Overview
Villa Artemis is located amid the traditional community of Megalochori, a place proud to maintain its traditions without being overly influenced by the faster pace of modern life. Upon arriving in Megalochori, you'll find narrow streets, marble churches with traditional architectural bells and endless vineyards to take you to another period and time.
Villa Artemis is a beautifully restored ecological building spanning 120 square meters, perfect for 2 to 6 guests, requiring a minimum three-night stay. It features two separate bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. The spacious living room includes roomy sofa beds, accommodating two additional guests comfortably. As well as a fully equipped kitchen, a patio with a heated Jacuzzi and private terrace. Ideal for families, couples, or groups of friends, the villa ensures a serene and cosy stay. Earth tones, luxurious touches, and minimalist décor create a warm, inviting atmosphere for guests.
Villa Artemis sits firmly in the region's traditional 1900s feel despite its renovation in 2013 by architects MPLUSM and civil engineer Tziotis Georgios. It subtly utilises traditional Thira architecture to a minimal, refining what is already there while added smartness, chic design and a luxurious style.
Villa Artemis' hospitality combines the unique beauty of the island with the unforgettable experience of a stay in a truly beautiful luxury holiday home.

Region
Considered to be one of the most beautiful villages on the island, Megalochori is a hidden gem with white-washed houses, blue-domed churches, bougainvillea-clad terraces and a fine reputation for its Vinsanto wine production which brought great prosperity to this part of Santorini.
On Santorini’s western coast and surrounded by vineyards, this traditional Cycladic village attracts day trippers keen to tour family-run wineries such as Gavalas and Boutari – the naturally sweet wine is made from grapes grown in volcanic soil left to dry naturally in the sun, then aged in oak barrels. You can also visit the village caves carved out from volcanic rock where wine and olive oil was once stored centuries ago.
Meanwhile, be enchanted as you wander around the warren of old lanes, admire the delightful belltower on the main square and stop off in an inviting taverna serving delicious local fare. Much of the 17th century village was damaged in an earthquake many years ago but it has been lovingly restored and still retains its historic charm.
For day trips away from the village, drive up to hilltop Pyrgos for yet more gorgeous architecture, castle ruins and stunning views of the island. Further north, Fira is of course the island’s popular capital, and captivating Oia is loved for its photogenic scenery and sunsets.
Alternatively, head south to the ancient site of Akrotiri and Santorini’s iconic red beach with red-hued pebbles and volcanic rocks – boat trips also allow you to admire this stunning spectacle from the sea, sometimes as part of an island volcano or sunset tour.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesWith its pristine beaches boasting gentle waters ideal for swimming and playing, Santorini ensures endless fun under the sun. Families can embark on boat excursions to explore volcanic islands or engage in water sports like snorkelling and paddleboarding. Beyond its scenic allure, Santorini invites children to discover ancient history through visits to archaeological sites and traditional villages, where they can immerse themselves in local culture and cuisine. The island's welcoming atmosphere, coupled with family-friendly accommodations and amenities, makes Santorini a perfect destination for unforgettable family vacations filled with exploration, relaxation, and cherished memories.
Guests should know that Santorini’s natural topography isn’t particularly suitable for young kids, especially those in pushchairs or prams. Most of the beautiful towns are stacked on hilltops, which means there are narrow pathways and steep steps everywhere you go.

Its perfect!
This Villa is beautiful. It is a perfect combination of traditional cave house and modern sleek lines. With the hot tub, it almost feels like a holiday spa retreat. The layout makes it ideal to share with friends or family as each bedroom has its own ensuite. Spyradoula and Ester were very kind and extremely accommodating. The cleaner did a great job too. The pretty Megalochori village location is ideal - as there are many restaurants and several artisan shops within easy walking distance. We visited Santorini for a family wedding at a local venue and had a wonderful holiday too. We would thoroughly recommend staying in this villa

Incredible stay!
We had an incredible stay and would highly recommend staying here. It was the perfect hideaway from the bustle of Santorini. Much less ‘touristic’ and we felt so at home.
-
Beautiful!
Such an amazing stay! The perfect town that really gave us a good flavour of Santorini and the Villa was just beautiful. We did a couples holiday and it was the perfect setup. Cleaning service everyday which was a pleasant surprise and lots of support from the hosts with recommendations on how best to use our time in Santorini. We had a dream holiday!

