Overview
Villa Kyani has a fabulous location in the peaceful village of Megalochori on a quiet, winding street, away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Fira. The villa’s envious hilltop location boasts impressive views overlooking the village, surrounding vineyards and across the sparkling Aegean Sea. It is just a short stroll away from the picturesque central village square with its pretty churches and bell towers. A handy selection of amenities such as restaurants, shops and a great local market, where guests can stock up on snacks and wine, can all be found in Megalochori. A wider range of amenities and exciting nightlife can be found in Fira, which is just a 15-minute car journey away.
The villa can sleep up to six guests across three beautiful bedrooms. The accommodation is set over two levels; large wooden entrance gates conceal a private cobblestone paved courtyard oasis that boasts a private swimming pool. Double doors lead from the serene courtyard to the kitchenette and magnificent Master bedroom with its domed ceiling; the bedroom also boasts an ensuite bathroom. In the courtyard, separate doors and a staircase lead you into the second spacious double bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs, on the first floor, guests can enjoy the views from the comfort of the large private terrace, the perfect spot for alfresco dining, while enjoying the village views at sunset. On this level is a living room with a kitchenette and an indoor dining room and bathroom.
Outside, the courtyard is the perfect place to spend a lazy day relaxing by the pool with a good book. There are dining facilities and a handy barbecue, perfect for cooking up a storm with treats purchased at the local market.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa KyaniMegalochori is one of the most picturesque villages on the beautiful island of Santorini, thanks partly to how it has managed to maintain its traditional architecture. Opinions differ on the origin of the name - some say that it came from the agricultural fields that the villagers kept, and others argue that the name reflects the personality of the place. Most of the houses have been renovated, but Megalochori has managed to retain many of its traditional values - including many picturesque local churches and the many vineyards that produce fine local wines. The nearby beaches are superb, and whatever you do, try some of the traditionally produced sun-dried tomatoes.
The surrounding area has an abundance of restaurants, tavernas, cafes, bakers, mini-markets, tourist shops and wineries - they are all easy to find, and you'll find the locals incredibly friendly and welcoming. Despite boasting all necessary amenities, Megalochori leaves visitors feeling like a million miles away from any hustle & bustle, however, the busy towns of Fira and Oia are still only a short car journey away!

Region
Considered to be one of the most beautiful villages on the island, Megalochori is a hidden gem with white-washed houses, blue-domed churches, bougainvillea-clad terraces and a fine reputation for its Vinsanto wine production which brought great prosperity to this part of Santorini.
On Santorini’s western coast and surrounded by vineyards, this traditional Cycladic village attracts day trippers keen to tour family-run wineries such as Gavalas and Boutari – the naturally sweet wine is made from grapes grown in volcanic soil left to dry naturally in the sun, then aged in oak barrels. You can also visit the village caves carved out from volcanic rock where wine and olive oil was once stored centuries ago.
Meanwhile, be enchanted as you wander around the warren of old lanes, admire the delightful belltower on the main square and stop off in an inviting taverna serving delicious local fare. Much of the 17th century village was damaged in an earthquake many years ago but it has been lovingly restored and still retains its historic charm.
For day trips away from the village, drive up to hilltop Pyrgos for yet more gorgeous architecture, castle ruins and stunning views of the island. Further north, Fira is of course the island’s popular capital, and captivating Oia is loved for its photogenic scenery and sunsets.
Alternatively, head south to the ancient site of Akrotiri and Santorini’s iconic red beach with red-hued pebbles and volcanic rocks – boat trips also allow you to admire this stunning spectacle from the sea, sometimes as part of an island volcano or sunset tour.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesWith lots of scenic walking and bike trails, plenty of beautiful calm swimming beaches and exciting historic sites, Santorini is the perfect holiday destination for families, however good to bear in mind the topography isn't particularly suitable for kids. Most of the beautiful towns are stacked on hilltops, which means there are narrow pathways and steep steps everywhere you go, not great for pushchairs or prams.
Kids enjoy exploring the two towns on the island; Pyrgos is built on a hill with an old castle on top and fantastic views. Emporio is flatter and smaller, but both offer plenty of opportunities to get happily lost. The cobbled streets of Oia and Fira may also be of interest. Ice cream, crepes, and a few stories about exploding volcanoes will add to the experience.
There is the Kamari open air cinema. The movies aren't always kid-friendly, so check the schedule in advance, but they're usually popular movies in English (with Greek subtitles).

