Nestled among lush hills with panoramic views, Villa Nidri is an octagonal themed architectural masterpiece. Enter through the twisted black iron gates and take in the yellow and terracotta villa that defines this exclusive retreat.
Filled to the brim with rare crafts and exotic antiques such colourful pottery and carvings, this villa is an art lover's dream. These treasures have been sourced by interior designers from as far as India, Egypt and China. Red and soft turquoise is a motif through the villa, from the living room to the four stunning bedrooms.
Outside, the unique azure pool has ten sides and plenty of umbrellas for shade, as well as a stonework fireplace for cosy poolside evenings. Take a refreshing dip in the pool after a long day exploring Lefkas and cool off from the Mediterranean sunshine, then unwind on the sunbeds. One of the most exciting parts of the villa is the jacuzzi garden, separate from the pool area and enjoying dazzling views.

Here, there is a quirky marble and stone fireplace and plenty of comfortable marled sofas with sage green cushions, and a bookcase stocked with plenty of books and films. The spacious octagon kitchen is simply stunning, with a focal island and statement black stools.
Next to the fully equipped kitchen is a sitting area with a pair of armchairs, an Afghan rug and a coffee table, while the dining room has a gorgeoushand-painted Greek motif table where guests can enjoy a home-cooked meal and look out at the lush greenery of the valley below and watch boats sailing between the distant islands.
The bedrooms have a range of four-poster double and twin beds, with crisp white linen and pops of colour in the bedding. Swirly patterned headboards add intrigue, while guests can wake up to wonderful mountain views through the huge windows. Richly patterned rugs adorn the floors, while classical paintings hang on the walls. Luxurious ensuite bathrooms are crafted from Bulgarian marble with spacious shower areas. The main en-suite bathroom offers a bathtub for a relaxing soak, with vintage style candle holders adding drama and mystique.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa NidriThe villa is perfectly placed in Nidri, close to a charming harbour on the mesmerising island of Lefkada. With superb views of the nearby islands of Meganisi and Skorpios, lush pine trees and olive groves, Lefkada is the ideal Mediterranean island destination. Nidri town is just five minutes away, with its charming harbour. Sailboats and local fishing boats bob alongside luxury yachts here, while visitors can take sailing lessons here.
Yachting is a popular attraction for international tourists and locals - check out sophisticated Lefkada Marina. Boat trips to various beaches around Lefkada and neighbouring islands depart from Nidri daily throughout the high season and can be arranged in low season.
Lefkada is easily and conveniently reached from the mainland via a causeway, while the airport is just 25km away in Aktion. It is a rare Greek island you can access by car, and absolutely ideal for a family holiday - there are stunning beaches, luscious green valleys and soaring mountains here. Add friendly locals and a laid back atmosphere and you've got everything you need for a great holiday.
Nydri waterfall is a great excursion that guests can undertake independently. The starting point is close to the villa, and the waterfall is reached by a scenic hike through olive and citrus groves and over rocks. The incredible wall of water descends into a pool where you can swim in the cool water canyon. Local stalls sell honey from around the region.
Lefkada town is just a short drive away, a traditional Greek town full of narrow streets and cute alleyways. There is a main square that has plenty of atmospheric cafes and bars. Lefkada town has lots of tiny boutiques and gift shops for finding souvenirs and great local produce to take home as a reminder of the island.
Famous for its incredible beaches, Lefkada has postcard-perfect beaches on the east side and rugged, wild landscapes on the west. You're truly spoilt for choice, but here are a couple of our favourites. Porto Katsiki, a beach with soaring, white cliffs topped with greenery above soft white sand and impossibly blue water is likely the beach you've seen in marketing campaigns. - it's plain to see why it's the most famous beach in the area.
Another great choice for a beach day is Pefkoulia with beautiful blue shallow waters and a calm tide. The golden sand and pebbles provide the best of both worlds, while pine trees cascade down the hillside. Around the island, watersports are very popular including paragliding, windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Take a trip to the Monastery of Panagia Faneromeni and soak up some culture of the island. Surounded by wonderful gardens and resting high on a hill, this monastery dates back to the 17th century. Inside, you'll find a museum inside with chalices, icons and manuscripts, and even a small zoo!
The food on Lefkada is similar to mainland Greece and the rest of the Mediterranean area - with the addition of scenic mountain views from many of the restaurants. One dish to try in a local taverna is a delicious moussaka, made up of mincemeat layers and tomato sauce with aubergine and bechamel sauce, baked lasagne style. Another dish to try is souvlaki, which is skewered meat and sometimes vegetables, often on a barbecue. A local speciality is crusty bread topped with zingy tzatziki.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesA holiday in Lefkada is a fantastic choice for families with children of all ages. The island is packed with family-friendly activities, amazing beaches around every corner and a chilled out atmosphere, it's sure to be a hit with the younger members of the family. Locals love children and go out of their way to make them feel welcome- often giving them little treats and snacks. Babies are well received in restaurants.
A beach day is always a good idea in Lefkada. Pefkoulia beach is fantastic for kids, especially those who love to swim in the sea. A stunning stretch of golden sand and pebbles, it has reassuringly shallow water, making it a safer place for younger children to swim. Porto Katsiki is bound to impress, with its soaring cliffs, impossibly turquoise water and white sand. They'll love building sandcastles, marvelling at the view and strolling along the sand. Nidri waterfall is also bound to impress, and the hike to get there is not too difficult for children to manage.
The villa itself is sure to be a big hit with little ones and teenagers alike thanks to the unique design. They will love swinging in the hammocks and relaxing in the pool. Bookworms will be pleased to know bookcase is well stocked. The design of the villa is inspiring and it is a charming place for children to hang out. Furthermore, kids may pick from the garden whatever is in season – ripe cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, almonds, figs or apricots.
Inside the Monastery of Panagia Faneromeni, there is a small yet impressive zoo in the courtyard. Featuring lots of exciting animals, the zoo is unique because the monks in the monastery look after the animals. Some animals also roam free in the lush garden around the monastery. The monastery itself will also be fascinating for children, with ancient artefacts and stunning architecture.
Kids are bound to enjoy trying out the flavours of Greek cuisine, especially tasty moussaka and spanokopita, a filo pastry parcel stuffed with spinach, feta cheese and onions.