Immaculate and unique
It was an absolute picturesque vision of Greece. The home was immaculate and unique. It was comfortable and clean. Ester (the manager)was helpful and so kind. She spent time with us giving suggestions and to help make our trip fantastic. The village nearby is quaint and walkable. The food nearby was outstanding. There’s a hot tub on site that was clean. The rooftop is gorgeous morning and night. The showers were spacious. I didn’t want to leave. We will definitely come back to stay again! Thank you!!!

Wonderful place
What a lovely cave house in the village of Megalochori! This is a wonderful place to stay with parking and easy access to everything that Santorini has to offer.
-
Highly recommend
We had a wonderful stay, the location is perfect, such a quaint village not as touristy as most of Santorini, it was a little haven. The house is beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable! I highly recommend.

Would 100% stay here again
Great host in an amazingly private and quiet property in a nice quiet town. The accommodation is exactly as pictured. I got married at a venue near by and this place fit my bridal party of 5 very comfortably and served as an amazing backdrop for getting ready photos! Esther was very gracious and responsive, arranging transports for us and answering questions quickly. She had great recommendations of local eats as well.
I loved living in the quietest town while still having plenty of restaurants to choose from and little shops to visit. You do need to take either the bus or taxis to the other larger towns. The taxis can get quite expensive but busses were extremely easy and safe as they were like charter busses.
Overall, awesome experience and would 100% stay here again.

Great villa in a super picturesque location
Spyridoula and Ester were fantastic hosts, organising airport transfers for us, giving plenty of information and regularly keeping in contact with us to ensure we had an amazing stay in what was a great villa in a super picturesque location. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to stay in Santorini.

Historic yet stylist
My wife and I had a amazing time at the Villa Artemis. Our host Spyridoula and Ester were very hospitable, personable and accommodating. Our accommodations were historic yet stylist enough to feel the beauty of the modern day Greek culture. Definitely recommend if your desire a quaint, quite, romantic experience.

The villa was fabulous
Fabulous villa in the village of Megalochori. Spyridoula was very responsive to messages and very helpful. We were greeted by Ester who was equally as helpful and very kind. She gave us information on the local area and recommendations on places to eat etc. The villa was fabulous, very clean and modern and has all the essentials. I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautifully renovated and modern
Owner Spiridoula was very kind, helpful, supportive. Villa (built 1892!) beautifully renovated, modern, aircondtioned, spacious. Town of Megalochori nearby, quiet, traditional Greek village.

Perfect In Every Way
Absolutely fantastic! The villa is located in Megalochori, Santorini. We were so happy with the Villa, it was perfect for our family vacation. Nice and quite, away from the crowds, beautiful and SO clean! The owner, Spyridoula was so helpful with suggestions, transportation, and activities, she made the trip so special by pointing out the best of Santorini! Two bedrooms, perfect hot tub, kitchen and everything you need for an amazing stay! I can't thank her enough for all her help and I am looking forward to staying in her beautiful home again someday! Highly recommend this villa!

So beautiful...
My family and I are staying here, and we are so happy! It has a jacuzzi (not with hot water, so it’s good) on the terrace and sun beds on the roof, which is perfect for the hot climate. It has two bedrooms with a lot of space (we brought 7 pieces of luggage (long trip) with us and we are pretty comfortable), and a big living room with a small kitchen. It’s built as a cave, which it’s really cool since cave houses are typical from here. The owner Spyridoula is our favorite person on the island and we want to take her back home with us. She helped us with everything (reservations, activities, maps, she showed us around,...). The area around the house is really beautiful too, there are restaurants close and a very nice square.

Absolutely Perfect
My family’s stay in the picturesque Santorini was combined by our superb accommodation! The villa is a piece of art! A modern and comfortable place fully adopted with the environment and the style of the island! The hostess is a lovely person and always at your disposal! A villa perfectly cleaned and much quiet to enable someone to relax! A place you have to visit again and again!

Perfect
Villa Artemis is a beautiful, stylish, spacious and calming place perfect for our short family getaway holiday in Santorini. The host was extremely kind, helpful and flexible despite our unfortunate flight disruption resulting in 17 hour delay. The villa’s private space allowed us to simply relax and unwind after a long journey. We just wish our stay was a lot longer, and we will definitely book this place again for our future holiday.
