Villa Montecchi is an authentically styled southern Italian idyll, a white-washed abode brimming with local flavour, Sorrentine charm and polished comfort.
Upon setting foot in this villa, take in the rustic style, paved terraces and lush lawns framed by vivid flowers spilling out of terracotta pots. The dappled trellis has a timeless and serene feel, making for stylish outdoor living, while the stone walls and wrought iron gated entrance lend a nod to tradition.
14 guests can be accommodated in 7 bedrooms, one of which is a mezzanine bedroom, each with their own individual style and each with accents of vibrant colour. Some bedrooms also have private terrace access. The interiors at Villa Montechi are a colourful blend of contemporary, sleek fittings and breezy sea-side tones of aquas and cobalts and original touches jostle with top-grade finishes
Hand-painted local mosaic tiles and an exquisitely ornate frescoed ceiling take this home to a new level - with charisma, a hint of grandeur and a dash of interiors flair. The living spaces are in their own pavilion, well-proportioned and airy, they offer endless entertainment potential.
Dining al-fresco is a stylish affair - setting the scene for long and lazy lunches, the long table sits under the shaded pergola amongst the endless greenery. A brick-built wood-burning pizza oven and barbecue will hit the right note on balmy summer evenings. The many terraces treat guests with mesmerising views of the landscape that are hard to tear your eyes away from.
The sublime outdoor spaces at Villa Montechi makes it hard to resist adopting the local pace of life and guests will cosset themselves in this chic retreat.
What you should know…
- The lavish living spaces are set within a separate pavilion to the bedrooms.
- There are some stone steps externally, and the pool is unfenced so little ones will need to be monitored.
- Please note the professional outdoor kitchen, pizza oven and shuttle vehicle can be operated only by villa personnel.
- Access to the property is via a narrow road, therefore it is best to leave the car nearby, where there is plenty of free parking space.
- Up to four additional beds are available on request for an extra cost. Please enquire.

About the surrounding area of Villa MontecchiVilla Montechi is set in the foothills of Massa Lubrense in the Naples municipality. An enchanting setting, rich with natural beauty, this spot offers a tranquil environment, close to some of the dazzling jewels of the Amalfi coast. Surrounded by olive groves, lemon trees and fragrant herbs and lavender, this rural idyll offers a little slice of Southern Italian perfection.
Sorrento is only a 15-minute drive away, overlooking the Bay of Naples, perched atop of peninsular, it offers sweeping views across the waters, while at its heart the central Piazza Tasso is a vibrant cafe-lined square.
Sorrento is steeped in history and meandering down a warren of narrow alleys will take visitors to the Chiesa di San Francesco: a 14th-century church in rich, opulent Italian style.
For a taste of the dolce vita, Positano is a picture-perfect day trip with stunning coastal roads - like stepping into a romantic black and white Fellini film!
Pompeii is a must-see when in the region; sealed in time, the statues are a sobering and unforgettable sight, while a myriad of cobbled streets alights the imagination.
For a taste of the well-heeled riviera life, Capri is a boat trip away, offering glamour and style, glittering beaches, smart restaurants and up-market boutiques.
Naples itself is a bustling city brimming with colourful markets, narrow streets with outdoor washing lines and cobbled alleyways - allegedly it also offers Italy’s best pizza. Amalfi hugs the coast, awash with ochre tones, crimsons and a sunset palette. It has a pretty harbour and good local shopping opportunities. Be sure to try the ice-cream filled buns at a gelateria.

Heading into Sorrento, the Marina Grande is a lovely spot for collecting seashells and chasing fish whilst parents sit sipping a cool drink.
For little history lovers, the gladiatorial arenas and mysterious catacombs in the region are intriguing, while Pompeii is a trip that younger members of the group will not forget in a hurry. Its ancient cisterns, passageways and ghoulish cemeteries bring history to life in a way that no history book can.
Stepping out in the evening, the piazzas in Amalfi are a melting pot of all generations enjoying the cooling evening air, pizzerias and wine bars, football games and fountains - younger members of the group will be welcome in this region, while it apparently offers the best gelato in the world!

Charming Villa
The beautifully landscaped property, included trellised lemon trees, separate private patios for each suite of lovely bedrooms, with lots of roaming space for our 5 children (ages 5-19), and, of course, the beautiful pool which became our late night hangout after full days of cruising to Capri and Positano or driving to Ravello, Sorrento and Pompeii. The location was perfect for seeing the entire Amalfi Coast, because our boat captains would pick us up in Massa Lubrense, which was so convenient for our excursions. The Villa was charming, spacious with good design and comfortable beds. The large kitchen/family room included a dining table for 14 and, additionally, there was a fabulous outside large dining table and kitchen/grill area where we dined one night while their chef prepared and served us a variety of delicious pizzas. The staff were endearing and provided exceptional service. The staff were the icing on a very beautiful and delicious cake!
