbour, old port, narrow, cobbled shopping streets, colourful bougainvillea and waterfront restaurants make this a top-notch evening out. The sunset views are breathtaking with the Venetian lighthouse a focal point. You can walk along the harbour wall to the lighthouse.
Samaria Gorge is the longest gorge in Europe at 16km which would take roughly six hours to pass along the whole gorge. Otherwise you can drive to Chora Sfakion and take a boat to Agia Roumeli and walk at few kilometres at the end of the gorge. The Imbros Gorge is also very beautiful and takes approximately two hours. You can combine this walk with swimming in Fragokastelo Beach.

Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Levantes is ideal for a family holiday. With three bedrooms, a gorgeous living space, a lovely pool and a garden area, it is peaceful and spacious. The beach at Nopigia is wonderful though you will also be drawn to the famous beaches of Falasarna, Elafonisi and Balos. There is no shade in some places such as the island at Elafonisi so you need to be prepared. The beaches are absolutely stunning. Kissamos Beach is close by with several surf schools including Kalo Surf and a number of opportunities to learn to stand-up paddleboard. Also at Kissamos you can take many boat trips, either to Balos or just to enjoy swimming and snorkeling in the clear blue water.
If you’re keen to explore the local environment, you’ll come across some outstanding natural wonders. The well-known Cave of Agia Sophia near Kissamos is a remarkable sight, full of dramatic, twisted stalagmites and stalactites. The Sirikari Gorge that runs from the village of Sirikari down to Polyrrinia can be explored on a three hour walk, where you will see a wealth of beautiful plants and as well as wild animals. Another gorge, the Keramari Gorge near to near Kissamos, is the entrance to the traditional village of Milia. Active children may enjoy mountain biking or hiking in some of the gorges or the eroded, bizarre-looking hills of Komolithi.
Chania Town is a great place for families. Minoan’s World of 3D Museum and 9D Cinema is an immersive cinema where you can learn about the Minoan history while enjoying 11 effects such as earthquakes, snow and much more. The movie stars Zeus as a baby and as a God, abductions, flying too close to the sun and an eruption of the volcano in Santorini causing a devastasting tsunami that ended the Minoan era.
Aqua Creta Limnoupolis is a fun water park close to Chania. It offers extreme adventure with impressive water slides including two freefall slides, a black hole, a triple twist, a rainbow multi-slide and two giant slides. It also boasts a lazy river, a kid’s pool and an artificial island.
The cuisine in Crete is delicious and it is very easy to eat out with children. You should definitely stop at a Cretan bakery for biscuits and pastries. Loukoumades are honey drenched doughnuts that children adore!

Great holiday accommodation
Great holiday accommodation, surroundings were beautiful even with a road is fairly close to the villa. It doesn’t impact too much and the views are simply stunning across the bay. There were three nice little family run restaurants all within about 10 or 15 minutes walk and somewhere great to get coffee in the morning, accommodation itself was clean well kept and appointed and the olive oil and fruit basket bottle of wine etc. All left in preparation for us were really nice touch. I’d happily go back there again one week just was not long enough.
Don't miss out! Reserve now and get a full refund if you change your mind within 48hrs.
