Exquisitely modern and beautifully styled, Villa Arthur is a dream home-from-home for your group to unwind and indulge in the most magical setting!

Stepping inside this home for the first time you’ll be struck by the sublime openness, with huge high ceilings and multi-level rooms, surrounded by double length windows inviting in the light and wonderful views of your surroundings. From your superb lounge you can admire the leafy hilltops of Faliraki, while this elegant dining area offers a perfect view of the sea, so you can watch the yachts and the fishermen gently making their way in and out of the bay as you dine. The contemporary kitchen offers all the latest mod cons like a coffee machine and dishwasher to ensure your holiday maximises fun and relaxation with less of the day-to-day!

And when it’s time to catch some rest before the next big day of adventure on Rhodes, head up this stunning marble staircase and find yourself in one of these four enchanting bedrooms. Three doubles and one twin room provide a little flexibility for all kinds of groups - and the rooms themselves are sublime! The master suite has a huge cosy bed at its heart, with its far wall replaced by huge windows that look out over the hills in the distance and the beautiful town in the foreground. Meanwhile there’s a second double with garden access and a big wall of wardrobes, similarly the twin room has tons of storage space too, so the rooms feel fabulously spacious! Likewise these two bathrooms are large and wonderful, one featuring an oversized bathtub, and the other a walk in shower!

Heading out to this incredible garden, your fantastic private pool certainly steals the show! Surrounded by loungers so you can relax and soak up the sunshine in between soothing dips, it’s the perfect place to spend the day together, chatting and spending quality time in the most beautiful environment. But that’s certainly not where the fun stops! All throughout the garden, on its many levels of terraces and balconies, there are tucked away spots for a peaceful coffee in the morning, or sunset cocktails as you gaze out over the town! A superb alfresco dining area invites you to cook up a storm in the wonderful kitchen and tuck into it in this most stylish spot by your pool! You’ll also find plenty of lively bars, restaurants and cafes nearby, including several within walking distance in Faliraki, if you’d rather head out for a bite to eat or a few drinks!

With five magnificent beaches within a kilometre, including the superb Faliraki beach which is perfect for water sports, Villa Arthur is in a truly unbeatable location for your perfect holiday on Rhodes!

The incredible Faliraki beach is just on your doorstep, and its stunning coastal landscape. Perhaps the most popular beach on Rhodes - you’ll find out why in no time! Stretching 5 whole kilometres across, dazzling in the sunshine, this enormous beach offers absolutely everything to its many visitors. Whether you’re after a paddle or a swim, some quick bites to eat, or even a full-blown night out with bars and clubs galore, Faliraki beach is the place for you! And it’s not just what’s on the land that counts - as Faliraki beach also offers its many visitors a fantastic water sports scene, too! So try your hand at sea kayaking, perfect your surfing skills, or simply pick up a snorkelling set and see what you can find in these stunning waters!

For more cultural visits, just a short drive inland from Faliraki is the fascinating archaeological site at Sarantapichos, near to the beautiful village of Kalithies. Just outside Faliraki on the scenic hills, meanwhile, there’s also the old monastery of the Prophet Amos which is a beautiful spot for a wander!

What’s more – Rhodes Town is less than 8 miles away, putting the lively, thriving city within very easy reach for a day trip! The old town of Rhodes promises fantastic sites, including the Palace of the Prince Grand Master, the Street of Knights and the Fortifications. Or for a little nature, head out to the Valley of the Butterflies, around half an hour away, which alongside showcasing tons of coloured moths is a fabulously tranquil and beautiful protected area.

Comprising two entirely separate parts, Rhodes Town is a fabulously varied city. A medieval time capsule on the one hand, and a vibrant, modern town on the other, guests of all dispositions will find something to enjoy and explore here. Incredible architecture, friendly vendors and welcoming restaurants make for a thoroughly enjoyable visit! The high walls and deep moat that surround the Old Town add to its incredible charm, not to mention the relics of the Classical, Ottoman and Italian eras dispersed throughout!

Or take a trip south to the stunning Lindos Acropolis, high up on the hilltop and overlooking the stunning sea below, these ruins of an ancient citadel are unmissable! And, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, the Lindos beach is well worth visiting if you’re down this way!

