Getting There

How to reach Kefalonia island

There are two ways to get to Kefalonia island: either by flight or by ferry.

By plane:  During the busy months, the airport of Kefalonia (EFL) receives a great number of domestic but also charter flights. The airport is located 7 km outside Argostoli, the capital of the island.

By ferry: Kefalonia has three ports: Sami (SMI), Argostoli (ARM), and Poros (PKE). If you want to arrive in Sami you should depart from Patra (GRA). In case you want to arrive to Poros or Argostoli you can depart from Killini (KIL). The trips last from 1.5 to 3 hours. For a fun-filled day with the kids, why not pay a visit to Odysseus Theme Park which is 27km away. This is a natural theme park with walking trails which weave through scenes of Greek myths which will bring history to life in front of the children’s eyes. The park also has a small zoo, restaurant, play area and gift shop, so you can spend all day there.
