Villa Cream is a fabulous property. It is calm, elegant and beautifully finished with a magical blend of vintage furnishings. It cleverly combines its Ionian architectural design with Venetian and Tuscan interiors so much so that you can just imagine this gorgeous property sitting in Italy’s rolling hills. Villa Cream boasts four stunning bedrooms, a beautiful living space, a gorgeous kitchen diner, lush Mediterranean gardens, a sensational terrace and a super swimming pool. The villa boasts astounding uninterrupted sea views which will send you home with magical holiday memories.
Villa Cream is located in Mavrata in the south of Kefalonia. It is a wonderful location 27km from the island’s capital and close to Skala. Skala boasts a Blue Flag, a three-kilometre long sand and pebble beach with lively beach bars, secluded stretches and plenty of watersports. Skala is lively and popular with an excellent selection of gift shops, mini-markets, bars and restaurants. Once a small fishing village, Skala is immensely popular though you can still find a quiet spot. It is surrounded by fragrant pine trees and boasts a warren of narrow cobblestoned streets sprinkled with delightful eateries. Though seriously damaged by the earthquake and rebuilt in 1956, there are still some well-preserved mosaics found within a 3rd-century Roman villa on the edge of the village and ruins of the Temple of Apollo which dates back to 600 BC a couple of miles out of town. Outside of Skala and Mavrata, you will discover vineyards, olive and orange groves, fields and hills, home to goats and sheep and thousands of beehives which are used to make the delicious Kefalonian thyme flavoured honey. Close to the villa is the lovely Nicky Beach.
Villa Cream will quickly melt your heart. Its decor and ambience is so calm, elegant and cool. The attention to detail at the villa is impressive and every item of furniture is beautiful. It is a new villa that offers luxury, comfort and modern holiday living. It is the perfect abode for a spot of switch-off and is ideal for families or groups of friends. The villa is built on three levels, the pool level, the ground level and the first level. The pool level offers three exceptional bedrooms with private bathrooms and direct access to the pool and a barbecue. The ground level is home to stunning living spaces which exit to a large balcony where you will enjoy astounding sea views. The master suite sits on the first floor.
The living area is bright and airy, drowned in the natural sparkle of Kefalonian sunlight which streams through its many windows and doors. The large fireplace is a focal point with built-in bench seating adorned with lovely scatter cushions on either side. There is also a beautiful upholstered vintage sofa and gorgeous wooden accent chairs, a fabulous tiled floor and other attractive wooden furnishings. The open-plan kitchen and dining area are also wonderful. A modern kitchen sits at one end with excellent appliances and a breakfast bar with stools. Next comes a painted circular table and stools. The large shaded balcony is just wonderful, the ideal spot for breakfast with a view or pre-dinner drinks while the chef leaves the pans on the hob. The panoramic views are incredible.
The master bedroom suite is stunning. Every room in this villa feels so mellow and inviting with its natural colour palette and simplicity. You will dive deep into slumber on your comfortable bed in luxury linens. The master comes with an immaculate ensuite bathroom and a loft working area should you need to catch up on some emails. The three bedrooms on the pool level are equally inviting. They too offer beautifully dressed beds where you will enjoy the sleep of kings, possibly listening to the soothing soundtrack of the sea. Each bedroom enjoys a smart ensuite bathroom and one also offers a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting area and a fireplace. This may be an ideal room for grandparents or another couple that might appreciate a little private time.
The terrace is idyllic with breathtaking sea views, a wonderful pool surrounded by luxury loungers, a lovely alfresco dining area and a pretty garden. This is sprinkled with olive trees, lush lawns and colourful Mediterranean planting. You may not want to leave this oasis of calm but the delights of Kefalonia will be waiting for you.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa CreamVilla Cream enjoys a wonderful location in the south of Kefalonia, a magical island full of stunning beaches, attractive resorts, friendly locals and some excellent restaurants. Kefalonia is a paradise island with a mythical Greek history at its heart. The scenic setting for Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, the island has much to offer and will definitely steal your heart. If you have time during your trip, the towns of Argostoli, Lixouri, Fiskardo and Assos should all be on your list of places to visit.