The Island/Getting There

Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands of Greece. It’s got a lot of history as it’s been invaded a lot by the Persians, Carians, Ottomans, Italians, and Germans.

Average temperatures go from 20’c in April up to 30’c in July/ August and down to 20’c in November. With an average of 85 rainy days a year they get sunshine for around 280 days.

The island is 90km long with Rhodes town at the northern tip. The airport (Rhodes International Airport "Diagoras") is also in the North (15km from Rhodes Town). Charter flights and Easyjet operate direct from the UK all season and out of season (Nov-March) you’d need to fly via Athens.

The Acropolis – The Acropolis that sits high above the town of Lindos is absolutely amazing and is a must see if you’re looking for some of the best views in all of Rhodes. One thing I should mention is that the climb up to the acropolis requires you to be somewhat active and able to climb stairs, lots of them. The trail begins through town and slowly but surely starts to get steeper as you climb the hill towards the acropolis. Once there, you’re rewarded with historical buildings dating back to 300 BC. Our Villa Corteau sit just underneath the ruins.

Rhodes has over 40 beaches, here are a few:

  • Anthony Quinn’s Bay – Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the most beautiful bays. The bay is located 17km (10 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and offers some incredible photo opportunities to say the least.
  • The beach at Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the best beaches in Rhodes. Get there early if you want to snag a sunbed and umbrella and enjoy wading around the bright blue and green water. Amazing!
  • For the best views of Anthony Quinn’s Bay from above, head on up to the windy road that leads up the hill just north of the bay and you’ll find a spot where you can sit and enjoy the virtually 180 degree views of Rhodes and its coastline.
  • Tsambika Beach (or Tsampika) –  Tsampika beach is located 30km (18 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and is a great place to spend the day in the sun.  Note: Beware there is a small section where nudists congregate on Tsampika beach
  • Lakido Beach – Just opposite Anthony Quinn’s Bay is Lakido beach. It’s literally 3 minutes walking distance from Anthony Quinn’s bay so visiting both beaches in a day is totally doable. As a matter of fact, I would highly recommend visiting both if you get the chance
  • Faliraki Beach – One of the most popular tourist spots on the island of Rhodes. It was known for 18-30’s holiday in the 90-2000’s but I don’t think there is that market so much now. It is quite commercialised now there are water sports and a few diving schools.

How to reach Rhodes island

There are two ways to reach Rhodes Island: either by flight or by ferry.

By plane: If you don’t want to lose time you can fly to Rhodes (RHO) from Athens. The flight lasts 1 hour. Many direct flights also operate from many European countries, so it will not be difficult to arrive there.

By ferry: If you choose to travel from Piraeus to Rhodes with a ferry, it will surely take you much longer but travelling with a ferry in the summer nights can be pretty enticing! The port of Rhodes is located in the southern part of the island and offers bus services to the town centre. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.

Across the endless miles of coastline of the beautiful island of Rhodes you can truly find beaches of all kinds, with crystal-clear waters lapping at the vast sands which stretch all the way to the horizon – or else in small bays amid the towering cliffs! There are tons of water sports to enjoy along the coast, too, or if you’re more into land based activities, why not give climbing to the highest point on the island, Mt Attavyros, a go?

The Rhodes Waterpark, less than 3 miles away, is fantastic fun for the whole family! The largest in Greece, it sees exhilarating speed slides and free fall drops alongside a lazy river and relaxing whirlpool, so all ages, dispositions and personalities will be catered for. And with tons of food outlets and sun loungers, even those not planning a dip will enjoy a gorgeous day while the kids have the time of their lives!

The kids will adore meeting the fun folk of Faliraki. A warm, passionate people and such a beautifully sociable country, both young and old will welcome you with open arms in Greece, and particularly here on Rhodes. Whether in pavement cafes, cosy restaurants or the thriving town squares, the people love nothing more than to enjoy a coffee or an ouzo in the company of the local community.

  • The villa on the hill

    on 21/08/2020

Lovely place. Space galore. Beautiful house and views. They let us check out later without charge. Would recommend.
We were asked to take the bins out down the road to the big bins. Quite far. Take all the sheets off the bed at the end of the stay. Surely this is a job for the cleaners when paying this much cash. Also water can disappear completely between 6-8pm when you want showers
