About the surrounding area of Dodona VillasThe beautiful Dodona Villa's are located in an exclusive spot on the hillside, moments from the vibrant, beautiful town of Sivota. Private sea taxis can take you from Sivota to the gorgeous island of Paxos in thirty minutes and Preveza airport is roughly an hour from the villa. Alternatively, you can fly to Corfu and take a ferry over to this dreamy destination if you fancy a combination holiday.
Sivota is a magical spot for people watching, waterside dining and enjoying boat hire and other entertainment. Located in a sheltered bay, sandwiched between hills covered in fragrant pines, cypress and olive trees and the deep blue Ionian Sea, Sivota enjoys super views, stunning beaches and a bustling harbour with its quayside lined with charming bars and unique shops. There are excellent beaches nearby. Bella Vraka, on the islet of Mourtemeno, can be reached by foot via a sandy causeway. It offers a unique and idyllic setting for a lazy beach day. The stunning Mikri Ammos Beach is within easy reach and boasts one of the best beach clubs in the area. Getting There
How to reach Sivota
There are three ways to reach Sivota: by flight, ferry and car or by flight and car.
By plane and car: Sivota is on the mainland of Greece, getting there either fly to Preveza Airport (code PVK) which has many international flights, and drive approx. 100km, Ioannina Airport (IOA) has domestic flights plus the drive is 165km to Sivota or fly to Corfu, get a taxi to Corfu port, then get a ferry to Igoumenitsa, then pick up a car or taxi to Sivota, approx. 25km

Best Suited For: All AgesThis gorgeous region is wonderful for family holidays. There are plenty of idyllic beaches with watersports and stunning scenery. Sivota boasts several child-friendly beaches with shallow, calm waters, making them perfect for swimming and building sandcastles. Mega Ammos Beach, Zavia Beach and Mikri Ammos are great options. There are also a good supply of boat trips which are always popular with little ones. You can either hire your own boat or take an organised trip from Sivota. Kids can jump off the boats, swim in crystal clear waters and laze on isolated beaches far from the crowds, visit picturesque harbours, dive or snorkel and enjoy the fascinating underwater world.
There are more than twelve islands close to Sivota and the villa that you can visit. Sivota Boats is just one of the companies that provides boat hire and offers a fantastic water adventure to families. Another company Occhi Verdi Boating offer the services of a friendly, professional skipper. If you take an organised cruise to Parga and the islands, you are likely to enjoy a barbecue as part of the trip.
Parga is a wonderful seaside town that families adore. It sits just south of the villa and is wrapped in pine-clad mountains, with a jumble of pretty terracotta-roofed houses that are painted different colours. There are tiny little islands dotted around the bay, including Panagia which is topped with a whitewashed chapel. Parga enjoys beautiful beaches including the town beach Kryoneri which faces Panagia Island. Piso Kryoneri is next to it, a very pretty cove with a sand and pebble beach. Valtos is just over the headland with its tavernas, watersports and fine sand. Little boats ferry in and out of the harbour taking visitors on trips. The harbour is very vibrant with gorgeous little shops where children can buy souvenirs.
Sivota and the surrounding region have plenty of family-friendly hiking trails. You can explore nature together and discover hidden gems like waterfalls and caves. The Acheron River offers one of the famous landmarks of the ancient world, it is believed that the souls of the dead passed on their way to Hades there. Along the river’s banks, you can visit the five thousand-year-old Necromanteion, an eerie temple where priests were supposed to have communicated with the dead. There are so many ancient monuments to discover in this amazing region. Children enjoy a range of activities including river trekking, canoeing and tubing on the Acheron River. It is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
