Overview
Experience ultimate relaxation under the Sicilian sun when you’re holidaying in Villa Cappero, a stunningly modern home forming a complex of seven identical properties near the beach village of Marina di Ragusa in southeastern Sicily.
Inside the villa, you’ll find two elegantly furnished bedrooms, one equipped with a large double bed and one with two bunk beds, ideal for children or extra guests. The living area is a stunning open-plan space with a kitchen corner, a dining table and a lounge area with a sofa and TV – inviting you to enjoy cherished moments in the circle of family and friends. Here, you can expect floor-to-ceiling windows with plenty of natural light and a neutral-hued colour palette offset by wood and rattan elements.
Outside, guests can dine al-fresco under the stars or take a plunge in the private swimming pool. On the upstairs terrace, you’ll find a jacuzzi and enough space for gathering, including an al-fresco dining table and more sun loungers.
Apart from the seven stunning properties, Lido Azzuro features a superb beach club, restaurant and wine cellar offering tasting experiences and tours. Its top-notch restaurant is known for serving regional specialities such as pizza, seafood, and excellent pasta dishes, so you don’t even need to go far to savour Sicily’s delectable cuisine.
Villa Cappero is located just moments away from the sea and is a short drive from the local beach village Marina di Ragusa, which features restaurants, cafés, and a public lido backed by a promenade.
A bit further away by car, explore the hilltop city of Ragusa and take in its unique charm when walking around the cobbled alleyways full of Baroque architecture, market stalls and atmospheric trattorias.
Nature lovers can explore the many walking and hiking trails located all over the island, as well as forests, nature reserves and protected wildlife areas. The magnificent Mount Etna looming over the island is also an excellent idea for a day trip, with a cable car making it more accessible.
Furthermore, the island’s rich history can be explored by wandering through the archaeological sites, visiting its UNESCO cities – think Noto or Syracuse, for example – and tasting the Sicilian dishes that have stood the test of time.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa CapperoThe impressive holiday complex is ideally nestled on Sicily’s southeastern coast near many sandy beaches and not far from notable cities such as Scicli, Noto, Syracuse and Catania.
Visit the nearby seaside village of Marina di Ragusa, which is buzzing with life, especially during summer. You’ll love soaking up the sun as you walk by the promenade, and its abundance of restaurants and bars means you’ll be able to find a table no matter the time of day. A bit further up from the main beach – which is fantastic for swimming and has many amenities – you’ll find the marina with sailboats and yachts. From here you’ll be able to embark on boat trips and excursions around the island and take a ferry to the mainland. Before all your trips, don’t forget to stock up on snacks and water in one of the nearby supermarkets, most of which are just a 5-minute drive away.
Scili, a small town bathed in a pale, ochre light can be reached in just 20 minutes by car. Its old town has many churches, cathedrals, admirable stone walls and Baroque architecture. Still, you’ll also find plenty of restaurants, delis and ambient cafes here to satisfy your taste of Sicily’s sweet, cannoli-filled life.
Within an hour’s drive from the villa is the island's southernmost tip, the lighthouse of Capo Passero, and the charming fishing village of Marzamemi. This quaint place is a gorgeous setting for an aperitivo in the main square and is particularly busy in summer when it hosts an international film festival.
Syracuse – a city notable for its rich Greek and Roman history – is just over an hour’s drive away. Being the birthplace of the pre-eminent mathematician and engineer Archimedes, it lures crowds of tourists with its UNESCO World Heritage Site-listed old town and the Necropolis of Pantalica, among many other historic landmarks.
Packing your walking shoes when visiting Sicily is a good idea, as you’ll find an abundance of nature here waiting to be explored. Whether it’s the sweeping coastal trails or walking routes, there’s something for every nature enthusiast. Close to home, you can visit the Foce del Fiume Irminio nature reserve or go further to marvel at the sand dunes of the Spiaggia del Palo Bianco – a hiking area near the beach. The adventurous types shouldn’t miss Sicily’s most prominent attraction – the active stratovolcano Mount Etna. Choose from one of the thrilling walking trails depending on your level and wander through lava fields and flow caves to admire fascinating rock formations, or take the cable car to the top to enjoy unspoilt views minus the effort.

This part of Sicily, with its enchanting landscapes and charming towns, offers a myriad of attractions and activities that beckon travellers from around the world.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesChildren will love exploring the beaches, nature, and historic cities on this beautiful island, and there are plenty of activities for the entire family to be found here.
Start your day with a trip to the nearest beach with amenities such as sun loungers, parasols, beach bars, and snack shacks. A palm tree-fringed promenade backs the public lido, and there are many restaurants where you can escape the lunchtime heat. Fine sand and shallow water with little to no waves are suitable for all swimmers.
Alternatively, hop into the car and explore Sicily’s many sandy and rocky beaches in hidden coves and azure-blue lagoons. The coast south of Modica and Ragusa is wonderfully sandy and, therefore, a great choice for families. Spend the morning at Sampieri, a magnificent sweep of sand dotted with bars or head to Spiaggia Micenci for a more serene atmosphere.
In the height of summer, cool down in one of Sicily’s waterparks – notably, Etna Flow boasts a large pool for swimmers, a climbing wall and a skate and bike area. At the same time, Etnaland is full of rollercoasters and water rides for the entire family.
