Enter the age of elegance when you vacation in Villa Enoki, located in the heart of the countryside of the Greek island of Zakynthos, in the Ionian Sea. This luxury property has five spacious double bedrooms, and can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests, ideal for a large family holiday, or group of friends’ sharing. The two-storey, detached Villa Enoki, is set in its own grounds, with verdant lawns and mature trees, and views of lemon, orange, and olive groves.

This imposing property is constructed out of classic Mediterranean whitewashed walls, surrounded by a local stone wall and high fences, trimmed with white wrought iron gates, railings, and balcony guards. Villa Enoki comes complete with private parking, complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout, and your own centrepiece swimming pool. This recently refurbished property has impressive interiors, furnished in the style of an opulent French country house, and graciously decorated in a palette of exquisite, rich jewel colours.

Drive through the wrought iron gates, and enter the double-fronted Villa Enoki to discover your splendid holiday home. Through the marble-tiled hallway, there are two formal sitting rooms. The first has an L-shaped red sofa, wood coffee tables, a display cabinet, home to a flat-screen television, and an open fireplace for those cooler months and evenings. The second seating area has a wrap-around red sofa, coffee tables, formal armchairs, and a leather pouffe. The yellow and white kitchen is fully equipped with all the latest built-in appliances you will need to cater for your holiday. In the kitchen, there is a six-seater dining set, perfect for a convivial breakfast.

Villa Enoki has five beautifully appointed, ornately dressed, double bedrooms, all with French doors that open onto the veranda or furnished balconies. Four of the bedrooms have double beds, some of them four posters, and one has twin beds, which can be converted to a double. There are four modern bathrooms, some ensuite, some with walk-in showers, and a shared family bathroom with a bathtub.

Access the paved terrace from the ground floor double doors, where you will find the villa’s inviting grounds and gardens. A swimming pool takes centre stage, surrounded by deep-cushioned, wooden sun loungers, perfectly positioned to catch those rays all day long. Relax on the well-manicured lawns, under the shade of tall trees, and catch up on this summer’s best seller. Meet for sundowner cocktails at the built-in outdoor bar, complete with bar stools. Feast alfresco under the canopied dining area, with local delicacies freshly grilled on the brick chimney barbeque, then raise a toast to the most memorable Grecian holiday.

Villa Enoki can be found in the heart of the countryside, near the village of Agios Kirikos, on the Greek island of Zakynthos, in the Ionian Sea. The villa is just ten kilometres from Zakynthos International Airport, or island hop and arrive by ferry at Agios Nikolaos port. Within walking distance is the picturesque village of Agios Kirikos, where you can find all the provisions you will need to cater for your holiday, plus a few cafes, bars, and tavernas too. A ten-minute drive will take you to the bustling holiday resort of Tsilivi, with banks and supermarkets, cafes, bars, and restaurants, and a beautiful sandy beach. Have fun on the pedaloes, take to the water on jet skis, and the air with a spot of parasailing.

Nearby Planos has a sandy beach, with organised sun loungers and parasols. Laganas is famous for its seafront shops, bars and restaurants, bike and boat hire, sandy shores and water sports, thermal springs, and nesting turtles, not to mention the nightlife. Feel the beat at Zante’s famous Pure Beach Club, party all day to the vibes from their state-of-the-art sound system, and discover the delights of a Champagne Spray. The area is renowned for its excellent hiking, trek the local countryside to discover the island’s flora and fauna. The main town of Zante is only seven kilometres away, visit the Byzantine Museum, and seek solace in the church of Agios Markos with its imposing belfry, and the impressive church of St Dionysus, the patron saint of the island. Go on a guided walking tour from Solomos Square, and be impressed by the historic Venetian architecture. Shop in the souvenir stores, and sip ouzo in a Greek music bouzouki bar as you watch the world go by.

Take to the water with a catamaran tour around the coastline, join a day trip from Zante harbour, or hire your own private yacht complete with a captain. A day at sea will take you to turquoise coves and beautiful hidden bays, swim, and snorkel, dine aboard, and come into port as the sun sets, In the southwest of the island is Keri Lake, a village that combines the sea, forests, valleys, and streams, and is abundantly rich in agriculture. Walk through the scented pine forests, pick grapes and olives in season, be amazed at the bouquet of natural wildflowers, take a boat trip to the Keri Caves, and then dine by the waterside.

The picture-perfect village of Bochali has an ancient Venetian castle with stunning sea, coast, and town views, and a tiny church, charmingly named Zoodos Pigi with beautiful Byzantine icons. Make sure you take a tour of one of the many vineyards across the island, sample the wine, and take a bottle or two home with you. If you are lucky, you may be there for the Zante Carnival, inspired by the island’s Venetian heritage, the festival starts with drinking and dancing, and ends with eating cheese – need we say more!