Fantastic Villa
Fantastic Villa, spotless and amazing views of the bay.

Stunning villa with incredible amenities and views
What a wonderful week my family and I have just spent at this incredible villa! I can't recommend it highly enough. The views out over Nydri and beyond to the islands are to die for, the villa (up a fairly steep road but worth it for the views) is absolutely spotless and the amenities superb. We loved using the BBQ in the evenings and had to drag ourselves away in order to see something of the island; there was so much to do at the villa (including the swimming pool, jacuzzi and hammock tower) that we could have spent the whole time there! Monica & Steve (the owners) were lovely and so helpful, answering all our questions quickly, nothing was too much trouble. We also had a very generous welcome pack on arrival. We were very sad to leave but vowed that will definitely be coming back soon!

Stunning - don’t hesitate just book!
Just back from two weeks at this wonderful stunning Villa. Steve and Monica go over and above to please. The villa is outstanding and the views just stunning, words cannot describe. We went on a few boat trips where we were skippered by Steve, who took us to places on the islands ee would never have found. The little restaurant just 5-7 minutes walk has a delicious menu and easily accommodated our group of 8 several times. Nidri is just 20-30 minute walk depending on ability. Slightly hilly but taxis at 10 euros are great. I’d recommend anyone who is thinking of going to Villa Nidri to just book! You will not be disappointed.

Superb as usual!
This villa is so amazing that we’ve been there every year twice a year since we discovered it 10 years ago. The view is just incredible! Also the attention to detail in the whole villa is second to none. We travel as a couple but if there is a large group of people there are plenty of areas to relax. Theres an amazing room on top of the villa with hammocks and seating areas with an incredible view and the villa also has a hot Tub in its own garden area. The villa is always absolutely spotless and very well maintained. Every year we arrive there is usually something different done which is lovely to see. Steve and Monica are always available to offer any advice or recommendations we might need. The villa is close to Nydri harbour with lots of really lovely restaurants bars and shopping. We can’t wait to go back in October!

5* villa with the perfect view
This villa is 5* all the way with 360 degree views over the islands and mountains that absolutely can not be bettered. You just never get tired of those views! It is a luxury property , very comfortable providing privacy and space yet only a 5 minute taxi ride into the nearby town of Nidri. We love our home from home and return as often as we possibly can - need I say more!