Very Comfortable Beds!
Takis was great to work with while planning our girls trip. Always quick to respond to my questions. Konstantinos was an excellent host - welcoming, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable of the area, with wonderful suggestions. The Villa was beautiful, private and well-located with very comfortable beds. I highly recommend staying at this gem in Megalochori

Amazing village location, so many restaurants
Perfect spot from which to explore the entire island. The property is an oasis of calm and the perfect retreat after days out on the water and travelling around Santorini

Fantastic location!
Fantastic location and exceptional customer service. The villa was ideally located away from the high traffic locations. Only 15 minutes from Fira and Oia. The views from the villa were awesome. The restaurants in Meghalochori were fabulous!!!

Highly recommended!
We had an amazing stay at Villa Kyani. It is located in Megalochori which is one of the most picturesque villages on the island.
The location of the mansion itself is ideal. Close to the public parking and also close to the excellent restaurants or anything else Megalochori has to offer. Close distance to everything else as practically you are in the center of the island.
The mansion itself is keeping its privacy and isolation of everything external so you can completely relax and enjoy everything that offers : from the Italian espresso machine to the swimming pool or the terrace with the magnificent view. Everything is well designed with attention to detail. We had everything we needed for our stay and much more.
A bottle of local wine was waiting to welcome us.
Mr Takis is a wonderful host, helped us with our stay and with his guidance to get the most of vacation.
The Villa is simply ideal !! 5 stars is very little! Highly recommended.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!
Vacation was June - July 2021
Impressions of Villa Kyani….utter elegance, convenience, and a taste of old and new Santorini. Location Location Location. I would not stay in another place if I ever come back, “PERIOD”. Quite honestly staying here was the best vacation I have ever taken.
Pros:
1. Travel Package paperwork. Awesome to have all the numbers for emergencies.
a. Ability to book a private chef and dinner at such an amazing place, upper outside eating area overlooking out to the water. 15 out of 10 on quality of service, food, and experience.
2. Transfer and Pick-up. Must have as we would have to do extra work to request and figure out where to go. The gentleman gave us a little history of the island and was extremely pleasant.
3. Concierge. This by far may be one of the best things about the place. Konstantinos was amazing. He answered every question, he was always available, he helped me grocery shop one day via phone, he booked us car pick-ups, and he told us things to do (this part was gold in itself). He basically helped us/me plan on each day that I didn’t have a plan, he helped us book restaurants, and he helped us book a day at a pool overlooking the cliffs of Santorini. Nothing else to say, he was amazing.
4. The car, is such a great addition. We were able to get out to the grocery store close. I drove my family to the beach 4xs. This was such a plus and driving on the outskirts of the bigger cities and rural areas were easy after 1st try.
5. The HOUSE: OH BOY!!!! Amazing Amazing Amazing
A. The pool was beautiful.
B. 3 bedrooms were perfect, bathrooms perfect. Showers perfect for 5 guests
C. Internet-ready in the place is amazing. This is something you need to make all your guests aware of. Us Americans love our internet.
d. TV upstairs just in case you wanted to watch a show at night. NETFLIX and chill etc. awesome.
e. Washer…1,000% need to promote this more. Why if you’re traveling you don’t have to bring as much stuff to pack. A few years ago went to the Cayman Islands washer and dryer were what sold us. And to be honest this is what sold me on your property.
f. Courtyard at night was mesmerizing. The lights pool and the ambiance were out of this world.
g. Maid Service is just perfect. It was perfect.
h. Location as I said before. There was an opportunity of staying in Oia…but I wanted a little rustic feel but also update amenities and this place was it. Perfectly located in a nice village with a ton of places to eat authentic Greek food.
i. Restaurants, yes
ii. Ice Cream and Coffee Shop, yes
iii. Convenience store, yes
iv. Quiet place to walk around with not all the hustle and bustle, yes
v. Winery, amazing winery literally next door.
6. There are probably another 100 amazing things I could say, cannot remember because everything was just perfect.
Cons:
1. Needed to do my research on toilet use, which was new to us/me. I’m sort of a gerba phobe so getting used to the no toilet paper down toilet. Was new, however, I got used to it after 1 day. Maid Service every day eased any concerns within 24hrs. LOVE IT.
2. And that’s about it…I HAVE NO OTHER cons.
Nothing to say, it was an amazing place to stay at the right time. I and my family had been waiting for 3 years for this vacation. We may come back for sure. Thinking about my next big trip…the world is such a big place not sure where I want to go next.
This was such an amazing experience for my family and was on my wife’s and wife’s mother's bucket list. This place, trip, and experience made many dreams come true. -
Private oasis of calm!
I've been to Santorini a few times but never stayed in Megalochori before, it is picture-perfect and very peaceful. The villa was perfect, very close to the centre and had a good sized pool and private courtyard. The four poster bed was huge, and such nice furnishings throughout. I would highly recommend this villa if you want to relax in your own private oasis of calm!

