Overview
Villa Larimar offers a fantastic ambience, a stunning blend of contemporary meets ancient nods from the past. Built into the rock face, some areas of natural rock have been left exposed in some of the rooms which is very attractive. This wonderful three bedroom villa is located in a stunning 3.5 acre green and rocky plot, overlooking the gorgeous Psarou Beach. It is close to Ornos, Mykonos Town and the renowned south coast beaches of Paraga, Paradise and Super Paradise. The hillside location is very tranquil and picturesque with stunning views down to the beach. Psarou Beach attracts local and international celebrities. It is one of Mykonos’ trendiest beaches and it is always busy in the summer. The scenery is very beautiful and swimming in the crystal clear emerald water is amazing. Psarou’s upscale beach club, Nammos, is very popular.
Villa Larimar is built very close to its four bedroom sister villa, Villa Heliodor which we also feature. This may be of interest if you are planning a holiday with another family. The villa enjoys many traditional Cycladic features including painted beamed ceilings, lots of lovely curves, brilliant white walls and built-in fittings and furniture. The villa features two wonderful terraces, one being home to a fantastic swimming pool and the upper terrace boasts alfresco dining with a view, an alfresco lounge area and the most stunning panoramic views.
The villa is built over two levels. The open plan living area is a total delight with slightly separate spaces for the kitchen, dining area and living room. The living room is drowned in sunlight and is very spacious. It offers a feature fireplace and gorgeous furnishings. Just a few curved steps down is the intimate dining area. With its beautiful dining table and chairs and with its lovely beamed ceiling, the space is absolutely gorgeous. Next to this is a wonderful modern kitchen which also features the traditional dazzling white curves. Villa Larimar enjoys a wonderful flow between the spaces. One of the villa’s bedrooms is located on this same level with its large double bed and sensational ensuite bathroom.
On the upper level you will find the remaining two bedrooms, a delightful double and a twin bedroom. Both enjoy en-suite bathrooms and balcony access. The furnishings in Villa Larimar are extremely sumptuous and comfortable. You will find it very easy to relax here amongst the Cycladic aesthetics and contemporary interiors. Whoever picks the bedroom with the exposed stonework will definitely want to linger in the sunken bath!
The outside terraces are simply amazing. The infinity swimming pool will definitely make you feel indulged and spoilt. The views down to Psarou Beach are fabulous. The pool is surrounded with luxury loungers. The upper terrace offers dining with a view. The alfresco dining area is covered to protect guests from the brilliant sun. The sun-drenched trendy lounge chairs are the perfect spot to enjoy your holiday book.

Ano Mera is a delightful shopping, dining and cultural destination. It boasts many quaint shops and cafes spilling out onto the cobbled pavements and many ancient, fascinating buildings. It is especially popular for Sunday brunch and the fresh produce market where you can buy local cheeses. Delicious Greek pastries can be bought in the bakery. The beautiful Byzantine Panagia Tourlaina Monastery was orginally founded in 1580 and is fronted by an ornate bell tower with triple bells. Its massive alter screen was made in 1775 by Florentine artists and the carved marble and wood, frescoes, crystal chandeliers and gilded pulpit are all extremely impressive. The monastery is open by appointment.
The Vioma Organic Farm and Vineyard is very interesting to visit where you can take a tour along to the sounds of classical music. The vineyard produces red, white and naturally sweet red wine. There are also 20 beehives producing pure honey, organic seasonal vegetables grown, bread baked in the traditional wood oven and dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, rabbits and the donkey called Marika are all part of the farm’s family. You can taste the wines and many other traditional products such as xynotiro, a hard sour cheese, tyrovolia, a fresh sour cheese, kopanisti, a spicy cheese and louza, a ham similar to proscuitto. For desert, you can taste the Mykonian amygdaloto, a sweet made of almonds and rose water.
Mykonos Town is an enchanting warren of narrow lanes covered in bougainvillea. Lined with picturesque churches, quirky art galleries, chic boutiques, jewellery shops and charming restaurants, visitors love an afternoon meander. The town’s museums, the Archaeological Museum and the Aegean Martime Museum, are interesting. Mykonos Town’s Little Venice is one of the most romantic places on the island. It boasts elegant old houses that are precariously sitting on the edge of the sea creating a magical aura. The ethereal beauty of Little Venice is a favourite haunt of highly acclaimed artists and Instagram followers. There is an abundance of buzzy bars and pulsating clubs as well as art galleries and restaurants.

Best Suited For: All AgesChildren love Villa Larimar and its swimming pool. Psarou Beach is a great area for families with its crystal clear emerald water.
Just a few kilometres away is Mykonos Town. Its pretty windmills and its open air cinema are very popular with children. The maze of narrow streets is brimming with family friendly restaurants and cafes. The Folklore Museum is very interesting. Children can learn how people in Mykonos used to live, work and dress in the 19th century. The Archaeological Museum has a fascinating collection of jewellery, figurines, statues and pottery and the Aegean Martime Museum is home to many ancient nautical instruments and vessels.
There is a good range of boat trips from the harbour or other seaside resorts. One very popular trip is to the UNESCO protected and sacred Delos Island, the birth place Apollo and Artemis. Delos was a major religious centre and port during the 1st millennium BC. It boasts an amphitheatre, Doric temples, an amazing mosaic floor and the iconic terrace of marble lions. No one was allowed to die on Delos as it was deemed one of the most sacred lands so the nearby Rineia Island became a large necropolis.
Paradise and Paraga Beaches are amazing for families. They are highly organised with sunbeds, parasols, bars, restaurants and many watersports on offer such as waterskiing, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, windsurfing and kitesurfing are available. There are dive schools on some of the 25 Mykonos beaches including Mykonos Diving Centre, GoDive Mykonos and W-Diving where you can take various courses. Kite Mykonos and Windsurfing Mykonos are also very popular for visitors wanting to surf. Windsurfing Mykonos operates from Kalafatis Bay. Fitela Beach is on the north coast and is popular with experienced surfers for its stonger winds and bigger waves. Some of the favourite family friendly beaches are Platys Gialos, Elia, Ornos and Kalafatis.
