Overview
Peacock Villa sits in the area of Pilikata on the northern side of Ithaca island. Known as the homeland of Odysseus, Ithaka island is every bit as rugged, romantic and beautiful as it is described in the legend. This stunning property boasts mesmerising sea views, character features and modern comforts, all just a ten-minute drive from the white sands and turquoise water of Afales beach.
The sun-flooded terrace presents a romantic, relaxed holiday feel from the moment you arrive. The villa, with the pool on one side and a beautiful dining and barbecue area and a relaxing balcony, creates a connection between the interiors and exteriors. The terrace offers enough room for guests to socialise together as a group, as well as find quiet corners to enjoy some private time.
The villa presents a blend of character features, modern appliances, and a romantic atmosphere when you step inside. The walls are made up of old firebricks, with wooden floors and solid wood fixtures, creating a homely, warm feel. On the ground floor, there is a lounge, dining room and kitchen, all open-plan, with patio doors opening onto a sunny balcony. The space is not huge, but a double ceiling height, with a wrap-around, open balcony on the first floor, makes the room feel double the size. The addition of the outdoor balcony also creates room for everyone to come together, spending quality time as a group. Also, on this floor is a beautiful bedroom and bathroom. An internal staircase leads up to the first-floor balcony and the second bedroom and bathroom, which offers a romantic atmosphere perfect for couples.
Whether it is days on white sandy beaches, private boat trips or a hike around the local area you are after, Peacock Villa is the perfect place to return to, your own private hideaway on the island!

How to reach Ithaca island
Ithaca is one of the Ionian Islands and is closest to Kefalonia, Lefkas and the Greek mainland.

Ferry services are fairly frequent, with sailings from Kefalonia, Corfu, Lefkas and Athens (Piraeus Port). There is also a limited route between Fiscardo (North Kefalonia)and the small port of Frikes.

Beautiful & Peaceful
The villas are situated 5 minutes outside of Stavros & roughly the same from Frikes if driving. There are 4 beautifully built villas each with its own colour theme, our villa was blue. All the villas are situated in private gated grounds and can only be accessed through very large enclosed electric gates, one set for the top 2 villas and one for the bottom 2 villas.
Finding the villas could not be simpler, Diana (the owner) arranged to meet us by the church in Stavros in her car and we followed her to the villas. Once there everything is explained to you in detail, which was great. You are also provided with a few basic grocery items to start you off with, but what was really nice it included a small homemade meze & bottle of wine and Ouzo perfect after our drive. The villa was amazing; the build quality was incredible, very well laid out, almost medieval inside, with a vaulted ceiling and gallery. A nice lounge with sofa and large dining table. Stairs lead off the lounge up to the main bedroom and bathroom; there is also another bedroom downstairs and a smaller washroom with shower just off the well-equipped kitchenette.
Two sets of double doors open off the lounge onto a veranda set out with table and chairs, perfect for that morning breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night coffee. At the side of the villa is a beautiful large swimming pool, with rubberised steps to stop you slipping, brilliant. There’s plenty of space around the pool to relax, some nice sun loungers, table, chairs and also a big sun shade. Plus other outside areas to sit in and a large BBQ area.
It’s very quiet here; the only noise comes from sheep, birds and maybe the odd car that's it. There are views of the surrounding hills and towards Frikes valley and the sea. The villas and grounds are absolutely spotless maintained daily by Elena who was also lovely.
It’s certainly a place to relax, chill out around a lovely pool which gets lots of sun, and enjoy some nice food and drinks. All in all, you are just left to enjoy your stay which is exactly what we did
We loved the villa and the area.
