Overview
With interesting curved exteriors and fresh, Mediterranean style interiors, Villa Eunike is modern yet homely and in the ideal spot for a Grecian island getaway. Spread across two storeys, the villa has five lovely bedrooms and a shimmering turquoise pool, but the crowning glory of this villa has to be the spa features. There's a 'spa bathroom' decorated in marble with exquisitely carved stone sinks and a designer bathtub.
Step through the floor to ceiling windows to find a classy living room with fresh white walls and neutral furnishings. There's a slick glass coffee table and huge grey marl sofas to sink into after a day spent out and about on the island. Wooden accents add a rustic touch, while a motif of quirky lighting runs throughout the villa - hanging pendant Moroccan style lanterns, modern chrome ovals or squared metal 'frames'.
Climb the elegant curved staircase to find four minimal yet cosy bedrooms with double beds dressed in crisp linen and cool grey or taupe blankets. Bright and airy, these rooms are havens to come home to after a day spent exploring the island. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for those who like to self-cater. There's an oven, dishwasher and even a coffee machine, and guests can use the barbecue for an alfresco feast. 'Picture' windows provide gorgeous views stretching across to the sea.
The bathrooms at this villa are a spa and design lover's dream - two have swirly marble tiled walls and intricate carved stone sinks in black and grey. The other bathroom has a rain shower and zigzag feature walls. In the spa bathroom, elegant gilded details and a luxury bathtub are great for a few hours' escape and relaxation.
Outside, jump straight into the swimming pool for a refreshing swim or relaxing swim as you look out over the Aegean Sea. When you've finished, step out onto the lush lawn, dry off and choose between traditional or comfortable bean bag style sunbeds. There's plenty of space to soak up the Mediterranean sun on the terrace and patio. The shaded dining area overlooks the pool with fancy lattice chairs, where guests can enjoy a home-cooked meal or fruity cocktail.
At sunset, curl up with a glass of wine and watch the sunset on the sofas overlooking the pool.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa EunikeThis villa is situated in Kolymbia, a stunning and tranquil area on Rhodes, nestled between the mountains and the sea. Rhodes is the largest and most well known of the Greek Dodecanese Islands. This popular holiday destination enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year! Just a short walk away is the relaxed town centre, with plenty of shops, bars and cafes.
Several beaches are in the nearby vicinity, as are many of the island's best amenities. Green valleys and lush hills dot the landscape. Take a trip to Seven Springs nature park, a lush landscape encased in dense greenery. The seven natural springs cascade into a small lake, where water flows all year round. Bring your swimming costumes, as visitors can swim in the lake. The area also provides Kolymbia with fresh water. Daredevils who don't mind small spaces can navigate a narrow tunnel in the park, and families can enjoy a gentle walk through the park together.
Known as the 'Island of the Knights', Rhodes has been occupied by the Roman Empire, then the Byzantine and eventually the Ottomans. Therefore, the island is a melting pot of culture and architecture today, especially in the Old Town. Surrounded by fortification walls, the Old Town entrance is guarded through seven gates. Located through the Freedom Gate is the Palace of the Grand Master, which also has amazing views and also includes a museum of Rhodian history. The New Town showcases gorgeous Art Deco architecture, particularly the Evangelismos Cathedral, with its famous frescoes.
The Lindos Acropolis is a must-visit! This ancient citadel, located high on a clifftop has superb views of traditional houses and pebbled courtyards. In this area you'll find the ruins of the Knight's Lodge and the Byzantine church of St John. Many of the houses and monuments in this area are protected Hellenic cultural heritage sites.
Rhodes has an incredible array of beaches to enjoy. One of the most beautiful in the area is Tsambika Beach, which has gorgeous golden sand and a lively atmosphere. Holidaymakers can try out watersports or beach volleyball, and of course go swimming in the turquoise waters. Cradled atop an enormous rock that rises above the beach is the Monastery of Tsambika, where women who seek to conceive a child make pilgrimages.
Anthony Quinn Bay is another beach definitely worth a visit. The cove beach gets its name from the actor who starred in The Guns of Navarone, a movie partly shot at this beach and actually owned part of the island. Dramatic rocky peaks rise from the swirling azure and jade waters - the view from the top is awe-inspiring.

The Island/Getting There
Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands of Greece. It’s got a lot of history as it’s been invaded a lot by the Persians, Carians, Ottomans, Italians, and Germans.