Region

An Ionian island of contrasts, Zakynthos (Zante) offers wild landscapes of olive groves and sleepy villages, iconic beaches and idyllic coves alongside bustling tourist hot-spots and long stretches of coastline with sun beds and watersports. Whether you are seeking Greek authenticity or the ease of family-friendly resorts, Zakynthos has so much to appeal to every visitor on the island.

Starting off in the capital, Zakynthos Town, enjoy a morning coffee on the vast Solomos Square overlooking Agios Nikolaos Church by the sea, then get lost in the warren of flower-filled lanes in the old quarter before shopping and dining by the waterfront. As evening nears, the town is a mecca for locals and visitors alike looking for vibrant bars and nightlife.

Head to the rugged north of Zakynthos for a wealth of hidden pebbled coves, picture-perfect swimming spots, the incredible Blue Caves and popular Navagio Beach (also known as Shipwreck Beach). Tour the natural beauty of Cape Skinari, drive to the traditional village of Volimes, bathe in the healing sulphur waters of Xigia Beach, then dine by the harbourfront in Agios Nikolaos.

A little further down the eastern side of the island, be enchanted by the traditional seaside village of Alykansas with its olive groves, vineyards and family-friendly ambience, then hop on a horse-drawn carriage to Alykes across the other side of the vast sandy bay.

Venture inland to experience the island’s wild landscapes of olive groves, cypress and pine forests, mountain slopes and the lovely scent of wild thyme. Zakynthos is wonderful for nature explorers as well as keen hikers with trails criss-crossing through the valleys.

The south of Zakynthos also awaits, so loved for its beautiful beaches and the incredible Marine Park, a protected area including Gerakas Beach, Marathonisi Island and the famous loggerhead turtles.

Bustling Laganas Beach will appeal to tourists wanting to stay near restaurants, bars and a beach with summer watersports. Meanwhile, Kalamaki is located between Laganas and Zakynthos Town, ideal for couples and families searching for a long and sandy beach, inviting places to eat and a range of child-friendly activities. For a truly memorable outing, join a sea-kayaking tour of this part of the coastline in search of the island’s beloved turtles.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

There are lots of lovely things for your children to see and do when you holiday in Villa Enoki. Starting with the villa itself, set in a secure garden, in which they can play, and your own private swimming pool, as there are no set hours, they can splish and splash all day. There are lots of family-friendly beaches within a short driving distance, including the easy-entry, sandy beach at nearby Tsilivi resort. Planos is on the same stretch of coastline with an organised beach and plenty of activities, and Laganas is famous for its loggerhead turtles and thermal springs, which they’ll love swimming in. Discover an aquatic paradise with a day at Tsilivi Water Park, slip down slides, swim in its many pools dedicated to different age groups, play with the toy animals that eject water, climb the rigging of a pirate ship, and explore the water jungle.

For your older children, experience the ultimate adrenalin rush with the Turbolance, the quadruple Multislide, the Blackhole, and the Spacehole. For something a little gentler, your kids can try their hand at water rafting, or simply drift down the lazy river. The Water Village Zante has towering slides, a lazy river, a jacuzzi and child-friendly splash pools for your younger children. Caretta Fun Park in the south of the island has its share of pools and slides, and in the evening a whole new magic world of trampolines, bouncy castles, go-carts, cinemas, and games, opens. Your kids might enjoy a game of Fantasy Mini Golf, a sixteen-kilometre course with different playing levels for all ages, slice that ball through waterfalls, windmills, and erupting volcanoes, with a play area for your younger ones. Your older ones might appreciate a game of the real thing at the nearby mini golf course.

A family fun evening can be had at Bowl’m Over, a fifties diner with a four-lane bowling alley, pool tables and air hockey, with snacks served on retro sofas and swing chairs. Get them active with nature trails across the island, horse riding through forests and sandy dunes, snorkelling and scuba diving around shipwreck island, bike rides to the blue caves and Smuggler’s Cove, or a jeep safari to discover the island’s flora and fauna.

No trip to Zante is complete without a family day at sea, all aboard for a day of fun in the sun, swimming, snorkelling, and sunbathing. For some culture and history, a trip to the town of Zante, with its museums and architecture is an ideal day out. Sample the local sweet delicacies of Mandolato, Fytoura, and Pasteli, children love them, then dine in a family-run, family-friendly local taverna and taste some of the delights of Greek cuisine. Do a day trip to Keri Lake, walk the cliffs to see the lighthouse, hike the hill to the top of the castle, swim in the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea, and discover the Keri caves.