One of the best!
This is not the first time my wife and I have visited Santorini but I can honestly say it was one of the best...
Our stay in Villa Kyani was truly an experience I would wholeheartedly recommend to any demanding traveler.
The day we arrived was very hot and our trip a little tiring but we were fully rewarded when we took a refreshing dip in the swimming pool and relaxed with a chilled bottle of wine (courtesy of management) in the cool courtyard. The rest of our stay fully lived up to our expectations. -
Top!!!
Stayed second time in Megalochori and this time (Jul/Aug20) in Villa Kyani for one week. What a beautifull villa and location in the heart of Megalochori. All the restaurants just 2min walking distance away. Especially enjoyed the warm hospitality from Konstantinos (our host) and the owner and GM Takis! He let us stay until late afternoon 5pm as our flight left 8pm. Absolut gorgeous villa and a five star recommendation. Thanks Takis and we will be back asap... (stayed with family 2a/3k)Top!!!

Dreamy!
This place was seriously dreamy. Located in a super cute town, with terrific views and very unique rooms. The owner, Takis, is a super great host. The kind that you want to sit and laugh over a glass of wine with. I travel the world and I highly recommend the stay!!!

Amazing and beautiful villa
We stayed at Santorini Heritage Villa Kyani in Megalochori in October. The villa was located in a beautiful town with restaurants and a winery (Gavalas Winery) steps away (not even a block away). We were greeted by the host and provided a tour and instructions on the villa. The villa comes with a car rental (manual) and we were very happy about this addition. We got our international license for the rental (prior to traveling to Greece) and drove the car all over Santorini. If we didn't have a car, we would've taken the bus but the flexibility of a car was worth it. The villa had 3 separate rooms/areas each with their own bathroom and 2 areas had kitchens. The bathrooms were nice with a shower but you can not flush toilet paper down the toilet. A maid cleans the rooms/bathrooms every day so you don't have to worry about the trash. There is a washer for laundry and you have to hang dry clothes. The pool and sitting areas outside were great but since it was October we did not go into the pool. Prior to our visit, the manager of the villa responded promptly to any questions I had about the villa and Santorini. He booked a catamaran tour for us (which was amazing) and followed up to ensure everything fine after our stay. Overall, the villa was amazing and beautiful. We enjoyed every aspect of it, especially the proximity to restaurants.

Amazing Villa!
Wake up to the sound of the village bells and birds chirping! Don’t miss out on staying at the amazing villa. The hosts were excellent communicators and made sure every detail was superbly thought out. The villa provided stunning views and perfect accommodations for our family. We travelled with friends and had them stay at the other villa in town. I honestly can say that this experience was 5 stars and I can’t wait to return. Thank you!!!