Average temperatures go from 20’c in April up to 30’c in July/ August and down to 20’c in November. With an average of 85 rainy days a year they get sunshine for around 280 days.
The island is 90km long with Rhodes town at the northern tip. The airport (Rhodes International Airport "Diagoras") is also in the North (15km from Rhodes Town). Charter flights and Easyjet operate direct from the UK all season and out of season (Nov-March) you’d need to fly via Athens.
The Acropolis – The Acropolis that sits high above the town of Lindos is absolutely amazing and is a must see if you’re looking for some of the best views in all of Rhodes. One thing I should mention is that the climb up to the acropolis requires you to be somewhat active and able to climb stairs, lots of them. The trail begins through town and slowly but surely starts to get steeper as you climb the hill towards the acropolis. Once there, you’re rewarded with historical buildings dating back to 300 BC. Our Villa Corteau sit just underneath the ruins.
Rhodes has over 40 beaches, here are a few:
- Anthony Quinn’s Bay – Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the most beautiful bays. The bay is located 17km (10 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and offers some incredible photo opportunities to say the least.
- The beach at Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the best beaches in Rhodes. Get there early if you want to snag a sunbed and umbrella and enjoy wading around the bright blue and green water. Amazing!
- For the best views of Anthony Quinn’s Bay from above, head on up to the windy road that leads up the hill just north of the bay and you’ll find a spot where you can sit and enjoy the virtually 180 degree views of Rhodes and its coastline.
- Tsambika Beach (or Tsampika) – Tsampika beach is located 30km (18 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and is a great place to spend the day in the sun. Note: Beware there is a small section where nudists congregate on Tsampika beach
- Lakido Beach – Just opposite Anthony Quinn’s Bay is Lakido beach. It’s literally 3 minutes walking distance from Anthony Quinn’s bay so visiting both beaches in a day is totally doable. As a matter of fact, I would highly recommend visiting both if you get the chance
- Faliraki Beach – One of the most popular tourist spots on the island of Rhodes. It was known for 18-30’s holiday in the 90-2000’s but I don’t think there is that market so much now. It is quite commercialised now there are water sports and a few diving schools.
How to reach Rhodes island
There are two ways to reach Rhodes Island: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: If you don’t want to lose time you can fly to Rhodes (RHO) from Athens. The flight lasts 1 hour. Many direct flights also operate from many European countries, so it will not be difficult to arrive there.
By ferry: If you choose to travel from Piraeus to Rhodes with a ferry, it will surely take you much longer but travelling with a ferry in the summer nights can be pretty enticing! The port of Rhodes is located in the southern part of the island and offers bus services to the town centre. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesA holiday in Rhodes is a superb choice for families with children of all ages. There's so much for kids to get stuck into - and they'll adore spending time at this villa! Children will love jumping straight into the refreshing pool and relaxing in one of the many chill-out zones around the villa. After a cooling swim, they can curl up in one of the comfy poolside chairs or watch a movie inside on the flat-screen TV.
The water park in nearby Faliraki is hugely popular with children. It boasts a range of water slides, artificial waves and pool games. Open during the summer months, there's a lovely party atmosphere and plenty of space to chill out with some refreshments by the pool.
Another family-friendly activity in the nearby area is the Valley of the Butterflies, a peaceful 600-acre nature park known as a 'summer home' for butterflies, including rare species. Take a gentle stroll through the valley with colourful butterflies swooping around. Little ones are bound to be enamoured by the experience. The Seven Springs is also a great place to take children - it's peaceful and fantastic for a walk and a swim in the lake surrounded by the springs.
Rhodes' beaches are always popular with kids - whether they want to get stuck into watersports or take a relaxing swim in the glittering sea at Tsambika or Anthony Quinn Bay. They'll love making sandcastles and taking a stroll along the powdery golden sand, and they're bound to make some friends.
The locals are friendly and welcoming towards children - they love to spoil them with little treats in restaurants! Kids are bound to enjoy trying out tasty Grecian cuisine, especially moussaka and spanokopita, a filo pastry parcel containing spinach, feta cheese and onions or scallions.
A stroll around the Old Town is bound to capture the imagination of older children - the views from both the top of the Lindos Acropolis and the Palace of the Grand Master will definitely impress them!

The view is stunning
Location is superb, central on the Island, close to Tsambika beach. House is very beautiful and the view is stunning!
House is big enough for our group of 10. Our host Giannis was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