The nearby resort of Skala is lively and vibrant with a wonderful beach which boasts watersports, bars and plenty of sun loungers and parasols. There are some trendy bars, traditional tavernas serving delicious feta-covered feasts and some excellent shops. Skala is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and fields full of sheep and goats. Just on the edge of Skala are the remains of a Roman villa with its mosaics depicting an altar with a sacrificial bull and other wild animals.
Just along the coast is Potamaki Beach which has been declared a conservation area thanks to its resident loggerhead turtles laying their eggs. If you visit the beach at night, the turtle watches are fascinating. Kaminia Beach is also a nesting ground for loggerhead turtles. Just minutes from Skala, you can also visit the waterfalls of Potistis.
Pessada is a delightful seaside village with lovely views over to Zante. It enjoys several pretty beaches with crystal clear emerald water and rocks dotted around the bay. Other beaches that are worth visiting are Trapezaki Beach, Avithos Beach, Ammes Beach and Minies Beach Makris Gialos Beach, Xi Beach, Poros Beach and the famous Myrtos Beach.
Kefalonia’s capital, Argostoli, stands proudly at the far end of a natural bay surrounded by mountains and lush forests. The major 1953 earthquake destroyed the town which was rebuilt and is now a cosmopolitan wonder with a palm-lined coastal promenade, a wonderful array of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, a small ferry quay where boats can take you to Lixouri and fishing boats moor up and a lively central square. You will discover the beautiful Church of Saint Spyridon and the fascinating clock tower of Campana Square. The town’s Archaeological Museum of Kefalonia is home to interesting archaeological finds from the Mycenaean, Hellenistic and Roman periods. There are plenty of other museums and monasteries to visit including the Byzantine Ecclesiastical Museum, the Monastery of Agios Milapidias, the Monastery of Sission and the Historical and Folklore Museum of Corgialenos.
You can take the boat over from Argostoli to Lixouri, the second-largest town in Kefalonia. Lixouri was built on the site where the ancient city of Pali use to be. It offers delightful restaurants and bars which line the busy waterfront and the main square, Plateia Petritsi. Lixouri hosts many festivals throughout the year and is known for its rich cultural traditions. It boasts one of the oldest philharmonic schools in Greece. You can visit some atmospheric churches with wonderful frescoes, the archaeological museum, neoclassical buildings and the famous Monastery of Kipoureon.
Further north are Assos and Fiskardo, both wonderful day or evening excursions from the villa. Assos is peaceful and charming with some excellent restaurants and cafes. It is surrounded by luscious green scenery and verdant forests. It offers a mystical atmosphere, almost as though the village is lost in time. Pretty pastel-coloured houses are nestled into the steep hillsides and the castle is a popular visit. On the northern tip of the island, Fiskardo is trendy and chic. Its waterside dining is fabulous and there is a wonderful array of unique boutiques and gift shops. As well as colourful fishing boats in the harbour, you will see many luxury yachts as Fiskardo is definitely one of the places to be in Kefalonia, albeit it is located at the far end of the island.
You should not miss a trip to Myrtos Beach, one of the most photographed beaches in all of Greece. It is near Assos so you could combine the two. The two-kilometre-long beach is backed by dramatic limestone cliffs and fringes a spectacular turquoise blue sea. The view from the road above is stunning. Antisamos Beach is another popular wonder. Like Myrtos it is made up of white pebbles and is backed by lush pine wood. Many of the scenes in Captain Corelli’s Mandolin were filmed there. It is not an easy drive to Petani Beach but it is worth it. Epic limestone cliffs encircle this glorious white sand and gravel beach, giving the sea a luminescent quality. Makris and Platis Gialos Beach is very organised with plenty of loungers and beach bars.
